  1. Great report, AT&T park looks like one of the absolute nicest anywhere in professional sports. I've kinda of stopped following baseball over the past couple of years but if I ever wind up in San Fran during the summer I really want to catch a game there. One a side note, I've always thought it would be a cool idea for a baseball stadium to build a small wooden roller coaster on site that could operate before and during home games. I mean baseball and wooden roller coasters are about as synonymous with summer time as fire works and apple pie (excuse my bad cliches), so why not build a small Big Fun style GCI or Wooden Warrior style coaster at a ball park? Charge $5 per ride, half off during the 7th inning stretch and before the game or something. The organization might not make a ton of money off of it, but being able to provide a unique experience like that at the ball park for the guests would be well worth it in my opinion. How cool would a small midway with a coaster, ferris wheel, and a drop tower be in straight away center field? If anyone out there owns a MLB franchise, build a wooden coaster!
  2. We had Russell at Western Kentucky my last year (and still do, I think WKU was one of the first schools to officially use them exclusively for all sports), and I loved their stuff. I still wear sweats and t-shirts and stuff from them I got that year all the time, and liked our uniforms then and the new ones we have now. Nothing fancy, or flashy, just solid good looking uniforms. Yeah those were cool the first time I saw them when Alabama had them in the championship game a few years ago, but now that every school has them with their logo it's getting a little old. But USC's uniforms are awesome, why would they ever need to change? I'm all for changing things up a little from time to time, breaking out new uniforms can be a good tool to get the crowd into the game or give the players a little extra edge. I love when teams do the blackout for the first time or wear throwbacks, but I do agree that some of the new designs are awful. Change is good, but best when done in moderation. Then again, as awful as all of Oregon's uniforms are you gotta give them credit for making a reputation for themselves and being visible on the national scale, even if for all of the wrong reasons. Oregon can't be an easy place to recruit, all of their players have to come out of California (USC, UCLA, Stanford) or from the rest of the country (SEC, Big 12, Big 10) so having uniforms that are very emphatic (ugly) definitely gives them some attention they wouldn't normally get. How does a guy like LaMichael James come from middle-no-where Texas to being a Heisman candidate at Oregon? I'm not saying it's all because of the uniforms but I think it definitely plays a part.
  3. Despite the lackluster collection of coasters this place looks pretty impressive compared to other parks I've seen in China. What a weird collection of dark rides.
  4. I was in Savannah half of this week for work and it is by far the hottest place on the planet in August, yeesh. I played 9 holes of golf starting at 6:30 pm and was soaked in sweat by hole 5, couldn't even hold onto the club at that point, it was awful. The boiler room I was working in all week was around 100 degrees and it felt cool compared to the outside! Awful, I feel for ya man.
  5. That's a long long day but the coasters at Busch Gardens are definitely worth it if that is all you are looking for, and Busch Gardens is the park to go to compared to anything in Orlando is coasters is all you want.
  6. ^Those are awful, but I kind of like these..... I think kind of work just because the Nebraska "N" is such an iconic symbol. Yeah, Notre Dame's are terrible, but the worse their uniforms are the better!
  7. Just checked out the website and the event looks pretty standard, I'm kind of disappointed they moved Fiends and didn't bring back the show that was in the Desert Grill last year, I thought that show was pretty decent. Anyways should be a great event as usual. Looking as pricing the VIP mega tour that includes admission, preferred parking, as well as front of the line access to all houses and coasters for $110 is the way to go, can't beat that!
  8. Denmark's largest suspended coaster, haha seems like a meaningless title to me but oh well, looks like a great little addition. I'd love to see some more of these custom junior suspended coasters in America, they seem like the perfect mixture of mildly thrilling fun for everyone. Farup Sommerland looks like it is slowly turning into one of the better little parks in Europe, I'd love to get over there one of these days.
  9. If I spent $1,700 dollars on a tattoo I'd want it to get me laid too!
  10. It's Friday, so that must mean it's time once again for this weeks installment of "Terrible Alabama Tattoos". A few weeks ago I thought I'd seen it all with Greg Mcelroy's awful/epic chest tattoo, but that was nothing compared to this masterpiece. That's what $1,700 and 10.5 hours in a tattoo chair will buy ya these days, Roll Damn Tide ..... . Shout out to kentuckysportsradio.com via bustedcoverage.com for this morning's entertainment Alabama Back Tattoo
  11. ^Haters is such a harsh word, people here are more like overly critical in a constructive way . Seriously I think we all know Gate Keeper will be really cool, lots of fun, and a ride most people will absolutely love. It might not make any respectable top 10s but that doesn't mean it will be a massive failure either. TheGP will love it, enthusiasts will flock to it, and the Travel Channel will undoubtedly feature it on a show next summer touting it as the longest tallest baddest meanest coaster with winged seats in the state of Ohio, pretty much par for the coaster enthusiasts course.
  12. This is a pretty nit picky complaint but I wish they would of had the lift hill face the park instead of the parking lot. Seems like a roll dive and vertical loop combo could have been designed to occupy roughly the same space as the roll dive and Immelmann does but would allow the view from the lift to be of the park and the beachfront portion of the lake instead of a view of the parking lot. I realize the station layout would have had to of been different also but a view of the park instead of the parking lot would have been worth it to me. Still looks like a great ride, glad to see they incorporated the interactive key hole fly throughs, those should be spectacular in person. I felt like Wild Eagle could have used a few of those. I wonder what kind if ridiculious nickname the CP fan boys will give this thing, Gatey? Keeper? Keepsey? Wingy? I feel gross thinking about it .
  13. ^True. Reports are now coming out that Mathieu is considering staying at LSU and potentially returning to the team in 2013 if he can get eligible and "cleared" by university officials. You gotta give the guy some credit if that's what he actually does, transferring to a FCS school for one year then entering the draft would certainly be the easiest thing to do after the success he has had, but staying at the school where you have been dismissed from the team and trying to make amends with the program who initially gave you a chance takes a lot of guts. I think LSU will still be really good, but his absence certainly is a set back that they can't afford against Alabama.
  14. Great pictures man, I'm still kicking my self for never making it to this park. Decent looking place for whatever it's worth now.
  15. And Kings Island and Cedar Point are more than 200 miles apart.....
  16. ^haha, yeah I just watched a few off-ride videos and it does have the "roar" but being isolated up on the hill I guess it doesn't really matter. I don't remember from my rides either, so I guess it wasn't that big of a deal.
  17. Turns out he really didn't give a shit.....
  18. ^Duh, they had to tear a ride out. This will probably be the last coaster they ever build at Cedar Point without adding a boardwalk, or re-purpose a parking lot, or removing the antique cars, or tearing down the employee dorms . You sure about Wild Eagle? I could have sworn it was silent, but maybe I just didn't notice it.
  19. Have any of the recent B&M's had the roar? I can't remember a new B&M ride built in the past 10 years that had the roar so I just assumed that the "silent" track was standard at this point unless specially requested for some reason.
  20. I still haven't gotten around to going to Wild Adventures and it's only like 2 hours away from me but it looks like it finally might be worth a trip. Might have to check out the Halloween event this year.
  21. The Lakers will obviously be good but I still think they will have trouble with OKC, they still don't have anyone to match up with Durant or Westbrook. Should be an exciting series if it happens.
  22. Don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet or not but there should be some great views from the lift hill looking over the lake.
  23. Look like it will be a great addition to Cedar Point. I didn't love the Wild Eagle but it was a lot of fun and should be a huge crowd pleaser for the massive crowds at Cedar Point. I'm glad to see them incorperating the interactive elements at the front gate, that should be a specatucular visual for people entering the park (or shorten lines at Maverick 0.
  24. These pictures really show the terrain nature of this beasts, it's amazing how close to the trees some of these elements come. This thing will be absolutely insane.
