  1. The two new Rita's Ice locations are in Route 76 and near the Soak City Entrance. The Mad Mouse restrooms are still on the map, though I'd assume it's just a mistake. They're also bring the basketball game back to Route 76. Ugh, do we need more basketballs bouncing around the park? Let us know if you find anything else worth noting.
  2. ^ Even if Intamin was still working with Cedar Fair, most of their coaster options are either too expensive or wouldn't be a good fit for VF. Plus, I'm pretty sure that their reliability issues are why CF they dropped them (especially the i305 incident in 2013). Not trying to sound negative, just being realistic.
  3. Granted, but no one sees it. I wish for coaster season to arrive sooner.
  4. Not really sure if that would mean something because even if they aren't planning on using that area as future waterpark space, they might just use asphalt anyway to save money. On another note, Dave Frazier tweeted a while ago that Subway will be back this year, and that we might see new games somewhere to replace the ones they demolished for the slide tower. My guess is Subway will take over an existing food stand somewhere in the park, and if there are new games, I'm not sure where they'd put those.

  6. ^ I wouldn't buy into that video because he doesn't have any factual basis behind that statement. I'd like to see Cedar Fair work with Intamin again just as much as the next person, but I unfortunately doubt it.
  7. So, at the rate they're going, I'm thinking Twisted Colossus will probably be open sometime in June as long as there aren't any major setbacks. The construction progress is going well, and the ride itself looks visually stunning .
  8. ^ Cedar Fair is not going to give all its parks RMCs next year because it's not financially possible, and not necessary. Anyway, I think that B&M is the most likely option since they've been Cedar Fair's go-to manufactuter for the past several years. A huge B&M like Gatekeeper or Banshee is out of the question, but they could probably get a small invert, floorless, wing coaster for ~$15 million, though I hope it's not a wing coaster because Valleyfair could use something on the intense side. By the way, where did you hear that Kings Dominion is considering Intamin?
  9. If Valleyfair had a passholder preview day, maybe on the weekend before the park opens to the public, I would definitely go, but VF's new attractions for this year don't open until Memorial Day weekend, so probably not this year. If we get a new coaster or new flat ride in 2016, maybe they could have a preview day then.
  10. If this is legitimate, then I'm predicting either an RMC woodie or Iron Streak in 2016 or 2017.
  11. Found this concept art of the splash pad that Kings Dominion is getting this year on their website. I'm assuming that Valleyfair's splash pad will be identical to this one. It is relatively small, but I guess it's an improvement on the old one.
  12. Granted, but they now have policies that require OTSRs on every coaster. I wish for a ride on Intimidator 305.
  13. Two things. 1) Its concept art and speculation. Wait and see. 2) Airtime is not determined by restraints in the least. By that logic, Maverick has no airtime. "Airtime" simply means the sensation of negative g-force, not physically coming out of your seat. Does El Toro not have airtime when you're stapled, which is every time? Yeah, I guess it'll still have airtime, but I don't see the point of OTSRs on this coaster since all the other clones have done just fine with only lap bars.
  14. Read on another coaster site that Tempesto will most likely have OTSRs in addition to the lapbars (probably similar to the ones in the leaked concept art). If that is true, then there goes any hope of airtime .
  15. SlingShot just made its first test shot earlier today.
  16. I think everyone's hopes for short opening day lines for Fury 325 are getting a little too high. This ride is getting huge amounts of local and national attention, so a 1-2 hour wait on opening day is not out of the question. It might have 20-40 minute wait times later in the season, but I'd expect people to flock to this ride once it opens.
  17. Looks like the official announcement will be on March 21st.
  18. Granted, but they will have individual lap bars instead of buzz bars, and the ride ops will staple you. I wish for more friends.
  19. Which slides are you guys looking forward to more? I personally can't decide right now because both of them have their strong points. Breakers Pipeline (trapdoor slides) will be definitely be exciting due to the sudden drop. Even though they'll probably count down the drop Steel Venom style, it would be better if they dropped you at random. Meanwhile, Breakers Plunge will be the 7th tallest slide of its kind (freefall body slides), and is almost three times taller than the existing speed slides. I'm actually not sure which one will intimidate the GP more. What do you think?
  20. ...and then they all went out of business because the GP liked the mega park more than the individual parks, so they refused to go. Meanwhile, at Cedar Point...
  21. Excalibur - Valleyfair
  22. Saw this on Screamscape. SkyScreamer just had its media day, and it sounds like they're already teasing a new ride that will come in 2016. If they're teasing this early, that could be a good sign .
  23. No, WPOA is owned by the Radisson Hotel it is attached to. Regardless, I don't see MOA getting a waterpark anytime soon.
  24. Mall of America is currently undergoing an expansion, but there are no plans for a waterpark as far as I know. Besides, there is a waterpark called Water Park of America just up the road.
