Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I really think that they are removing Mantis. I think it would be hard to market new floorless trains and a new coat of paint as a new ride. To the GP, they would simply see it as an update to the current ride, but not a completely new ride. I know that Six Flags markets the RMC conversions as new rides, but that is because they completely changed the layout of them. If they were to do that for Mantis, then I would say it could be marketed as a new ride, but they probably won't change the layout of Mantis at all. -

Opening Day, 1972 Hello, my name is John Himmer and I live in California, but I went on a businesses trip to Columbus, Ohio and it turns out there was a small amusement park there called Bennyland! It just so happened to be the park's opening day on the last day of my trip, so I decided to go and visit the park on my last day in Columbus. I think it was worth the visit. The park had a nice charm to it! I ended up riding all rides, except for Rotor. It was broken down all day. It looked like a fun ride too. I enjoyed my day and I even took photos of my trip, so here are the photos that I took! I really liked the main entrance into the park! I heard that the newest roller coaster was Western Expedition, so I ran straight for that ride when the park opened! I took this picture while going up the second lift hill on Western Expedition! I really liked the theming on this ride! I decided to ride Thunder Run next. It was a great wooden coaster! I'm glad I rode the two roller coasters in the park before I ate. I think I would have thrown up after eating all that food if I rode them after I ate. Sadly, Rotor was closed all day. I wish I got the chance to ride it. The Ferris Wheel gave some great views of the park! I decided to make my last ride be on Thunder Run. I took this shot from on top of the lift hill. Overall, I had a great time at Bennyland! I would say that Western Expedition is my favorite coaster I have ever ridden! I would give it a 9/10! As for Thunder Run, I think it was a solid wooden coaster, so I would give it a 8/10! I will have to make sure to come back to Bennyland if I'm ever in Columbus, Ohio again! -John Himmer. -

That is a very strange layout for a B&M Wing Coaster. It's not horrible, but it just seems unrealistic. I also think the square shaped bodies of water are ugly. I like the theme and the colors for the coaster! I hope to see more of this park and I also hope to see it improve! -
April 5th, 2004 In just two months, Six Flags Wild Northwest will open up for the 5th year of operation! June 5th will be the opening day for Samurai and it will also be the opening day for the park! The park recently announced that on the 5th, 15th, and 25h of each month of the summer, the park will have a special event for season pass holders and for people who are willing to purchase an event ticket. The event will be called 5 after 12 and the park will be open from midnight-5 AM on these selected dates. The park said that they will have certain rides opened during this event, fireworks, and music concerts. They said specific details will be released at a later time. The park opening will be June 5th, so make sure to visit the park that day and you could experience the first special event of the season! The park's new logo for the 5th anniversary! Sadly, I will be moving to Chicago before the park opens for the 2004 season, so I hope someone will post a TR for the 2004 opening day of Six Flags Wild Northwest! -Josh Himmer.

Your park looks great! I really like the wooden coaster, Thunderbolt! I would suggest cropping your pictures, so they don't show the side menu or the thing on top. -

Well, based on your description, this sounds like a cool park. The only thing that might be wrong with it would be that Disco rides didn't exist in 1999. It still sounds really awesome though! -
I could care less about the name and layout of this ride. I only care that it will the first RMC coaster on the West Coast, so it will be the closest to me! I wouldn't mind if the it was the longest RMC coaster, but it really isn't the end of the world if it's not. I don't know why anyone would complain about getting a RMC coaster and at least the name isn't going to be Iron/Steel Colossus.

The reason I haven't been updating in awhile is because I have been working on a secret project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ August 24th, 2003 The park has released this press release about the park's 5th anniversary 5 Years of Wild Fun! Hello, I am Logan Winton, the PR manager for Six Flags Wild Northwest. 2004 will be the park's 5th anniversary and hear at Six Flags Wild Northwest, we would like to make sure it's a spectacular year! Throughout the year, we will offer special events on specific days to make sure everyone can join in on the huge celebration! Oh, and there is more to come. Make sure to stay tuned for a gigantic announcement on August 28th, 2003! I like how the park cares enough to put on small celebrations throughout the year for an anniversary! 2004 could be the best year for the park! -Josh Himmer.

Bennyland at night looks really cool! -
August 23rd, 2003 Peter Butler has released this statement! The time is near for us to make a huge announcement! All we can say is in 4 days, you'll be screaming! This ride is part of our three year, multi-million dollar investment to this park, so we can make this not just a park for the locals, but a destination for people all across the region to enjoy! This park has spent a lot of money in these three years, but it was all planned out. This was always the plane since the beginning. We wanted to add a medium sized roller coaster, a family section, and finally, something very large! You could say it's gigantic, I suppose! This is the final step into making Six Flags Wild Northwest the #1 theme park in the Northwest! I'm glad to be apart of the team who helped make this all happen. I'll leave you guys with one hint. "This one might be the biggest we've ever seen!"
