  1. *Aggressively waits for more info from the RMC booth* Anyone else think that Six Flags should have Premier on speed-dial for lift chains? I hope that SBF/Visa waverider will be available in larger capacities/elevations for larger parks. It looks like a very fun ride that the Adult GP will very easily gloss over at that size--leaving it for the kiddos. And now Mack has a compact shuttle coaster. Countdown until Six Flags buys them in bulk along with the Skyline Attractions Skywarp (if only for those without the Larson model). Speaking of the Skywarp, I know the Larson SuperLoops have terrible elbow/leg room so I wonder how the Skywarp will compare. Same with the double Immelmans. The load/unload procedure also intrigues me here--especially as a former ride op. Anyone else think that the American Flag'd PTC train resembled (slightly) GCI's Millennium Flyers?
  2. The brokenness can be explained by use. Presumably, the glasses are not fully inspected before/after the sanitization. Before the ride, the glasses could be grabbed hastily and at the end of the ride, dumped into a large bucket with as much care. I can't say much to the quality of the glasses, but they may break easily. What are the glasses' life expectancy? And there are always those that generally misuse the glasses.
  3. Where's the fun in that? Besides, did you honestly expect ImNotOneOfYou to respond with anything less?
  4. ^Agreed. How does one change one of those cans????
  5. Mean Streak is closed. Mean Streak is being RMC'd ^Has yet to be officially announced despite a copious amount of construction done, but not BGW Tempesto levels. IAAPA is next week. RMC will be at IAAPA. Possible announcement?
  6. My guess would be they did so because of people on the ride. Spinning around at 40 mph and hitting a tree branch with your leg probably wouldn't be super fun. Looks like they may be working on the entrance/exit walkways. All the more room for trash cans
  7. Possibly looking at a trip in early/mid-August next year. Spend 2-3 days at the park. How busy should I expect it? Visited back in July 09 and crowds were ok. Though a blackout at the park caused me to get stuck on Iron Wolf's final break for 45 minutes.
  8. ^If that's all it was, it would be even more of a rug pull than the 2017 Kings Dominion announcement. #ReallyMoreComing #SorryItsfor2018 #MooseOutFrontShouldHaveToldYou
  9. Forbidden Journey at least has a decent mix of physical effects (such as the Dementors) and video stuff. Still, my favorite rides at the resort are Spider-man (which has a lot of video), Mummy, and Men in Black. Here, here. Forbidden Journey's my favorite ride at Universal partly due to the combination of the two. Gringotts is fun, but Forbidden Journey's better because of the practical. It's also one of my biggest complaints about Transformers. There's no physical sets--just helter-skelter Michael Bay inspired CGI overload that gives the rider no chance to take in everything. Speaking of Gringotts, who provided the coaster track? Was it Dynamic or Vekoma?
  10. Is Sol Spin fresh from the factory floor, or is it a Eurasian relocation like Carowinds' Electro-Spin?
  11. GCI was the group in charge of the retrack right? It would make sense if WoF bought Millennium Flyers. Though I could also very easily see it being new PTCs. Probably not the 360s though (as awesome as those would be).
  12. no US park would ever created the "ball of yarn" of rides of Grona Lund. US parks view compacting stuff like that has an accident waiting to happen.ie...objects falling from riders and the inevitable lawsuit It also looks like garbage and is poor park design done out of desperation. Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America says Hi. NU may be no Grona Lund, but they have coasters bobbing and weaving around attractions and over walkways. And if you look over at that thread, there is constant talk about adding another such coaster that bobs & weaves throughout the park. While the park has removed attractions to make room for others, the removed attractions were at the end of their life spans. All CP needs is a little creativity in coaster design.
  13. If the ride goes through the Hulk treatment, hopefully it would return dueling again ( ) and in the proper colors of the dragons it's supposed to represent (Chinese Fireball and Hungarian Horntail). It confused me as to why it wasn't repainted in the first place. But the removal of the attraction altogether would allow more room for the rumored Ministry of Magic/Fantastic Beasts expansion sector if they also ditched the rest of Lost Continent. Or was MoM rumored for USO?
  14. The Looping Starship being removed to make room for a Soak City expansion has been around for nearly as long as the "removal of Excalibur for something else" rumor. I also heard that Supercat would be removed this off-season along with Enterprise to enter into refurbishments. That didn't pan out, so until the park makes an announcement, I'll put the stone and chisel down for now. But yes, I eventually see LS being removed for a Soak City expansion. Hopefully that's after we get our next coaster.
  15. Disney/Universal: Exit through the gift shop Kings Dominion: Enter through the gift shop that has no relation at all to the theme of the attraction and has no business being the entrance to any sort of ride at all.
  16. If the ride lines are that bad, I'd hate to see the maze queues. I was at HHN Orlando Friday night where (Other than Rockit), the longest stand-by wait was 40 minutes while that time was the shortest I ever saw for any of the mazes. Though I could very easily be wrong about how similar/different the two events are in what draws the crowds in.
  17. Found at the entrance to Corkscrew at Valleyfair. Yes, this is the entrance, with the arrows pointing to the exit 5 feet away. WTF?
  18. Height limits are not always the park's fault. Sometimes it's manufacturer policy, and sometimes it's due to someone falling off/getting injured on a ride in throwadartatamapistan that changes the safety rules and guidelines everywhere. While on occasion it is the park's decision to have a shorter height limit, most of the time it's based on ride type & manufacturer. Like how most B&M coasters have a 54" requirement but Intamins only a 48". Now it doesn't seem fair if a kid could ride the uber intense speed demon that is TTD at CP but not the I can take a nap on this ride that is Gatekeeper? And as a ride op that worked a 52" requirement ride, I'm looking at these kids everyday that can ride everything else in the park but my ride. I don't know what's worse in those cases: the sad look on the child's face, or the anger in the parent's voice.
  19. ^Congo Falls is close to Invertigo. We all know the troubles these things have. It's a good sized space that they occupy together, perhaps for a small coaster. Possibly even a gate coaster of some kind.
  20. Some last minute questions before/if I visit HHN Friday night. Keep in mind I intend to stick to rides/shows/scarezones instead of conga-lining through the mazes and that I have no idea how long I will be at the park: -What attractions have single-rider lines? How long should I expect to wait for the non-single rider rides? -What are the loose article/locker policies? I plan to just have my wallet, phone, keys, maybe a beanie, and my glasses (maybe my case depending on the policies) shoved into cargo pockets. -Best place to get Butterbeer? Cost? -Cost of the blinky cup specialty drinks? Which is better? -Best times to visit the non-IP houses/Walking Dead? EDIT: -Also, how likely is it to get Chance's autograph if I bring a Sharpie and a napkin?
  21. As in the tree of the world? The thing that connects the 9 realms? Oh yes, very intimidating. Almost as intimidating as renaming Banshee Mantis. Going from Mean Streak to Yggdrasil feels like a step down.
  22. Clearly you've never been to any the Orlando parks. But still, daaaayuuuum. Parking on the grass?!
  23. ^I could be wrong about what Prozach is implying, but I think he's talking about the quality of the food vs. the quantity of time spent waiting for said food. As for me, I'd rather get my hand stamped and head out to the nearest pub than wait in that long of a line for park food.
  24. With this announcement for 2018, I wonder if the Really More Coming thing still applies, or if it was referring to this announcement? Anyways, RMC Hurler coming in 2018. I wonder if the Carowinds Hurler will get the same treatment?
