  1. When I was there I December, I'd have ridden it more than once if it weren't for the uncomfort collars. This would be a welcome change. I also wonder if they'll be able to lower the minimum rider height back to previews levels with their removal.
  2. While cleaning out my grandfather's house, we found a newspaper from VJ Day.
  3. ^I know that all too well, Bill. The theater I used to work at would charge adult prices for infants. Imagine how well that worked out sometimes.
  4. While I appreciate the advice Bert, it's unfortunately not an option. The itinerary is based on when I could get into my timeshare in Hershey and it books up fast.
  5. I was able to catch Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey this weekend. It takes itself way too seriously and didn't really know what story it wanted to tell. It had some ideas that would be good to explore in a horror movie. Just not this horror movie. As is: I almost feel as if the film would have been better without using the Winnie the Pooh IP and it was just an excuse now that it is in the public domain. And the director has plans for similar treatments with Bambi and Peter Pan? If this film is any indication, I'll pass.
  6. I'm planning on a 10 day road trip around Pennsylvania in mid-late July. I already have a basic itinerary planned out, but have a couple questions and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations. Friday: Fly to PHL (land about 11am), go to Dutch Wonderland. Stay near Dorney Park Saturday: Dorney, stay in Hershey Sunday: HersheyPark. Stay in Hershey Monday: HP, drive to Knoebels Tuesday: Knoebels, drive to Altoona area Wednesday: DelGrosso’s/Lakemont, drive to Pittsburgh Thursday: Kennywood Friday: Idlewild, Kennywood Saturday: Waldameer, Erie SeaWolves minor league baseball game (in lieu of Pittsburgh Pirates game) Sunday: fly home from PIT Some notes: Time/budget doesn't allow for Sesame Place this trip. I'm getting the Palace Platinum Pass (visiting PA parks and Adventureland, IA). Any advice for navigating this as I've heard it's an absolute shit show? Budget doesn't allow for line skipping options Regarding Tuesday night/Wednesday morning: is it a better idea to drive from Knoebels at night or the next morning? Lakemont doesn't open til 4:30 on Wednesday and DelGrosso's doesn't seem to warrant that much time spent at the park. Alternatively, is there any things to do recommendations in the Altoona area while I wait for Lakemont to open? As the trip gets closer, I'll post more specific questions in the parks' respective threads. Anything generally speaking that I should know when booking/planning?
  7. Tonight's dinner included bacon-wrapped cheese curds and a cheese curd-topped burger. The burger wasn't that good, but I'll definitely eat the bacon curds again.
  8. As this is the first WDW attraction with mandatory bunnies, how well does that system seem to work on a scale of Cedar Fair to Velocicoaster? Does the Shanghai version also have mandatory bunnies?
  9. Well whatever it is, I hope it's not crazy awesome enough for me to question why I'm planning a Pennsylvania trip for this year instead of next.
  10. Please enlighten me how the Disney Springs M&Ms store adding characters based on Mars chocolate characters has anything to do with Hersheypark?
  11. I'm getting 2 teeth pulled next week.
  12. The Gerstlauer spinner at the Mall of America last Friday. I had to do some shopping at the mall and wanted to do 1 ride on my way out of the mall. I wanted that ride to be the Log Chute (because duh), but it was closed all day. I'm aware the ride has some odd hours due to maintenance/staffing and is mostly limited to weekends. In the past, the weekend included Fridays. Just apparently not the Friday I was there, dammit. Anyways, got some good spinning on the coaster.
  13. For some reason I had Foster the People's 'Pumped up Kicks" stuck in my head at work today. I'm not a big fan of the song as it's happier than any song about a school shooting should be. But what really weirded me out about it today was that it came on the radio on my drive home from work tonight.
  14. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It.
  15. This Juicy Lucy was stuffed not only with cheese, but with bacon bits as well. Bacon grease also lubricated the buns.
  16. ^RMC manufactured the track for the Skywarp at SFDK. It wouldn't surprise me if Skyline continued to outsource the manufacturing of the track to RMC.
  17. ^Did she though? She probably got tired of all the shullbit on Earth and went to join her father on whatever planet he's from.
  18. There's a sports team that, since their inception, has always lost on Christmas Day. So when they finally win on the holiday, it will be their first No "L."
  19. Falcon's Fury is still the prototype. The signs around the attraction seem to indicate supply chain issues (which I read as: closed until the roi makes sense). The ride vehicle still appears fully assembled on the tower. Don't know if that's a good sign or bad.
  20. I'd forgotten about this song for a while, and then I heard it while waiting for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Parade.
  21. Last week, I was in Orlando on vacation. This morning, I shoveled wet, heavy snow. There were spots where a squeegee would have been more useful than a shovel. And there's more snow the rest of the week as well. Why couldn't I have been in Florida this week instead?
  22. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. I was able to get an early boarding group and headed there first thing in the morning on Tuesday. And about 15 hours prior, it was Iron Gwazi front row.
  23. Yep. On the old forum, the word filter for locker(s) was fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo. It is my understanding that the new forums can't handle word filters. That, or nobody's bothered to program them back in.
  24. I refuse to let the old forum's best word filter die.
