  1. I heard you guys wanted a flying wingrider..? Well, it's a bit different but I came with this idea: (Click for a bigger size) It's basically a flying version of the free-fly coaster. That combine the freedom of both the flying, the wingrider, and the suspended!
  2. It's time for some miscellaneous creations of mine... When one isn't enough, here is a double spiral-lift! And here it is with its finale support structure. Storyline time : This is the Tree of Life™. The coaster represent two brothers, who are twins and thus share the same DNA (*hint hint* the spiral thing in the middle *hint hint*), and then I don't know, but drops, twists and woo-hoo. ----- On another topic, here's an El Loco with a one of a kind first-drop:
  3. Double-post but a new pic: (E-Coasters Facebook) It's really looking good, isn't it?
  4. 45m and 67m, which is 147ft and 219ft. In comparison, Insane is "only" 35m tall. --- Anyways, great report. Thanks for the pictures and all the nerd-things, I loved it. That reminds me I made a sketch of my own layout for that kind of coaster, back then it was announced at the IAAPA. Take a sneak peek.
  5. Yeah, but don't let Intamin be aware of that.
  6. That kind of coaster (gap in the track) was once tested: It was a total failure, they filled the gap and run it as a normal coaster. (Source: Weird coaster fact thread)
  7. ^ And you confirm the track is clearly smaller than a regular B&M one? Thanks for all these infos dude (and that POV... Awesome! ).
  8. Megalite-like layout confirmed: Source via Ameworld After the strange stengel-dive thingy there will be a regular camel-back, but then a right turn instead of a left one, then the serie of mini S-turn that we can see in the last pic posted above me, then a left turn to a serie of bunny hops and brakes. Sounds good.
  9. Yes we are. And from HZGarfield again (the one that told us it would be a B&M), we learn that it will have a steeper drop than the Vekoma version (Oziris style), and a pop of air before the brakes. EDIT : RCDB has updated the ride entry:
  10. Actually not that much. See how at some points T-express have track with enough clearence underneath and only lateral bracing:
  11. ^^ Thanks! ^ The good ol' Construction Kit. I made the layout using N², imported it in NL1, then through the CK and finally into NL2 as both a .3ds and an invisible track.
  12. It will have the same as those on Banshee/wing riders, but without the vest.
  13. NL2 is just awesome... Here is the first ride I made with it, called Ramses. It's a Zierer-inspired family coaster. I just love that shot. ______________________ For my second small project/experimentation, I decided to make a RMC wooden coaster (you might have seen it in the Crazy Idea thread). From that pic, it looks like another casual RMC wooden. But it's not. Indeed, It's a world first. Let me indroduce you... To the first ever... Flying wooden coaster Supports for now are the auto-generated ones, and obviously this kind of coaster would need a 100% custom structure, which I'm not ready to do by myself. Hope you enjoyed it, and I think it's not as unrealistic as it sounds, and could be rather interesting in real life!
  14. If the guys at RMC are already crazy, what am I... Here comes the flying wooden coaster. I think it's not as unrealistic as it sounds, and could be rather interesting in real life!
  15. Like that? http://www.parkworld-online.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/1554/New_coaster_concepts_from_Vekoma.html
  16. I like having ideas. Here's some I had over these past years: - A launched flying coaster. That's pretty self-explanatory. It's a flying coaster (picture Stingray) with a hammer launch. The idea came from RideTek and their Thor's Hammer concept, but with it being a flying coaster, I think it adds a thrill. - An Arm-Lift coaster. A more thrilling version of the famous Vekoma's tilt coaster. A giant arm slowly rises up high in the air, from -45° to a pure 90°! That ride also introduced the Overcurve, a new inversion of mine. It alos features a Banana roll, because I though of that move before Takabisha was build, and I still think it's a cool element. - A splash battle/Interactive ride mega mash-up. See the pic for description. - A Indoor Giant Screen Freefall Ride. Again, see the pic for further infos. - A 3S-carried coaster. What's better for a terrain coaster than to take a ropeway? - The Interactive Bracelet (no pic, it's just a plastic bracelet). Here's the description as I wrote it back when I imagined the concept : Then I saw what Disney did with their Magic Band... It's basically that!! And WhiteWater West did it too. Although they can't have stole that from me, as I haven't put that on the web beforehand, it's still quite infuriating. - The Interactive Coaster. Two options. Either you can have an interative coaster that give you a score at the end of the ride (that you could save with the Interactive Bracelet), or two racing ones. And with the racing coasters, the whole ride would change its behavior according to your performance. No guns here, but your hands. You'll have a camera in front of each two riders (as seen on BlueFire for instance, or many other rides), and it will be able to tell if you have your hands up or not. The more you'll have your hands in the air, the more you'll score! For the dueling version, either it's a powered coaster and so the speed is fully flexible, or either it would be a coaster with a bunch of launch sections (such as Fiorano GT Challenge at Ferrari World) that could change their speed as well. I send that idea to Mack Rides (could be a cheap way to bring a ride to a new level), but they replied that it would not be possible due to the laws and restrictions which prohibit putting your hand out of the train. Well. Alright, I think it's enough for now.
  17. I've seen it multiple times today, not sure which one posted it first.
  18. Look safe 'cause it lands on water.
  19. Check again, it's pretty clear from this picture: A "special connection" (which is basically a pivot) or a lead car is basically the same thing, except one has a row on it and the other doesn't.
  20. I heard it was a matter of forces (too strong forces in the first row) but I'm no sure. That's how nearly all coaster trains work. That "special connection" is in the front on B&M, Intamin and most of them, and at the back on Arrow/Vekoma.
  21. Blackpool Pleasure Beach used some Pepsi Big One track to build Valhalla's building. As of 2012 before the refurbishment.
  22. ^^ Ha thank you for the video! When I went to Efteling, I saw inside the history museum a picture of Python with a car on it, but I found no infos on the net.
  23. What do they use excel for? Layouts? Do you have any screenshots? I would think AutoCAD or similar would be a much more appropriate tool. They do use AutoCAD for visualization purposes, but beforehand they use Excel for most of the calculus part. I don't have any further infos, that's just what Chad Miller (one of the founders of TGG) told me when I asked him what did they use to design coasters. And that has been confirmed by a guy working at GCI (AyTrane, you might know him for his amazing NoLimits creations. And by the way , that's him that design all the GCI presentations in NoLimits. As they can export their real datas, their creations looks very realistic). He said Excel was used a lot in the industry.

  25. Thanks for your comments guys, really! Here's the POV: Enjoy.
