  1. There is not really anything "bad" about HUSS rides (from a rider standpoint. Now a maintenance standpoint my be a little different.) My only problem with HUSS rides is that most of them tend to be a "Spin-N-Puke" kind of ride, and that just doesn't sit well with me. I can not do rides that have a large amount of spinning involved, so that rules out almost all of HUSS rides for me. I rode maXair at Cedar Point once... While yes, I did enjoy the ride, it was not something my stomach would let me ride again.
  2. My tallest coaster is still: Kingda Ka. Thankfully, we will be heading to Florida once the new "Worlds Tallest Roller Coaster" Opens! Can't wait to actually get to ride a roller coaster over 400ft... Well 500ft, that is more than just a one trick pony!
  3. WOW! That looks awesome! Such a great feature on the coaster. Having it in (almost) pitch black dark must make it even that much more terrifying. Hopefully more future coasters will adopt this feature!! Thanks for sharing!!
  4. Well, time to revive a dead thread!! Sorry! But I have some questions about an upcoming Schlitterbahn Kansas trip, and did not want to start a new thread! We are making a trip to Schlitterbahn Kansas the first weekend in August. Sadly, we have to visit the park on a Saturday, which I am sure is the worst time to visit the park. Having never been to the park I have a few questions. 1.) I know online you can buy a reservation for Verruckt, but is it worth it? Source.Again, having never been to the park, and the main reason we are going is to ride Verruckt. Would it be worth it to make a reservation in advance to at least be guaranteed at least one ride on it?? Or has the hype of the slide kind of died down to where it is not as hard to get a ride in on the day of your visit. 2.) For those of you who have been to the park, or frequent the park what kind of wait times can we expect?? We are trying to make the most of our visit, and want to know if we need to plan to spend the entire day at the park, or if half of a day is enough. 3.) Are water shoes allowed on the slides? I know this sounds silly, but a lot of water parks do not allow people to wear water shoes on the water slides. However, Schlitterbahn sells a ticket plus water shoe combo online. So just curious if they actually allow you to wear the shoes on the slides? Thanks in advance for any advice you all can provide!!
  5. For those who are still complaining/Unsure of the Dive Machine concept. (From the BGW Thread.) Sorry, I keep reading "these rides are intense and forceful" over and over again, I think something in my brain broke. I hope everyone is aware the airtime you feel on the first drop is plain old weightlessness, which is in fact lack of force. SheiKra and Griffon both pull 4G's... that's not really a lack of force. That's actually a decent amount of g-force. And we know Cedar Point wouldn't build anything less than what those two do.
  6. This statement though. That would be like someone having a car wreck in a Chevy, so you want to steer clear of all Chevy's. If it were a Gerstlauer problem I'm pretty sure all Gerstlauer roller coaster would be closed till the investigation was over. Like what happened with Intamin Drop Towers after the Superman accident.
  7. 1.) Not sure how Maverick doesn't flow very well. 2.) Outlaw Run is ALMOST the perfect coaster. It is just so freaking short. I mean, a roller coaster that is 35 seconds from the top of the lift to the brake run is really short. But it is an amazing 35 seconds!!!
  8. For those who are still complaining/Unsure of the Dive Machine concept. (From the BGW Thread.)
  9. THANK YOU!!! This is what I have been trying to tell people in the Cedar Point Thread for the longest time. They just don't seem to get it. Dive Machines are a much "over looked" coaster by coaster enthusiast. They are great rides!! Glad you had fun! Can't wait for part 3 of your photos! The photos were great! Thanks for sharing!
  10. Still makes me sad that I missed the chance to ride Namtab when it was at SFOT! Hopefully people will enjoy Namtab while it's at the park!
  11. Such a stunning ride, and great photos. Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear it is a good addition to the park!! I wish more parks would invest the time... (and money) to have rides themed this well. (Obviously aside from Disney, Herschend, Universal and a few others.) Theming can take what would not normally be an "amazing ride," and turn it into an amazing masterpiece.
  12. Very true! Maverick is one of my all time favorite coasters!! I can't wait to get out there next month and try it with the new restraints!!!
  13. I think one of the most annoying things to me is when you are stuck in line in front of, or behind someone who thinks they know EVERYTHING about theme parks, and anything theme park related... When in reality they are full of SH!T. AKA: The GP. For Example: You are stuck in line for Titan at SFOT, and one person from the group in front of you is trying to convince everyone they are with that Titan is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. That its supports had to be drilled 1,500ft in the ground to support the 500ft drop when the wind blows. Or that only 5 people have ever died on the ride, but it is safe to ride now because Six Flags put seat belts on the trains to keep more people from flying out on the 500ft drop. . . Even more annoying is when everyone in the group is going along with it saying things like "Yeah, I heard about that." Or "OMG! WAS THAT THIS COASTER?!?! I THOUGHT IT WAS BATMAN!! I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN RIDE THIS ANY MORE." UGH. Seriously that entire conversation happened last time I was at SFOT. I swore I would never wait in another line again. I can not handle the sheer stupidity from people sometimes. It's even harder to just stand there and not say anything to them, because you know it will end up in an argument, and it will be like arguing with a brick wall. Ugh, thank god for parks having VIP Tours, because I can't handle waiting in line with the GP anymore.
  14. If I could make the perfect roller coaster, I would take the first half of Maverick from Lift(launch)hill to the tunnel brake run, but when it entered the launch tunnel it would become Revenge of the Mummy from Universal Studios Orlando, then where Revenge of the Mummy does the final drop into the "fire pit" the coaster would do a similar drop, into Top Thrill Dragsters launch, and top hat. . . And then into the brake run. Also, it would some how keep the heavy Mummy theme like Revenge Of The Mummy. I mean... if you going to dream, go big or go home right?
  15. After the first droup or during?! I'm with you though, the entire coaster was rough.
  16. Upadate: Injuries up to 498 people, and one person has died. However, they think they know what caused the fire now. Source.
  17. Glad to see this coaster getting a new home instead of being left to rust in a field somewhere!
  18. My list for the time being: - Texas Giant before RMC got their hands on the coaster. - Mean Streak. Ugh, can RMC PLEASE get their hands on this coaster like they did with Texas Giant!? - Arkansas Twister (Magic Springs) - Not something I ever have the desire to ride again. Once was enough. - Almost all SLC's. I am sure I will think of some more, but for now this is my list!
  19. Thanks for the trip report! It is awesome to see other cultures enjoy themselves at theme parks!! Sometimes we get so focused on what is going on in the US that we forget there are other countries, other parks, other cultures, and other people out there who enjoy the same things we do!
  20. The way that the ride works looks amazing. However, I would vomit.
  21. Okay, it's official. . . I love the colors of this ride. At first I wasn't so sure, but seeing it fully constructed. . . I think it's really pretty! Surely I'm not the only one???
  22. That was the first thing I thought. It is amazing that no one died.
  23. 1.) Millennium Force - 6,595 ft. 2.) Mean Streak - 5,427 ft. 3.) Nitro - 5,394 ft 4.) Titan - 5,312 ft. 5.) Magnum XL-200 - 5,106 ft. (Thankfully we have a trip to Kings Island coming up, so this list will change a little once we ride Beast, and Diamondback!)
  24. TPR word filter. Others include fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo (l_ocker) and YOLOcoaster (YOLOcoaster) OH! Wow. I knew of the other word filters. I just had no idea about this one. Thanks for filling me in!
