  1. I recently rode Gatekeeper for the first time, and I really enjoyed it. I don't know why anyone calls Gatekeeper "boring" or "forceless." Gatekeeper was a lot of fun. It is by no means one of the best coaster in the world. But it did make my top 20 list. I feel like those who complain about Gatekeeper, and dive machines have seriously never been on them. Because anyone who has been on them know that they are good rides. Also, when we were there the GP seemed to LOVE Gatekeeper. Everyone I over heard talking about it wanted to ride it again. They just didn't want to wait in the line.
  2. So disappointed by the layout. Ugh. It's just going to be so foreceless. I mean... you can tell just by looking at it. They should have just put another Windseeker in its place. No one is even going to ride this. It will be a "one and done." /EndTypicalCoasterEnthusiastsComplaints Personally, I think the coaster looks great. Yes the first half very much resembles SheiKra. Which leads me to think... maybe it is real, because it seems like something B&M would do. On the other hand it makes me think it is fake, because I feel like Cedar Point would want something a little more creative. However, the second half of the ride looks very unique. I love the Dive loop, into what looks like a mix between half of a corkscrew and a zero-g-roll. Real, or not... it looks like a really solid coaster, and I would enjoy it!! But then again... maybe I'm not as jaded as other coaster enthusiast.
  3. OMG!!! WHERE IS THE VERTICAL LOOP?!?! WHY IS THERE NO VERTICAL LOOP?? I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY WOULD DO THIS TO US. UGH I'M NEVER GOING TO CEDAR POINT AGAIN. In all seriousness though, *if* this turns out to be the real layout... no complaints from me. It looks like a solid addition to the park.
  4. ^ ^ ^ ^ I'm join the "That's not real" group. Everything just looks so poorly done. Just look at power tower for example. It looks awful, and I'm not just talking about the image quality. The ride itself looks poorly made. Cedar Point would do better than that. So IMO... Not real.
  5. Where did this rumor of a vertical loop come from? My thought exactly.
  6. Last coaster was Top Thrill Dragster. Ugh. I want to go back. ASAP.
  7. To me it just looks like someone took half of a giant corkscrew, and mixed it with half of an inline twist.
  8. ^ Personally I would HATE to see a launched Dive Coaster. To me part of a Dive Coaster is the slow climb up the lift hill. It builds the anticipation knowing that every foot you climb is a foot you're going to be falling straight down (Not counting pullout obviously.) Launching into a holding brake not only kills the pace of the ride, but it kills the anticipation factor. IMO: A launch on a Dive Coaster defeats the point of a Dive Coaster, unless it's a Mid-course launch like Maverick, and doesn't launch into a holding brake.
  9. It would just have to be a really wide loop! Not only do they seem very doable... They very much so seem like something Cedar Point would do. I sure hope your guess is right!!! That would be a hell of a ride!
  10. I'm still going with the worlds tallest and fastest Dive Machine.
  11. Last new coaster in my coaster count was Gatekeeper. However, got Diamondback, and Banshee on the same trip!!
  12. That drop tower makes me want to cry just looking at it. No thanks! *Hates drop towers*
  13. Are you kidding? I agree. I would gladly pay money to have some of these photos in print. They are simply amazing.
  14. ^ ^ If that turns out to be real I will be slightly disappointed. I was hoping for more of a speed slide style slide. Either way it will be a unique water slide to be that large, and on a cruise ship.
  15. ^^ The amount of detail on this coaster though. For example that last photo... what they did with one of those footers is awesome. I wish more parks would them coasters this well.
  16. Not sure if a Vekoma that is over 200ft tall is something that should ever even be mentioned.
  17. ^ I think with this coaster there is so much theming, that it seems like construction is going much slower or seems like it has "stalled." I'm sure there is specific theming stuff they want done before and after each track installation. So the actual track installation is taking longer than most coasters because here they will install track, then stop track installation to work on scenery near the track, then install more track, then stop track installation to work on nearby scenery, then install more track... and repeat. I may be wrong, but that is what seems most logical to me.
  18. Sorry for the double post, but I found what I think would be an awesome new coaster for Magic Springs. I saw this in a previous thread, and thought it seemed like the perfect fit for MS. It has a fun, thrilling layout. It has a small footprint. Compared to other coasters I am sure it is not nearly as expensive. I would love to see MS get one of these coasters. Thoughts?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EmaM0cUAFY
  19. So glad to see a park actually building one of these. I remember seeing the concept for it a while back, and I thought it looked like a decent attraction for a small park! Hopefully it rides as good as it looks! Also, I like the new restraints. Very B&Mesque. Now if only Magic Springs could get a coaster like this!!
  20. Isn't this pretty much the same thing that happens on SheiKra when they are loading, and dispatching two trains at a time? They both leave the station at the same time, and one waits outside the station for the lift to clear before the next train advances to the lift hill?? I feel like if they are building a Dive Machine, they will use the dual loading station like SheiKra, Maverick, TTD..
  21. I'm going to laugh and then cry if Cedar Point isn't even getting a new coaster for next year, but instead it's getting VR on Mean Streak or Corkscrew.
