1. So freaking true. These style drop towers scare me more than any of the "larger" company drop towers like Intamin, or S&S. But the airtime is some amazing airtime!! Great pictures! Glad you got to enjoy Flying Turns!! Can't wait to see the rest of your trip report!!
2. I always have, and always will prefer Top Thrill Dragster. Not only am I partial to it because it was the first, and I feel like Six Flags was just trying to make a better copy, and failed... But TTD is smoother.. MUCH smoother... The trains look 100% better than KK's. The launch is to me much smoother, and more powerful.... Obviously the lap bars only are a huge plus, I really like the view from the top of TTD's tower, as oppose to looking out over a bunch of trees... And now I am just nitpicking, but I really just prefer TTD's color scheme to Kingda Ka's colors! Now if only Cedar Point would add a drop tower to TTD like Six Flags did with KK!
3. To add to this I will say the same thing I said in the Dollywood thread. It is not needed, not necessary, and I assure you most people probably would not even care. RMC Coasters are all about the elements, and the airtime... Not a "gimmick" like floorless coaster trains.
4. Sorry for the double post... But... Looks like the coaster is almost ready!! Can't wait to try this out! I feel like this is one of the most over looked projects of 2015, yet also one of the most intriguing. I mean... it is the first wooden coaster in the world to have a 90 degree hill, and the first wooden shuttle coaster... (I think.) Also, a few comments from ZDT Amusement park: In regards to testing, and opening: In regards to there being no chain in on the chain lift yet: Source for photos, and comments. 90* on a wooden coaster!! Such a tight fit!! Lift hill!! For all you chain lift enthusiast.
5. Am I missing something here?? (Which is possible. I've been really busy with school.) All the renderings I have seen have been pretty standard B&M trains.
6. I think he was a special ed teacher. Which makes this all really awkward. From the articles I read, he had just accepted a job as a guidance counselor, and would be starting for the first time this semester.
7. I'm starting to think everyone is right... I really do think this is going to Canada's Wonderland. I think Cedar Point is just storing it for them, till they have the space.
8. Nope... it's easy. You just need to measure the spine size variations, compare them to the nearest object with known dimensions, then check the acute obtusity of the isosceles tangent, divide by pi and carry the 2. I did all of these calculations this morning on my TI-83 Plus and then used Autocad to render everything out, this is what I came up with... I'm good at math. I'm smart I still hope this is the real layout. It looks amazing. Some unique elements for a dive machine.
9. Can't wait to see how an RMC launched coaster rides!!!
10. Did you look at the last page??? There is already a picture.
11. "The view from my Cedar Point hotel room this morning..." (kbups53 @ Reddit) Oh. Em. Gee... this is really happening!! I really can't wait for our VIP Tour to the park next year. It's been years since I've been on a dive machine and my partner has never been on one. Can't wait for a new experience together! I have no doubt in my mind that this coaster will be a great, thrilling addition to the park.
12. You're welcome for the info! Dollywood does have a "Fast Lane" Style system, however I am not familar with it, so I can not provide you with any advice about it! All I can do is provide you with a link!! . . . I still suggest a VIP Tour! You wont regret it!
13. That track is just so massive compared to Mako's track! (Yes I am fully aware that Dive Machine track is larger than Hyper-Coaster track.) Loving the colors!! (For both the coasters!)
14. SOMEONE DO MY HOMEWORK FOR ME!!!
15. To me, Cedar Point deserves a VIP Tour simply because of how much there is to do. It is awesome to be able to do everything in the park, several times in 8 hours as opposed to having to visit the park on multiple days. I would highly suggest a VIP Tour at Dollywood. If you have never been to the park, or it has been many years since you have been to the park, I would highly suggest it. (See below for information about a Dollywood VIP Tour.) Having not have been there I have no idea the situation that went on with that guy, and the ride operator. To me it just seems fishy. But maybe that's just me. Our wristbands were white, and blue. The white was for unlimited drinks, the blue was for unlimited food. I have known about VIP Tours at parks for many years now, it just never seemed to be something I cared to do. Obviously the older I have gotten, and the more I have looked into it the more I realized how much we would really enjoy it. Things that make the VIP Tour worth it for us: 1.) I HATE to wait in lines. Like HATE HATE HATE .... H.A.T.E. Waiting in lines. I can not express how much I hate waiting in lines, which is the biggest plus for me on a VIP Tour is that I don't wait in lines for anything. 2.) It's nice always having someone with you who can make sure you get the most out of your visit. If you want to see a show, you get VIP Seating... You don't have to wait to get in. . . If you want a specific restaurant they make reservations so you don't have to wait in line there either. Typically your VIP Tour Guide is very knowledgeable of the park. Yes pretty much all of us on here are know a lot about coasters, and thrill rides, and even parks... But I was surprised that there were things our VIP Tour Guide knew about the park that we didn't know. Simple things like trivia facts, or short cuts to take... nothing major but just little things. 3.) The unlimited food and drink packages that come with VIP Tours are actually really nice. It's nice to just walk up to a window and get something to drink if you are thirsty... Or if you are hungry you just get to walked up and get something to eat. It is nice, and it is really convenient. 4.) Not waiting in lines! Seriously, I know I have said it a million times but it is true. When you go from having to wait a few hours for a ride to not having to wait for anything it is really nice. That itself makes the VIP Tour worth it. If you are considering a VIP Tour to Dollywood I highly suggest it. We are going to Dollywood for the first time next year, and we are already picking dates for our VIP Tour. A VIP Tour at Dollywood is going to include: It's going to cost you $199 per person (NOT including park admission) with a minimum of 2 participants; maximum of 8 participants. Source. Not only does Dollywood offer a VIP Tour, they also offer a "WILD EAGLE LIFT TOUR." Which will cost $59 but sounds amazing. To me it is worth the $59! Source. Having never been to Dollywood we are booking both the VIP Tour, and the Wild Eagle Lift Tour. They both sound amazing, and I know it is going to make the vacation amazing. We love to go to theme parks, and we love to do neat little add on things that each park offers. We have talked about it, and we enjoyed the VIP Tour enough that we will NEVER go back to another park without booking a VIP Tour. To us it is worth it. To others it may not be worth it. But to us it is. Typically you can find on a parks official website if the park offers VIP Tours. You can find out what they include, what they cost, and more details about what is specific to each park's VIP Tour. If you are considering a VIP Tour at a park I would tell you that the best day to do one is on a Saturday. That is when you will feel like you are getting the best value for your money. We all know how busy parks get on weekends, and it really makes the VIP Tour worth it. -- Sorry to go into so much detail about the Dollywood VIP Tour, but since two of you were considering it I thought I would put as much information about it here as possible to hopefully help you decide if a VIP Tour is for you!
16. *Prepares to be blasted* I'm going to add Banshee to my list. Now don't get me wrong, Banshee is a very strong, very good coaster... But when we went on it we got off the ride a little underwhelmed. The coaster was so hyped up that I was expecting it to be the best thing since color tv... and it wasn't. Like I said, it was by no means a "bad" Coaster. It just has had so many people raving about it that I think I had set my expectations way to high. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the vest restraints. The way they cut into my collar bone wad actually really uncomfortable. With that being said, I had ridden Racer before riding Banshee which had given me a migraine from hell... So I couldn't fully enjoy Banshee for what it is. My headache was so bad every little vibration from Banshee was unbearable. . . We will be riding it again next summer without a headache from Racer. . . So hopefully that will change my opinion.
17. If that's right. . . It would be December 22nd 2015... I mean... it could be worse.
18. Oh. My. That track looks absolutely beautiful. The colors look much better than I thought they would. Love the way that Sea World is even hyping up the transportation of the track! Can't wait to ride this new beauty.
19. That's part of the EVAC, platform for Windseeker.
20. How I feel about EVERY post in this thread so far.
21. No, but I'm incredibly sick about hearing people thinking they are going to change the name. It's just so dumb... So. True.
22. I mean.... Banshee doesn't really translate to "Loving caring locker."
23. That was trademarked by Cedar Fair... Not Cedar Point. Cedar Point trademarks their own rides, not Cedar Fair. Also, wasn't this name trademarked back before Fury was built??
