Last Trip Report Of The Season. . . Well, last weekend we headed out to SDC for our last trip of the season. The last trip of the season is always the most depressing. All the trees are dead, it's cold, and there seems to be no sign of life in nature. This year's last trip of the season we extra depressing because of the miniature ice storm that rolled through the night before, causing extremely low temperatures, and high(ish) winds. While we were at the park the high was 14 degrees, so needless to say none of the rides opened, however I believe they did get Fire In The Hole, and Flooded Mine open after we left for the day. Regardless, we got a lot of Christmas shopping done, and got some fun photos of the park. The weather kept most people away, so as you will see the park was dead. . . Like, dead, dead. Anyway, enjoy the photos from our last visit of the season!! There will be more trip reports once spring rolls back around! Merry Christmas everyone! Well, we made it! Time for the last visit of the season. Such a nice snow covered roof?? Can you find the roller coaster in this photo? Praise da lort! Such a strange flat sided Christmas tree. So. Many. Lights. Have you found the roller coaster yet? Track for the all new B&M wooden, launched, flying coaster. Coming in 2017. You heard it first. Right here. Wildfire isn't feeling so wild today. No one is getting wet today. Nope, no one going down. The park is so empty, (You will notice this will be a theme in this trip report.) At SDC even the restaurant entrances are well themed. This photo really just feels like Christmas. See?? No one else in the park! Powderkeg is not doing any blasting today. Yeah, still no one in the park. THE ALL NEW: "Tom & Hucks Ice Blast!" I see you Giant Barn Not Swinging. The well has runneth dry. Lost River lost it's river. This is as close as we would be getting to Outlaw Run during our visit. Don't worry, I'll ride you next season!! Such a mean piece of wood you are. No falling on Firefall. *sighs* Maybe some day this will get reused. #Snow #MoreSnow The waterless marble. Still no one. . . Hello?? Is anyone home? *GASP* All new, never before seen snow covered footers, only at SDC, and only on TPR! No construction site tours will be given today. No firemen needed today. Time to buy some crack, and head home. Goodbye for the season! Thanks for such a great season SDC, we will be back next year!

I feel like if it were something that simple, Dollywoods very intelligent, and highly qualified maintance team would have figured that out, and fixed it by now.

Being the sole survivor of two air plane crashes. (It's happened before) I think I'd just give up on flying at that point. What's worse than the whole New Mean Streak coming in 2017/2018 debate??

Maybe IKEA should be looking into this. Oh god. I can't even imagine trying to build an adult version of that plastic coaster, with IKEA instructions. No thanks. . . I'll pass!!

They're teasing us about the new RMC coming to the park. . . I'd sure hope it's working. If a park fails at teasing a new attraction, they need help.

^ Wish I could say the same for Titan at SFOT. There have been numerous times I've had "rough"(er) rides on Titan.

(Not trying to derail this thread) But. . . Wait... What?? Okay, maybe I am in the minority here. . . But no, Fury 325 is a Giga coaster. Regardless if B&M wants to classify it as one or not.

*Over a decade ago. . . Dear God I feel old. I remember watching TTD being built, and I remember my fist ride like it was yesterday. It's hard to believe it's been over a decade. Obviously this just means New Mean Streak will be opening in 2018, not 2017. . . So we can all just stop debating it now.

Loving this thread, and loving the pretty detailed reviews of each coaster. I'm also glad to see that so freaking Outlaw Run is still your number one!

This off season they just need to go ahead and replace the launch with a high speed cable lift IE: MF, Skyrush, i305...

Know one knows what SDC is actually getting as their next coaster, except for those in charge of new attractions, and probably marketing. It's been rumored that the new addition at SDC was going to be: A B&M Dive Coaster -then it was going to be- A B&M Flyer -then it was going to be- A B&M Invert -then it was going to be- A B&M Hyper -then it was going to be- Back to a B&M Dive Coaster -then it was going to be- A RMC T-Rex Coaster -then it was going to be- A B&M Hyper. . .again. -then it was going to be- A Intamin mega-lite. -then it was going to be- A launched, reversing, MACK spinning coaster (and that's where we are currently at on rumors.) So, no one knows what's actually going into SDC except those on the planning team, and obviously the aren't talking!! I've just given up on guessing, and the "rumors" now I'm waiting for the announcement.

Ohhhh, I love that idea. Then we could have the ejector first drop, yet still have the barrel roll drop as well!! Oh Cedar Point, please do this!!!
