The black posts near the left of the picture are for the new 3 point challenge. Scrambler isn't going behind the fence, but in the current 3 point spot. I'm guessing that by the time construction is finished, and NYS inspects it, we could see an early August opening (although the park wants it done by the end of the month). It should be a popular ride for all age groups.

It still doesn't make sense for them to keep doing this. Viper now has had both trains rehabbed and has not run them. RoS has had the red train rehabbed about three years ago and the blue was rehabbed last year. Predators trains came from Holiday World only 4 years ago and were taken care of well. Motocoaster and Mind Eraser only run one train due to the need of parts for others. Keep in mind it's been 3-4 years already "waiting for parts". Most of the trains have all seen some sort of refurbishment since Six Flags left. Unless the maintenance guys beat the trains like they're piƱatas every year, they should be good to go. I know a lot of the maintenance guys there, and they know what they're doing, so I'm sure there is more to it then just Six Flags and Co not caring.

I know by fact that at least Viper and RoS's are not because last season they ran the opposite trains. (Red for RoS and Orange for Viper). Those two rides have had the longest lines in the park, and are the reason why the exit passes were introduced. Everyone always puts Six Flags down, but they did introduce new rides every year, and they always ran two trains during summer months.

The coaster petitions were cute at first, but now they're just a waste. The park doesn't have too much room to expand, and fans complain if they have to wait even one season for MM to roll out a new coaster. I'm just as sad as everyone else about Colossus, but it will be pretty awesome to see what's coming next.

Because they refuse to run two trains on coasters and every last ride has a long line. Then there's the fact that they keep removing rides and replacing half of them. My anger reached a peak today when I went for an exit pass, and the kid took a half an hour for "confirmation" from the ride ops at Viper that the line was long. I just stormed out without the ticket. Happiness was not guaranteed. (Just a side note, if a park runs one train on all coasters on a busy day, the line will obviously be long. It's like running a restaurant with one chef and wondering if it will take long to serve everyone)

After visiting the park today, I can confirm that Scrambler will go in 3 point challenge's spot, but is not replacing it. Fencing has gone up right next to the current three point spot, but so has framework very similar to the current game. A tree right behind the game has also been marked for removal. It makes sense seeing that the spot that the game is in is much larger. I must say that the Scrambler is going in a very beautiful and shady area.

Solution for Line Jumpers

Electric barbed wire fencing. Works every time. -
Sorry for double posting, but it seems like the park is putting the Scrambler back in. A person posted on the Facebook page that this is true, and they claim to be an employee. I can confirm that in May I saw the ride's base near the maintenance building, but I didn't think it would return just yet. The only open spot that I can think of is UFO's pad. I hope to visit Saturday to confirm or reject this rumor.

Announcing "Skyline Attractions"

Back to Darien Lake, Herschend wants to do a lot with the park but CNL doesn't want to shell out the big bucks because of dwindling attendance. Management from Herschend hasn't been stellar either and maintenance and custodial departments are atrocious. Front of the Line passes replaced second trains this year, and that leads to many guests rushing to guest relations after waiting 90 mins for an Arrow looper. I don't see why Herschend wouldn't return to RMC after Outlaw Run's success. -
Best B&M Coaster Type?
coasterkid124 replied to I305's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like Hypers the most besides the lack of ejector airtime. Older Inverts and Banshee would be a close second. If there's one type that I wish to see more of that's dive machines. -
For me as one of the most active visitors to the park every year (and yes I can back up that fact), something needs to be done and quick. If the park doesn't build something they won't get visitors. If people don't visit the park will not build big. The idea keeps contradicting itself and nothing gets done besides tearing down of rides and new shows. No park has been able to build itself up without taking risks. Cedar Point never had 16 coasters when they opened. They took the risk and were awarded with markets from all different areas. As for Darien, they do have the potential and big enough of a market, they just need to do something. Most parks of similar size haven't had such big of coaster droughts. The only other one I can think of is Cali's Great America until it built Gold Rusher. It seems like this thread always comes down to me harping on the same idea but it's true. High risk but high reward is the way to go.
