  1. ^ There are several of them out there now. TPR just rode one at Energylandia today! Also, since this is classified as a water coaster, Assuming it would be the tallest of its kinds since it's the fastest, HW could claim that they have the Tallest, Fastest, and Longest Water Coasters in the world in one park.
  2. A few things I'm sure of. It's gonna be the fastest of it's type. In the initial teaser on all their social media's, they worded it "be the fastest to know". You don't typically word stuff like that. The second thing is that it's a coaster of some type. Weather it's a dry coaster or a water coaster. Why would they want coaster enthusiasts in the audience for the announcement for some slide, or flat ride addition. Lastly, it's not a family coaster. It wouldn't be the fastest of its type if it was. Honestly, the more I think of it, the more an Intamin Water Coaster makes sense. They're similar in style to the former Shoot the Chutes ride HW had. In fact, they can reuse the the foundation from the former tower of Pilgrims Plunge and also reuse almost everything like the water pumps, boats, ext, other than redesigning the splash down area as I'm assuming this will also have a roller coaster part like ones in Europe do. Intamin is probably also giving them a discount too due to the failure of Pilgrims Plunge. Also, why would they leave the boats, the station, the splash down and all the foundation work for almost 6 years now if they didn't plan on reusing it at some point? They certainly have the money to remove it all if they so wish, and honestly by all accounts should of at this point if they didn't plan to reuse it as it's kinda an eye sore.
  3. https://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2019/06/13/the-bucket-list/ This is where they announced Monsoon Lagoon was leaving.
  4. This is just me probably thinking way too much about this, but to me, its definitely going in the water park. It's not a speed body slide, as it says hold on. If it's a body slide, there's nothing to hold onto. To me, perhaps the next progression for ProSlide is to take that LIM Technology they use on the water coasters and perhaps create a somewhat forceful flat launch and create the world's fastest water slide.
  5. Definitely in the waterpark with that teased theme. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they're rolling out some new prototype from ProSlide. Its definitely gonna be a decent sized addition or they wouldn't be teasing and announcing something this early if it wasn't.
  6. Voyage tends to have more down time out of all 3 woodies there, but that's mostly because it's got 6000+ feet of track. It's still open way more than it's down. If Voyage doesn't open with the park, it's typically track work that needs to be fixed before they'll open the ride. If it closes during the day, it usually tends to be brakes, sensors or wildlife issues.
  7. To me, the only thing that would keep Valravn down for any extended period of time would be if the loading platform was damaged and they had to replace it. I can't imagine they just have replacements laying around for that and I also imagine that's something they can order and have it done quickly.
  8. ^ 1.) The park shouldn't be too terribly busy, however they're entering the peak of the season as far as crowds are concerned. 2.) I honestly think it's sacrilegious to go to HW and not go to the waterpark. You should at least go and ride Wildebeest and Mammoth. They're not only the 2 best water rides on the planet, they're two of the best rides anywhere. 3.) Liberty Launch has got some good pops of air and don't miss Gobbler's Getaway!
  9. ^ The catwalk on lift has the track shifted off the center of the steel ledger to the right. The slight shift in the drop is to center the track back on ledgers.
  10. I think one thing to keep in mind when comparing this to Fury is that B&M really looks at the aesthetic of the ride. Fury is at the front of the park and goes over multiple walkways where the guest can see the train. Therefore that ride didn't need tall elements for the guests to look at. This Kings Island ride seems to be towards the back of the park off in a wooded area. Therefore they're using taller elements that pop in out of the tree lines to make the ride more visually appealing. Since the ride is using taller elements, they're keeping the ride length shorter so it maintains its speed. I think when you get this tall with a ride, there's gonna be a number of guests who won't ride and would rather just watch than ride.
  11. So the park removed the half pipe slide from Hyena Falls, which now makes an attraction that was out of place seem even more out of place. Seems to me that it might make it easier to move those 3 slides to a part of the waterpark that makes more sense in the future ? That was the only slide on that complex designed to somewhat go with the terrain. Not saying that's why the park did it as they clearly stated why they did it. However, I do wonder if being able to move the complex influenced their decision on weather to remove it or makes the changes necessary to operate the slide.
  12. This is really looking like it could be one of the better RMC conversions!
  13. These RMC's with the pre-drops waist no time getting up the lift hills. It looks really good!
  14. Thanks! Glad I budgeted for the trailblazer pass. I was fearful that it might be busy going on Saturday. That was the only day I could make work though with my friends schedule.
  15. So I'm going to SDC for the first time on Saturday April 6th. Does anyone have any idea what the crowds have historically been like in early April? Would the Trailblazer pass be worth it? Also, is there anything I shouldn't miss besides the Marvel Cave tour and Cinnamon Bread? Thanks in advance!
  16. According to some people, a B&M would go quite well in a land of butterflies.

  19. ^ Might as well throw Kentucky Kingdom into that mix too since you'll pass through Louisville on your way to Kings Island from Holiday World. If you forgo the waterpark at HW, you could do KK and HW on the same day.
  20. Definitely: Holiday World Dollywood ( If I don't visit before the end of the year.) Carowinds Possibly: Kings Island Kentucky Kingdom Maybe: Busch Gardens Willamsburg Kings Dominion Now that I've got a nice new job, I can actually afford to start taking longer trips. I would be going to more parks but I'm also going to Vegas for my friends bachelor party and then Hawaii for his wedding. I might actually be doing Dollywood this Decemeber and if I do, I might ask my mom if she wants to go visit my aunt in Virginia in the spring 2019 and hit up BGW, KD and Carowinds on that trip. If I do that, then Kings Island and Kentucky Kingdom will be pushed back to 2020 and that's alright since Kings Island seems to be getting something big in 2020 anyways!
  21. They were still running the coasters at 7 p.m when it dropped below 50. The wind gusts is what shut them down and it was absolutely ridiculous Saturday night, so the park was justified in shutting the rides down. Thanks! Yeah its very much a family friendly event, which seems to really work for them. The only Halloween related thing after 6 was their Halloween themed music show. You can get night rides from 7-8 p.m. on Saturday's. I imagine they have a hard time staffing this event. It was the same ride-ops on every coaster all day on Saturday.
  22. I took a visit to Holiday World on Saturday for Happy Halloween Weekends. I've planned to visit the park during this event for the last few years, but I've never been able to make my schedule work to actually make it happen until this year. The park looked really good in it's fall colors and it should look even better next weekend as the leafs continue to change colors. I just wish my pictures better captured how well the park looked/ I took more pictures to show how well the park looked. If you aren't familiar with Happy Halloween Weekends, it's much different than your typical Halloween event at a theme park. It's very much a family-friendly event. A lot of what they offer is essentially what you would find at a pumpkin patch. They have one large corn maze and then a smaller one for children. They also offer hayrides and a corn bin for the little ones to play in. I participated in the corn maze's, but the park was actually decently busy today, so there was a very long line for the hayride. I was actually amazed at how much the Activity Trail (the section of the park this is all located in) took a lot of the capacity out the park. Now they also offer different types of family friendly fun houses and "startle" mazes. I didn't go through them because the ones we actually came across were all pulling stupidly long lines and when all the roller coaster are 1-3 train waits, we chose the coasters. As I mentioned above, the lines for the coasters were actually really short almost all day. The longest lines were 20 mins for Raven at open and 25 mins for Thunderbird when all the Halloween event stuff started closing around 5. In general, the park emptied out right at six, but more on that later. We got 5 rides on Raven and Legend. and 6 on Voyage and Thunderbird. All the woodies were running about the same that they did in August. In general, all the coaster were running a bit sluggish due to the cooler temps and high winds. The park emptied out after 6 as the Halloween event stuff closed and it started to get really windy and cold. They were still running two trains on everything and we were hoping to get multiple night rides on all the coasters. Well unfortunately, the wind had a different thought. As we were walking to Raven a little after 7, the park was hit with what felt like 50+mph wind gust that temporarily shutdown the coasters. Raven was down, but they were still sending trains on Legend, but as soon as we got in the station, the phone rang and it went down too. The ride op told us that maintenance was inspecting the tracks for broken limbs and they would be back open soon. We decided to camp out at Voyage in hopes of getting at least one night ride on it. Well they were still sending trains when we got down there and had we went straight from Raven to Voyage, we would have gotten on it. However, once we got in the station, the phone rang and Voyage went down. This time the ride op told us the chances any of the coasters re-opening would be slim to none, as the sustained winds were getting too high to run the rides. Shortly after that, the park posted on Twitter that all of their tall attractions AKA the coasters were closed for the rest of evening. While the ending of the day was a bit disappointing, you can't control weather. It was still a wonderful visit to the park and a great day overall! There's a coaster in there some where.. There it is! It took us about 15-20 mins to find our way out. Thanks for reading!
