  1. here are a couple more. Drop of Doom and Scream. Drop of Doom had a couple weird bumps going up. I guess that's why it shows 3 airtime moments. Or it could have been something at the end of the drop by looking at the graph. Hope to get some Knott's rides next week. Drop of Doom Drop of Doom Scream Scream Scream Scream
  2. i did a few rides today at SFMM. i used my apple watch. but the app crashes every time i try to open the saved ride. but, here are some screen shots from twisted colossus. the app seems to really work great. check out all the ejector!
  3. that sucks. i was thinking the same thing. i'm sure they are doing some kind of work. i don't think knott's closes rides just because.
  4. someone had to have done this. lol
  5. the loose article bins are pretty neat from what i've seen. the bins move from the loading side to the un loading side while you ride. looks like laundry mat type track with a couple cabinets instead of clothes.
  6. yeah, the stairs are still there. you mean walk underneath the track to the back of the station and up the stairs? that hasn't changed.
  7. i'm indifferent to them but i do like the drone shots of Tatsu.
  8. I would question if Goliath is a people eater. It has the potential to be, but with seat belts, several seats going empty every dispatch, and frequent two-minute dispatches, I would say it is quite average at best. Every B&M in the park (when running at least two trains) and Twisted Colossus definitely have faster moving lines. But their queues are nowhere near as enjoyable as Goliath's, so pick your poison. scream and batman are fast too. like i said goliath is a pretty good people eater. has been since new. pre and post seat belts. only time is sucked was when they were swapping wheels every few circuits when it was brand new since the wheel compounds would fall apart.
  9. yeah, if goliath has a big line, you're there on a packed day. it's a fairly good people eater.
  10. so i guess it was National Boysenberry Day yesterday. i just went to ride a few things and watch kyle and jeromy eat stuff.
  11. the big camelback has some good floater airtime. but that's really it on Goliath. the drop just feels like a long ramp these days. i remember it feeling better, but that's probably just the times. i also could swear it didn't slow down at the top of the lift. the second half is still pretty intense. it was way more intense when it opened and the mid course brake did nothing. now it either nearly stops, or does stop the train. it's still a fun ride. but being that i live in LA, i'd rather have any hyper coaster over goliath.
  12. since i only rode it once, and never gave it any attention after, i only read about the change. i always assumed it was the fins on the side, which were clearly fiberglass when it opened. then later, there's like another piece behind them. original modified
  13. guess there was an accident on El Loco. "Circus Circus' Adventuredome closes El Loco Roller Coaster after person falls from it" https://www.lasvegasnow.com/news/local-news/circus-circus-adventuredome-closes-el-loco-roller-coaster-after-person-falls-from-it/1879491777
  14. 2 has been discussed quite a bit. SFMM restricted the rocking/flipping which had the unintended consequence of inflicting uncomfortable forces on riders. Meanwhile the ones in Europe rotate more freely. i rode it before they put those huge weights on. unbalanced and was continually thrown into and back into the seat. head and body trauma. i'm guessing my friend and i got the worst ride you could get. the possibility of getting a ride half as bad as what i did kept me from every riding again. i still say that while i'm sure many enjoy it, the fact that there are only 4 total in the world says a lot about how parks felt about it if they thought about buying one.
  15. i think that there are what 4, in all the world says something. i'd guess the other ride the same. some good rides, some bad rides.
  16. the biggest difference is the seating position. the S&S free spins rotate near your waist. this one has 4 people back to back and the rotation point is behind you. so when it rotates, it throws you into the restraints. the free spins rotate similar to X2. alan shilke talked about the difference in an interview once and it made me understand what happened to my brain and body the one time i gave it a ride. LOL intamin did show a video of the zac spin 2 which had seating and rotation the same way the S&S free spins do.
  17. i'd be okay with that. along with a shaded bench next to it.
  18. i was told the same thing one day i was there and hoping to use it. probably only when they have a grouper on busy days.
  19. nice to finally see some concrete trucks there.
  20. i'm still hoping for a shaded park bench and bringing back the lemonade icee stand.
  21. looks like same guy attacking me!

  23. why? it's not a secret a new coaster is being built. This is California, people slow down to stare if someone is getting a speeding ticket. Imagine the amount of people who slow down to stare at a roller coaster being driven down the freeway. to 99.99999999% of the people on the freeway, that looks like some pipes on a truck.
  24. why? it's not a secret a new coaster is being built.
  25. if it's anything like Knott's, it should be a hit. Knott's BBQ place is very good. as far as amusement park BBQ goes.
