  1. doesn't the waiver say parking? i know mine does. but, in years past you got an extra paper that was you parking ticket. this year, it seems it's all printed on one sheet. at least mine is. i assume they'd let me in with it showing gold upgrade with parking. or, i'll just use my current pass. lol
  2. call me dumb, but what part are you talking about? The hill following the first drop. yeah, i'm thinking after watching again it's going to have a decent pop there.
  3. oh yeah, that's small. i think i need to re adjust my definition of airtime when i read stuff. lol kinda like the ntag video where the guy says 40 something moments and i'm more with robb when he counts like 11 or so.
  4. i don't even call what's off the lift hill a drop on apocalypse. similar to outlaw run, pre drop? raging bull? great ejector drops. maybe that little hill off the first drop is what he's talking about. that's hard to tell. it would be nice if it gives some pop, but i'm not anticipating it to be anything significant.
  5. call me dumb, but what part are you talking about?
  6. I will probably have a Knott's ticket for sale if anyone needs one. season pass one. if it's too late to sell. no problem, i'll eat it. pm me if you want it.
  7. oh really? it wasn't like that the last time i got one. but it's been a while. but the good thing is, at least it's annual, and not seasonal like they try to get you with the, buy a day, get the rest of 2014 free. also, universal is open every day, which is cool. those off season days, same with Knott's are ridiculously dead. i remember when magic mountain stayed open daily through september. there would be more people at WalMart than Magic Mountain.
  8. it was even cheaper at most parks. i think as low as $50. but, MM has always had cheap passes. they have always hovered around that price or cheaper. them and universal are the cheapest passes. $80 annual at Costco for Universal.
  9. I truly hope the general public doesn't screw this up. It has been a long long time since I've worried about spit flying in my face at Magic Mountain. I used to think of it constantly in the 90's. i do hope not for anything to hit me in the Top Gun stall. tho i do expect many to communicate, you know, "keeping up foreign relations."
  10. they are about equal to me. love both of them.
  11. with that avatar you're saying you don't like the colors? lol
  12. my neck got destroyed my first ever ride on maverick. lol. i really had no idea what i was riding, the layout, nothing. after the first one, i learned how to ride it and now totally enjoy it. i still hit my neck/head coming out of the launch tho. if i was tighter in the restraint, aka taller and bigger, i'm sure i wouldn't ever hit my head or even be able to. but there not that big of a deal, at all.
  13. i thought it was decent. but only rode it once in the last two years because i was focused on other stuff. it was a walk on when i rode, too. but to be honest, i only rode it cause i wanted the on ride photo, then realized after it wasn't included in the all day photo pass. i did really like it when it was new before the trim brake though. my hope is they move it and bring a totally new coaster, even if we have to wait longer.
  14. because the hair didn't impress me? and from people i've talked to? yes, i'm judging by videos. but also read my comment, "i'd like" i like big ejector air. not that california screamin really has that so much. i like sfmm goliath, but hate the slow down at the top. i'd rather be flung over like, MF, SFGA Goliath/Raging Bull, etc. so anyway, i'll ride gold striker some day, then i'll know for sure if i think it's an hair time machine.
  15. i haven't ridden goldstriker but i'd almost think california screamin has more airtime i'd like.
  16. that could happen when you completely stop on those mid course brakes. which has been happening to me pretty frequently. but yeah, they'd still have to dispatch the train a bit before the other train hits the mid course brake. another sad capacity issue on YOLO is after the train waiting to get into the station is let go, by the time it gets into the station, the other one is just about back. someone really should have thought about that in the design. it's what makes 2 train operation barely better than one.
  17. that part does look pretty good. i'm also looking at the second half right after the high 5. that double down looks like it will have some good pop. going back to the goldrusher-superman hill...i used to take the metro to the tunnel, then walk up half the stairs. but when they added superman, they ditched the stairs. i at least thought the stairs were an easier climb than the hill going around.
  18. i really liked log jammer. at least the scenery and it's course. it was a nice looking area. i miss the metro too. lol
  19. That's too bad you feel that way, I don't feel 'let down' at all, I'm really looking forward to this. It's funny you say it looks amazing then turn right around and totally bash it. And gimmicky, really? ALL coasters are gimmicky in one form or another. This will be a first of it's kind for RMC and FIRST in the US with a high five element and it only has a few inversions and plenty of airtime moments, something original Colossus was lacking, is that so terrible? Sure it could have been longer but you know what.... whatever, it's way better than what is there now. And one more thing, the park is not building this ride for YOU, it's building this ride to generate more traffic in the park so it can make more money. Apparently you don't understand that concept and how ALL themeparks operate- they exist for one thing only, TO MAKE MONEY, NOT just to please you. And I guess you don't understand what RMC coasters are, how amazing they are, which btw is what this will be, and that's just a shame. Hmm, I'm sensing trolling. i agree, definitely trolling. but, i'm so happy there isn't a twisted drop. the only real thing i wanted was a huge first drop. but i'll take two smaller ones. i got the zero g stall, awesome airtime it looks like, awesome pacing, except for the lift, and a long ride. oh, and it's near me. the gimmick? make sure it still has some of the original Colossus elements and feel to it. great ode to the past, imo.
  20. I don't think they're discontinued, from what I've been told they just get a certain amount at the beginning of the season and that's it until next season, so you'd have to wait until next season to get one now. oh, that's cool. i like the usb stick. just wish Magic Mountain still had the onride photo on the coasters they took it off of.
  21. I'm guessing that six flags has gotten rid of the season pass usb sticks? i know half way through the season a worker told me they don't have them any more. that they sold out. i never again, at least at magic mountain, saw them advertised. for those that don't know, you could buy a usb stick from them, i think 29.99, then every picture taken is only a $1.00. it was an awesome deal. now i see the season pass digital upload pass. but now the pics are $1.99. still a good deal though.
  22. oh, i think it's because the drops begin to swerve slightly to the right.
  23. anyone else notice that the 2nd lift hill drop looks slightly lower? or the angle is a little different?
  24. oic, yeah, i go enough i'm sure they don't need to send me that. oh let's see, this guy has been a pass holder for 20 something years, no discount for him. LOL that and i keep telling them how dirty the park is when they send me the survey after almost every visit.
