WOW. I'm glad I didn't go last night! The codes Might SEEM overkill, but really... We're talking about SO CAL here. Mostly, the GP aren't that bright, plus should an earthquake happen, a BIG one... mass pandemonium may ensue. I read the document. All I can say is... Really, Disney? Just.... wow. Having'06 as the last time a fire extinguisher was checked on SM... Plus having a fire extinguisher without showing that it was even checked... *facepalm*

What ruins your ride flow?

High-Altitude or Sharply Downgraded Final Brake Runs. It makes me think... "All that wasted speed could have been used on more fun stuff." Like Leviathan. -
Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
Rocket Rodder replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's one for you. I was at Disneyland (DLR) and was in line for "Special Space Mountain". there was Regular Space and "Special Space". You had to pay for it and there was a 50 minute wait time, with less than 30 people in line. WTF...? Also, all of Tomorrowland was enclosed, like some crazy complex. Anyway, It was finally our group's turn to ride "Special Space Mountain". To ride they had to stop Regular space Mountain's operations to put the "special" cars in! ONE AT A TIME. The queue was unlike anything I'd ever seen. It was outdoor with blue rock everywhere... Then we went into this Theater room. Finally... 12 of us lined up and I ended up in some elevator... Then people looked at me like I was supposed to enter this room along with three other people. So I did. Turns out that "room" WAS the Special car. the reason "Special" Space Mountain's wait was so long was they had to stop Regular Space Mountain every hour or so and add the ONE car, run it, then add the other cars back and run the ride like normal. So, we're in this starspeeder-like car, screen and all. The seats have little guns with them and we had to shoot at Targets after we started moving AT THE THIRD LIFT HILL. (WTF????) As the car crested some classical hero theme played as we had to shoot Zurg, Gannon (.... I know. I know.) , the Galaxy Ghost and nearly every other canon villain you can think of. It was fun though! Feeling all the curves and sudden drops of "SSM". But the seats had no restraints AT ALL, and somehow we didn't bash against the walls or roof. After the ride ended like we knew it did, we kept feeling forces that weren't like Space Mountain. Suddenly we found ourselves sweeping out and over the mountain, back to Tomorrowland, our seats came out of the vehicle and we were hovering over the crowd. Suddenly Tomorrowland and all of the park were just blue rocks. We had to shoot the GUESTS. Not with bullets or lasers; Disney was safe. We shot them with icy cold water. Yup. After the ride was finally over and the seats just.. disintegrated into nothing, I woke up. (Well, the dream was an inception so I actually kept dreaming. But.... that's another thread.) There you have it. -
That's awesome! But something I noticed about it... that "cog" might most likely actually be a drive tire, look at its shape. Plus, the curved but isn't banked AT ALL... Track before all three lifts are, if I recall. Vertical drive tires on a Disney Coaster.. neat! That color definitely matches Big Thunder's!

I'm sorry if this was asked a million times before, but is this ride going to be enclosed? Looks amazing! -

Amusement Ride Breakdown!
Rocket Rodder replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One time we were on Pirates at DL (California) and we were stuck before the bottom of the lift. Suddenly things got all quiet... the water pumps had shut off. It was a deafening silence. I thought for sue we'd be getting evac'd. But then the pumps turned on again. As we eventually climbed the lift, we stopped AGAIN, this time the boat rolled back a few inches to catch onto the anti-rollback. Seeing a boat full of 20 people all getting lurched at the same time was... quite hilarious, actually. I couldn't help but burst into laughter as some children started screaming and crying, AS WELL AS SOME ADULTS. We did get to moving again and got back to the station. I laughed again as these people complained at how "unsafe" the ride is and how some asshole was laughing at how "they almost died".... Yeeeah. Well, it WAS funny and if it happens again I'll laugh again. -
Best Theme Park Food
Rocket Rodder replied to ChrisZer0's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At KBF I love their famous fried chicken and biscuits. one favorite of mine, believe it or not is their chicken n dumplings at the chicken dinner restaurant (Or 'Chicken House' as we called it.) Also, their cherry rhubarb side dish is amazing. Pure amazing! At DL, something I always go back to is plaza inn. It's kind of like a cafeteria that you choose what you want right at the food source, but someone still served it up for you. My favorite thing to get there is their pasta: Half chicken alfredo and half meaty marinara, since both pastas are the same price. Their desserts there are pretty amazing too. I got the most decadent triple chocolate layer cake there. I've had potroast from there once too. It was to die for! now I'm hungry again... LOL At DCA, for quick food I love their hotlink on a stick from Corndog Castle. I also love their award weiners. I like their BBQ hotlink. I seem to gravitate toward pork products a lot there, I noticed... -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Rocket Rodder replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
An interesting story from KBF, back when I worked there: There was a woman and her friend commenting about how Boomerang was: After the train was released from spike 1 and did its thing: (Spanish convo) Woman 1: That's all? The ride is too short! woman 2: No, the ride goes backwards. Watch. woman 1: No. See, they're stopping. They're getting off now! (The train has just went through spike 2) At the release, woman 1: OMG it broke!!! (she then screamed and looked to me with TERROR in her eyes...) -
Wow... By the way, by "Boardwalk", do you mean Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk? No, it was the boardwalk at knott's. It's funny... I heard some little boy go "Look! She's crying! She's REALLY scared!" Yeah. ... Thaaat's what it was. Not me. I GUFFAW. I point. Some castmembers grin from ear to ear at this. Only a couple got annoyed at it, but hey. It was still funny. If anyone were to start beef, I'd be as frank as ever: "What part of the RIDE IS BROKEN... do you NOT get?" :3

I'll never forget this for as long as I live. It was a slow day at the Boardwalk, and I'm running riptide. Lots of guests are reriding 2 or 3 times. (WHY I have no idea, but whatever floats your boat!) This one girl asks seductively "Can I ride again...????" Of course I let her reride, and as the ride runs its course, the woman HAD AN ORGASM ON THE RIDE. She didn't scream, but her face was unmistakable. Worse still, she... went all the way. We thought she had peed on the ride. The fountains were off that day. It wasnt pee... D: We TRIPLE gloved it. SO nasty.

Lots of neat things happening at DL! I'm glad the fastpass enforcement is happening. That hot-air balloon looks totally awesome. And for the record, I'm (Probably one of the only) So Cal dude who is really OK with the changes... I just sit back and let them happen, why whine about it, ya know? Silly fanboys

Roller Coaster of the 'Future'

I like that reversed roller coaster thing... reverse a mine train, or a B&M Invert!
