If you look around you will see quite a bit. Repainting at the tolls booths and front gate, the remodeled membership buildings, some roads within the park property being repaved... Six Flags is definitely spending money to bring the parks up to par. Off-topic from the park, Live Nation is also working on improving the amphitheater. They posted recently that they are upgrading the screens.

With how off the rails this thread has gone I can't tell if you're joking or not. But it was actually originally built "themed" to Orange County Choppers, a show that was on Discovery channel. They gave away one chopper I think and had another on display when it first opened. Then the theming was removed a couple of a years after.

Probably not. You have to go to your "home park" that you purchased your membership or season pass and get the card before you can visit another park. They aren't able to process it at those other parks. What you might be able to do is buy it, then go to the admin building on 77 and get your cards so you can then visit another park.

Yes it is and it will definitely not be rebuilt, it was damaged while they were taking it apart in AstroWorld if anything SF will scrap that hunk of junk. Also IMO good news SF is back in control again, I can definitely see them bringing two trains back for most rides and the retheme of many such as ROS being rethemed back to Superman and the potential that Mind Eraser will get new trains and become the Riddler like they did with the one at SFNE. No. It's gone, it was removed this past October/November.

The coaster has been officially announced by the park as of today. Its name is "Tantrum" and it will top out at a height of 98 feet. The ride will have a top speed of 52 mph. "Tantrum riders will embark on a 98-foot vertical lift at a 90-degree angle – straight up the coaster’s first hill. In a matter of seconds, upon reaching its apex, the train plummets into a 97-degree drop and pretzel inversion. Reaching speeds of 52 mph, the coaster snakes through the structure over a bunny hop, keeps riders wondering which way is up or down during an Immelman turn and finishes with a tilted loop." I last saw Maroon 5 a few weeks ago. They put on a great show, but I didn't really care for the opening acts.

Great point about the ECF. This year it was close to the same price (and actually maybe even a little more) to go to the fair and get the wristband on top of the fair admission. Darien lake also had the online and Tops bogo going at that point, so if you took advantage of those offers it was actually significantly cheaper to go to DL over the ECF for rides. Perhaps not surprisingly, the ECF said attendance dropped off a bit this year. They blamed the very hot weather which may have had some impact, but I think some of it was probably due to the fair becoming too expensive for many families.

Minimum wage is set to increase in NYS again this year, so I'd bet that contributes towards the increased price. The season pass had also stayed the same price for several years before going up this year and like Bill said it is still a good deal. In regards to the discussion on attendance - it had been poor for a few years. When you would go to the park the parking lots would rarely be filled from around 2012-2014. I think that has really made a turn around over the last two years. I'm not sure how you came up with knowing it is at a million, though, coasterkid.

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
Golddisk replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
The temperature where I live was average for this time of year, but it was stormy and rainy for most of the day except for a few hours of sun towards the middle of the day. -
Recently I have been playing a lot of Rainbow Six: Siege on my Xbox One. Pretty cool game, although there are a few bugs here and there. I also just bought This War of Mine off Steam last weekend as it was on sale. I've made it to day 9 so far. Pretty cool game, but I would suggest picking it up when it is on sale and not paying full price for it.

The weather is the biggest factor, I think. If it is 50 degrees or higher out and calm without rain/snow, then the events are decently attended. If its cooler, rainy, or even snowing, then the park is dead and everyone goes to other places in the area with all indoor haunts like Frightworld and Haunted Catacombs so that they don't have to be exposed to the elements. I do think that if Darien had a large indoor area where they could fit 3-4 haunted houses like Frightworld/Haunted Catacombs, then the event would definitely be a lot bigger of a draw. The bus rides always seemed like a big hit but their capacity wasn't that great (lines for those used to be super long from what I remember) and I am sure there were a lot of additional associated costs with that. The buses were old, too, which I wonder if that played a factor at all in scrapping that event.

My favorites are custard or Bavarian cream filled donuts. After those, my next pick would be peanut donuts.
