  1. After adding more foliage I decided it was looking a bit drab and dull I've changed the colour and setting. Now there's supports in I think I've made the right decision it's much more imposing and bold. Am currently planning out the paths, queues and station for the ride area. There's a lot of terrain headaches to sort out! But watch this space.
  2. ^ First completed, I'd played around with the program for a few months before I got the layout right. There's hundreds of drafts on my computer and the one in uni haha. I really enjoy using it now though, I used to think you couldn't have the same freedom as hand building but I was really wrong.
  3. is it wrong that I don't even know what Agnesi and Bernstein is! Haha I've only been using any form of tools outside what's given in NL for 5 months, so Newton is still relatively new, as I've been using NL since I was about 14 (so 7 years ). I generally just press buttons and compare it to real videos and images, I guess it's a long process of trail and error but I'm getting to grips with what's what now. The Red Dragon was my first Newton coaster.
  4. ^ I used time warping for this zero-g there's so many ways to make them. Slightly reduced the tension and change the centre so it's completely level. I decided against the newer drawn out zero-gs I don't really like the way they look and ride. This one was actually harder to make. The newer zero-g rolls are basically a B&M Hyper hill with a 180* roll in it. The older ones have a straight bit before the 0g part. I really wanna post videos of how it rides! But I'd be ruining it for the release, it's my favourite part of the ride.
  5. Done-a-some supportin' Supports A Cheeky little on-ride view of the zero-g
  6. They're all so beautiful!
  7. But say you wanted a ride with a massive drop, but then didn't have the space to create a layout with the speed that the drop creates. It's not bad design to slow it down abit to allow a smaller footprint surely.
  8. Why do so many people make out trims to be so evil, as if the rollercoaster companies set out to ruin your riding experience! I've even seen it mention that the addition of trims is a sign of "bad design"! If anything it's a sign of good design, if they've left areas for brakes to be added they've aticipated how the ride may behave. You'll never know for certain how things will turn out in the real world. On a B&M Hyper, for example, they're not designed to slam you with air-time but give youlong extended periods of weightlessness, unlike like their Intamin couterparts. You have 0G for a verrryyy long time. So by adding a trim, you can extend that period of time where you're completely weightless... I think it's more fun to be completely weightless for a really long time, rather than "BANG AIRTIME" for a split second. Ok, so it is down to personal preference , but I think there is a positive side to trims! They can also increase comfort, and make a ride more re-ridable. Allow more people to ride (ie younger riders). The addition of trims to Intimidator 305 was probably one of the first times I've seen them praised. Whats your opinion on trims? And are there anymore positives about them? Got a favourite trim? Do they make you angry? I'm quite curious, as I see so much negativity. I always wanna defend the designers but I've been scared of being shot down!
  9. ^The entire section is in pitch black darkness anyway, just putting that censored thing over teh top doesn't really cover up anything as the video would be completely black anyway! It's just an effect. The video looks slow but I got loads of air on the hills the restraints are really roomy. EDIT: Uncensored one is online.
  10. Ok nothing visable has been done, I've just been tweaking the finale. But this is another angle of the ride from the other side of the cobra roll. Thought it was a nice view of the zero-g. Progress may be slow atm, as I have exams untill the begining of June, but it should be better after that.
  11. After The Red Dragon which focused on being smooth fast and floaty I wanted to make a coaster that had more punch! And what better than a B&M Invert. I experimented with loads of layouts and elements and I finally have a layout I really like, it has some wacky transitions, but it's all pure B&M intensity. It's still in early stages so watch this space. The theme is based on a deadly Indian viper. The name is hindi for "that lies hid", or "the lurker."
  12. Sorry for the wait, the POV is now online. Just a few notes though, The ride isn't finished in it, the download has more detail on the final turn. Also the off-ride of the train leaving the MCBR was taken after an E-stop so looks a little slow. And sorry for the broken-up video, the program I used only allowed for 30 second clips. Anyway I hope it gives a good impression of the ride. I forgot to record sound too, so I added Devil's Spoke by Laura Marling, the song (and album) I listened to most when designing this ride.
  13. I'd say Photo 2, the composition and riders reactions just all goes together. Photo 3 is abit too zoomed in, and photo 3 isn't as interesting.
  14. Ed! ^ I'm in!!!! Je suis ROLLLERRCOOAASSTER ROAD TRIP OUI OUI, J'DORE OROCHI
  15. I do like Harry Potter , but I was always wary of this themed area, but I must say I'm impressed with the level of detail going into it! I like the flags at the entrance to "Dragon Challenge", and look forward to seeing pictures from a soft opening!
  16. when I'm brainstorming, I get through around 20 drafts a day! But once you have a good idea of what you want may I suggest just spending abit more time on it. Download rides and read topics, you'll get better. But impatience isn't going to help.
  17. Yeah ^ just in the process of making it, will try and get it up by tomorrow.
  18. Background This ride is based on the tale of Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon), the national symbol for Wales. In the Mabinogion, The Red Dragon fights with an invading White Dragon. His pained shrieks cause women to miscarry, animals to perish and plants to become barren. Lludd, king of Britain, goes to his wise brother Llefelys in France. Llefelys tells him to dig a pit in the centre of Britain, fill it with mead, and cover it with cloth. Lludd does this, and the dragons drink the mead and fall asleep. Lludd imprisons them, still wrapped in their cloth, in Dinas Emrys in Snowdonia. The dragons remain at Dinas Emrys for centuries until King Vortigern tries to build a castle there. Every night the castle walls and foundations are demolished by unseen forces. Vortigern consults his advisers, who tell him to find a boy with no natural father, and sacrifice him. Vortigern finds such a boy, Merlin, who is supposed to be the wisest wizard to ever live. On hearing that he is to be put to death to solve the demolishing of the walls, the boy dismisses the knowledge of the advisors. The boy tells the king of the two dragons. Vortigern excavates the hill, freeing the dragons. They continue their fight and the red dragon finally defeats the white dragon. Ride Design The love child of Diamondback, Intimidator and Apollo's Chariot, with a sprinkle of Silver Star, this ride combines the best of the B&M hypers, minus any trimming. At a colossal 6321ft, this ride would dominate the industry, and be the longest B&M ever made. The idea of the theme came from looking at Patriot at World's Of Adventure. This is the welsh version of that! The landscape is based on beautiful lakes of Snowdonia, where the dragon was buried in the legend. Download Notes -You need Track Packager to open this ride. -This ride was created using Newton 2 -Please download the cartextures and put them in the cartextures folder before riding. -------------------------------------------------------------------- All scenery objects were created by CrazyCoaster and a massive massive thanks goes to him for helping me out with that and the final layout!! The front row may have the visuals, but check out the back for some mad airtime. Also a thanks to Loefet and Ed for last minute testing! ENJOY YOUR RIDE!! DOWNLOAD [Try find the dragon egg ]
  19. It's a site that combines the functions of CoasterSims and NLDC. Coaster Design Archive CrazyCoaster has been hard at work getting this site up and running and it's just starting it's beta testing. So sign up and give it a whirl, and say what you think. You can never have too many coaster sharing sites, and you'll be able to have a project page to update, and also follow other peoples work with a notification system whenever they update their page. So yeah give it a spin, will be a great help.
  20. I'll try my best to get a POV by then. But I'm struggling to find the best video capture software. and a decent editing one too.
  21. The queue is finished now, just details such as signs, details on the paths and foliage need to be done. And The ride will be released on SUNDAY, APRIL 11th A view from the track of the station and the queue entrance. The queue passes into the castle and out round the back into the orchid before returning into the castle up into one of the towers, where stairs lead up to the loading platform. Just a random picture I took, of the ride's three biggest hills, the MCBR and the second helix.
  22. ok, wow. um Tech: Just perfect, no pumps, bumps, bad shaping, everything seemed just right. Love the spine you did and all those supports. Judging from the real POV, seems you got everything right there. But I think maybe the final brakes into the station are abit off, the ride slows down a little earlier in real life and that final corner is abit less banked. But thats nit picking, overall I'm giving a 10. Accuracy: SPOT ON! Can't fault! I've not seen the ride in real life, or ridden it, but from all the pictures, animations and povs released yesterday, I cannot fault this what so ever. I rarely ever give out 10/10 but I think this recreation deserves it! 10/10 EDIT: Although... for some reason after I installed this ride, the wooden support textures have gone crazy, you may need to rename one of the files and repackage.
  23. Robb looked slightly hesitant to ride then! I would be after riding so many times I guess. But MAN this thing looks intense, glad to hear positivity. I hope this ride ages well though =/, Intamin's aren't the best for ageing.
