  1. Wait... Is Goliath going to run one train at opening only or forever?
  2. Hmm, perhaps the shredded paper is a blueprint or a sketch of a coaster?
  3. Is it possible that they are actually planning a GIB but is installing the kiddie boomerang first?
  4. I would have to disagree. I actually like GCI's alot. Gold Striker was totally INSANE and Fireball at Happy Valley Shanghai was filled with airtime. Fireball's been in the top 20 for 2 years now if I'm correct.
  5. Robb's right. Fireball has been kept in excellent shape with multiple retrackings since 2009. In fact it was just retracted in the winter of 2012 and partially retracted last winter as well.
  6. ^Lol, I hope not. I have friends who've been on it and they all say it so rough that it just isn't any fun.
  7. Now that is totally untrue! B&M builds two or three "thrill" rides a year. Their coasters in my opinion are still the best overall. Vekomas are terrible save their GIBs, Intamins are unreliable, but B&Ms are both smooth and reliable... Well, many people would disagree since B&M doesn't make a lot of intense coasters...but yeah, that's what I believe.
  8. Could this be another Spinning/ Dark Ride coaster with an inversion similar to the one at Tokyo Joypolis?
  9. That knock-off motocoaster looks like a free spinal adjustment...
  10. Actually, they are taking care of it. Fireball was retracked last fall if I remember correctly.
  11. ^ Now thats a credit I would gladly miss.
  12. Wow... Thats flooded... Aren't there supposed to be drains though?
  13. Your definition of "early" will change if you come to china for a while. Most parks open at 10, rides open at 11, and close at 6:00.
  14. I have a hunch that it might be Time Machine from Hard Rock Park... It's a full size B&M with a nice discount. I thought it was already established the coaster was sold to a park in China? I think if it was coming to China, I would know about it since I'm currently studying Chinese in China. Maybe Yin knows. Yin? Heard of Time Machine coming to China?
  15. I have a hunch that it might be Time Machine from Hard Rock Park... It's a full size B&M with a nice discount. I thought it was already established the coaster was sold to a park in China? Oh Really? I never heard anything about it.

  17. Yup! By the way, I also visited the Ancient Grand Canal and Old Town Suzhou and took a few photos with my phone. A culture update will be up soon.
  18. As far as I know, it hasn't been repainted.
  19. You gotta be kidding right? Zac-Spins are terrible painful rides if the cart is unbalanced. I think these are the only coasters I don't like other than the Togo Stand-ups...
  20. ^Wow! Can't believe there are parks that buy real SLCs in China other than Happy Valley! Yup, I meant Suzhou Amusement Land. Thanks for correcting me!
  21. Since my stint as a foreign student in Shanghai is coming to an end, my friends and I are trying to hit a few parks that we haven't visited yet. Last weekend, we went to Suzhou Giant Wheel Park and Suzhou amusement park. Unfortunately, my camera's battery died after taking quite a few photos in the Giant Wheel Park. What can I say about Giant Wheel Park? Well, It's a little dissapointing with only 6 rides inside and only one roller coaster. But, that coaster is the one and only Vekoma Stingray in existence currently and it really was a smooth and intense coaster. Vekoma really did a good job on this flying coaster. It was kind of compact and the tight turns and flips packed quite a punch unlike the B&M Flyers. Unfortunately, it opened at 11:00 right before we had to leave so I only managed to get one spin on it. Suzhou Giant Wheel Park's giant wheel provided some great views but nothing too special to see in my opinion. Now, I don't have any photos of Suzhou Amusement Park but it was a TERRIBLE park. It was jam packed and NONE of the four coasters were operating. The knock-off SLC was cycling the whole time but never opened. I should probably feel thankful for not riding the knock-off SLC but its still a credit missed. The flat rides had an average dispatch time of 10 minutes and we only got to go on three rides(Top Scan, Space Shot, and an upcharge zipline) before the park closed. Probably not coming back to get the missing credits after seeing the terrible ops. I mean seriously, lines at the flat rides were 45 minutes to an hour and NONE of the coasters were operating. Not even the kiddy coaster. Anyways, enjoy Suzhou Giant Wheel park with me. From the side entrance, you can kinda see the Vekoma Stingray? The namesake of the park. The chains on the swings were kinda rusty and looked a bit unsafe A view of the island in the middle of the lake from the ferris wheel. Don't know what its called. A plaza that leads to nothing... Another view into the distance... A giant monopoly board as seen from the wheel. However, up close, it was a dissapointment. There were no real slots like Park Place or Boardwalk. Only Blue 1 and Blue 2. A look towards the city another view from the ferris wheel There were quite a few mazes in the park though More mazes and the awesome Vekoma Stingray VEKOMA STINGRAY!!! More pics of the Vekoma Stingray. Unfortunately as I said earlier, they opened the ride late so I didn't manage to get a pic of a train in action. Nerd shot of the ferris wheels drive motor and I'll leave you with one final shot of the awesome Vekoma Stingray
  22. Is Mythos a little pricy compared to other theme park full service restaraunts?
  23. Wow! Nice to see a park in China with good ops. Seems a little like a Chinese Cedar Fair park almost.
  24. Is the left side of Colossus ever going to run again? I haven't seen it run since last spring.
