  1. My crazy idea...build the longest tallest, fastest coaster in the world in Delaware. Build it in a place that would not give you any issues with heights due to proximity to airports. Since DE only had two entries in RCDB, it would attract some local investors to give their state some tourism dollars, drawing in people from all over the country to ride this amazing coaster. It would have a lower speed section too, allowing for loops and corkscrews. That way it would hold onto more records.
  2. Was relocated to Six Flags over Delaware, home of all the abandoned rides from all the other parks. Sadly it closed due to someone getting their underwear...
  3. My theory as to why B&M have not built more sitting coasters, seems they specialize in different from everyone else. Not everyone can make a floorless coaster, a decent suspended looping coaster, wing coasters, etc. If they made a bunch of sitting coasters, then what would make them different from everyone else?
  4. In my very humble opinion, I would consider any system that shoots you up the hill to be a launch, where there is nothing on the hill to keep you going. A LIM/LSM lift hill would require in my opinion a continuous propulsion up said hill, versus the sling shot method of traditional launches. You're still being lifted up the hill versus being shot up the hill.
  5. The moral of the story is...always wear clean underwear.
  6. Happy late birthday Robb, may your buttocks grace many coaster seats in the years to come.
  7. Did you know that when they replaced the top of the Great American Scream Machine loops, they put one in the safari.

  9. Isn't sun drop basically Fresca with sugar?
  10. Clementon Park-22.5 mi (35 mins) Six Flags Great Adventure-22.5 mi (35 mins) Casino/Funtown Pier (currently being rebuilt)-44 mi away (1 hour 5 mins) These are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head.
  11. I have a theory as to why these death coasters are still built. 5 year plans in China, for every western coaster brought in, they may have to build a few in house coasters. They have economic planning that even dithers down to the level of theme park planning and airport building, the 2001-2005 plan even included expanding cable TV coverage. So I can see it saying "build western coasters at theme parks that westerners may frequent, build our own at theme parks that westerners are less likely to visit unless their name is Rob Alvey"
  12. Intamin water coaster. I watched the POV video of it, looked awesome.
  13. Even though I never got to ride it, the alteration of Ultra Twister from SFGAdv when it moved to SFAworld. Instead of a 90 degree or so lift hill, it was made into a more conservative lift hill of 45 degrees. Did any other TOGO Ultra Twister rides get this modification?
  14. What about a Cyclone clone at every park? Give everyone a chance to ride a replica of a classic. Small enough to where placing it would not be a problem.
  15. The boomerang near me has the Vekoma trains, and seems to be one of the better kept ones. http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=128&linkid=1265
  16. Nitro at SFGAdv. There is a lake next to the park called Prospertown Lake. You can see the ride from it coming from the east on the county highway the park is situated on.
  17. Any water ride that adds water cannons to the splash zone, extra soaking potential. One ride improvement I would love to see, log flumes where they can add extra weight if the passengers are light, or if asked. Helps front load a boat full of light people for that extra large splash.
  18. This is going off stuff that happened before I was born. Historically speaking when SFGAdv opened their rapids ride, people did not get properly wet, so they had to go and basically rebuild the entire ride to make sure people got truly soaked, sadly this also added a small problem with the wave machines being rendered less effective since they also put in planks to keep the boats going the right way. This all happened within 4 years of the ride opening in 1981. You still get extremely wet, but the ride has less rapids than it used to.
  19. Since there is a topic about ride "neuters", I felt that one on the best alterations was in order. For me it would have to be: Runaway Mine Train at SFGAdv, new lap bars that lock at different levels vs the one size squeezes all among other changes. Small changes that added up to make the ride a better experience for all. (Edit: Changed two words because I only had one example)
  20. From the look of your pictures the drop either stayed the same or became steeper. In no way does the drop look any tamer than the original way. To me, it looks like they made it so you get more water going down the chute, giving you a wetter ride.
  21. Don't believe me? Here: http://content.sixflags.com/comingin2014/greatadventure/zumanjaro-drop-of-doom/ Play and interact in their habitat, poo fights? "oh honey look at the baboons, wait what are they doing...oh god...it's everywhere...it's hit the fans!"
  22. That log flume is the one ride on the non waterpark side i really really like, extremely easy to get soaked on. The water park and Theme Park cost about 25 bucks per person (one ticket gets both) and parking is 10 bucks. Park has frequent promotions, sometimes you get a cheaper ticket by going in at a later time of day with a can of soda coupon, season pass is 50 bucks but does not take care of parking. If i ever got that season pass i would use it for the water park and the log flume, the two good parts of the park, that Steelwoodie is a neck breaker imho. S&S Power designed it, it was so bad that they had to add a trim break in the first drop, I personally miss their old woodie. http://www.coastergallery.com/2007/Clem13.html
  23. Bizarro seems to tick the right boxes, smooth, lots of inversions, good places to catch your breath between em
  24. At great adventure what order would you reccomend doing the loops, i'd think batman would provide a good sampler
