  1. If anything i can get a chocoalte tour out of it. SDL does have a bit of history, but it all depends on how finances work out, if it ends up being doable i will go there, if not wildwood is decently cheaper to get to and see. my plan C would be to see if i can win tickets to six flags great adventure again, i won some in 2012 on the radio, took my sister. Just had to pay 20 bucks for parking, she went on the green lantern and hated it (stand up coaster+5 foot tall sister). Bizarro or batman would be my coaster to go upside down on, depending on the lines at the time.
  2. I'd like SDL, perhaps i could head out there instead, never been to hershey pa.
  3. Mello Yello
  4. I love the commentaries, it does capture the feel of the ride, for example a POV of Hell Cat (the worst coaster i've been on) without it would not capture the insanity of it, but hearing someone curse the ride out would. Rob, love the commentaries, keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing you cover the future coasters that seaside heights will be getting, since the mouse, the Star Jet, and the Looping are all gone.
  5. To me it would be Hell Cat at Clementon park, it seems like it was stuck wherever there was space, does not fit the small park feel the rest of the park has. The prior coaster, the jackrabbit, was more suitable for a park of that size.
  6. El Toro, the first drop looks like it would cause me to utter every 4 letter word i know on the way down, leaving me unable to curse for the day
  7. Yeah it is the third, all 3 opened in 1984 so they're all about the same age. Probably the season in NJ starts later so they are already 3O years old wow! 30th annviersary boomerang ride on my 26th birthday sounds good (summer birthdays rock)

  9. First i remember for steel: Runaway Mine Train, six flags great adventure First i remember for wooden: JackRabbit at Clementon Park, NJ (the 1910's coaster that was torn down in the mid 00s) According to my mother (i was born in 1988, we first visited six flags in 1994) she took me on rolling thunder, i don't remember that tho
  10. The legendary great adventure, which has my favorite coaster, the runaway mine train (tame, but a classic arrow non looper) and an arrow log flume, both dating to 1974 Why don't you take a trip to Pennsylvania and grab Storm Runner? It could be a great start. Also, Bizarro at SFGAd has some historical value so that's not a bad choice either. Not saying that Boomerangs and SLCs are all crappy coasters but they are just not special enough to be your first coaster with inversions. That sounds decent, also the BOomerang i was thinking about is the 1st in the USA and 2nd in the world

  12. The only B&M are at six flags near me, and they are a bit expensive to get to, plus the lines there make it really sucky
  13. I've never been on a looping coaster, i always chicken out by the time i get to the line. i was thinking that if i am going to "pop my cherry" might as well get as many inversions as possible. My canidate is the Sea Serpent at morey's piers in NJ, a traditional sit down boomerang with the newer cars, and i was thinking of following it up with the custom SLC they have (Fly-The Great Nor'easter) even tho it is known as a painful ride. Sadly i was out of state before i could ride the great american scream machine (many inversions, good for what may be my first and only looping experience, at least i could say i went upside down more than once) From what I've read, the sea serpent is a well maintained and supposedly fairly smooth example of a boomerang.
  14. What coasters/rides would you like to see for casino pier, and funtime pier in seaside heights nj, their looping coaster and "Star Jet" coaster are gone, and have pretty much a clean slate. Rides i would like to see Some sort of Vekoma shuttle coaster, i know they get a bad reputation but...it would feel right to have one there, to replace the collapsed looping coaster. Schwartzkopf Jet Star, replace the "Star Jet (not a jet star)" with what it repalced, find a decent shape one and use it. Perhaps a wooden coaster for either pier, not sure what one would be the better option. Log Flume, definitely a good idea to have. Wild Mouse, they have one on casino pier and it looks undamaged, but time will tell on that one, if it is too damaged, find another vintage wild mouse of similar or identical design so that childhood memories will live on. Suspended Coaster, no brainer to have, if you cannot get a Vekoma Boomerang, put in one of those. Of course traditional rides, bumper cars, musik express, go-karts, etc. Vintage rides would be preferable for the traditional ones, a blend of old and new, give it a fair feeling to help bed in that this is the new seaside boardwalk, but also have a link to the past that would help people get used to the new part, help cushion the impact of the rebuilding.
