  1. Unless it's a Florida Park, they seem to defy the rule (SheiKra at Busch Gardens, Manta/Kraken at SeaWorld, or anything at DisneyWorld for that matter )
  2. I agree with one tweak: the success of a park typically depends on a main-event, centre piece ride. It's just a co-incidence that the vast majority of these ride are hypercoasters. I'd suggest that anything less would not guarantee longterm success. Take a look at Geauga Lake, it never had a hyper and it went belly-up.
  3. I would like to see either a steel Giga, or even SOB re-built as an Intamin woodie like El Toro
  4. - Jack Rabbit (Kennywood) 1920 - Thunderhawk (Dorney) 1923 - Thunderbolt (Kennywood) 1924
  5. I could see the removal of Gemini to make room for it. It would suck because Gemini was a record breaking ride at its time, but it could also be a nice passing of the torch gesture.
  6. I'm new to the site, I searched and couldn't find the answer.... just wanted to know what these "credits" are about?
  7. I like the woodie idea. Imagine an inverted Outlaw Run style ride at CP
  8. Really looking forward to GateKeeper I was thinking they needed a floorless or flying of some sort. Now they do . I have to ask one question though... what's next for Cedar Point? They now have a complete ride lineup. How can they possibly get better? Focus on kids rides? A 4D (Zacspin)? Any ideas?
  9. I would say Leviathan. B&M Giga sounds amazing on paper, but the ride and layout are tame compared to Millenium and I305. Over rated, but still a good ride.
  10. I think Flight Deck and Time Warp really need to go. They are rough, outdated, and not class-competitve for what they are. I would replace these with a top of the line inverted (ex. a Raptor or an Afterburn), or a winged coaster (being the new fad). The other option could be some sort of a high-speed launched Intamin (ex. an Xcelerator or a Maverick). Now that Wonderland finally has a record-class ride in Leviathan, I would love to see Cedar Fair focus on improving the depth of the park.
  11. I've been on 44 new coasters this year. Some highlights: Best: - El Toro - I305 - Phantom's Revenge Biggest Surprise: Verbolten (Backlot stunt coaster done RIGHT!) Biggest Disappointment: Leviathan (first drop is great, but only TWO hills for a B&M Giga??) More Notables: Blue Streak and Cedar Creek Mine Ride.... it took six visits to Cedar Point before I finally decided to ride them this year
  12. This may sound like a weird one, but I'd go with Jack Rabbit (Kennywood). The ride has no real restraints... only a single fixed-position bar holding you in (the ride was built in the 20's). I'm a small guy so there was a fair bit of room for me to get thrown around. The ejector airtime I got going down the double-dip was the first and only time I ever felt like I was actually going to get thrown off a roller coaster... scary as hell but SO awesome!
  13. I have a question for anyone who's been to SFMM - I'm planning a trip to MM sometime in 2013... but I want to time it for when after Full T. opens (likely early June, when kids are finishing school). How busy does the park get on a weekday assuming kids are out for summer? What kind of wait times would I be looking at? Thanks!
  14. Top 10 I've been on: 1. El Toro 2. Intimidator 305 3. Phantom's Revenge 4. Maverick 5. Millenium Force 6. Magnum XL-200 7. Apollo's Chariot 8. Nitro 9. Behemoth (Canada's Wonderland) 10. Ride of Steel Top 10 I want to go on: 1. Bizarro 2. The Voyage 3. Skyrush 4. Boulder Dash 5. Diamondback 6. Everything at Magic Mountain 7. Xcelerator 8. Raging Bull 9. Storm Runner 10. Steel Force
