I think it is a combo of that and how long it would take to evacuate if they ever needed to evacuate it. I think there have been quite a few incidents that were kept quiet and they have been thinking of closing it for a while. I understand why they are closing it, but it is such a shame and a waste. Really wish they would open it up to pass holders for an hour or two for last rides. -

^that is what I thought, the back two cars looked to be painted green cars to me. The restraint mechs and some parts are from the blue train though. Skyride was open for GTA attendees only. I rode BD once and saw Skyride moving. I went to check it out only to find an employee at the trolley station not letting guests through. Incredibly disappointing. -

Boulder Dash is back open! Appears to be the entire blue train running so the damage must not have been too bad. As for the green train... I am guessing they will have to buy a few new cars. -

But you know what? As stupid as it sounds, that's also by far the most likely scenario. They swap the trains every day (which is pretty much the same procedure as adding two) so it must have just been an error. When the blue train was released it moved up then stopped on the first station brake. The mechanic went back to the panel to probably try to get it in but maybe he opened the wrong set of brakes by accident. Whatever happened it was definitely human error. -

I've had plenty of amazing visits to the park this year and hundreds of rides on BD, so it hasn't been a bad year ride wise. But entire park wise it has been abysmal. No Wildcat for most of the year, the Skyride closure, minimal operations on Ghost Hunt and Saw Mill Plunge, and now this happens. This is easily the worst year the park has had in a long time. Anyway, I am hearing that they are starting work to get the coaster back up and running. It appears that the only major damage was to cars 1-3 on the green train, car 6 on the blue train, and the transfer track. I believe they are going to take all the cars off and try to make one good train out of the cars. Probably gonna be 1-4 blue and 5-6 green if I had to guess. I don't know why the maintenance guys messed up so badly though. For the most part they seem to know what they were doing. I just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the train coasting through the brake run. -

The mechanics came up to put two trains on so that was pretty exciting. Green train gets locked down and dispatched. They started the transfer while the other train was going around the circuit. They were having issues getting the transfer track to line up properly so the control booth mechanic goes to help. I see the green train coming back on the last hills and next thing I know it barreled through the brake run full speed (no brakes) into the blue train. Imagine if they didn't get the transfer track lined up properly?? The damage would have been catastrophic. I have no idea why they were doing a transfer while there was a train going through the circuit. -

I'll write more about this later in a few hours, but the green train collided into the blue train at full speed. I watched the whole thing next in line for the front. Unbelievable. -

They want to do a little bit of work on it every morning, mainly just replacing boards. Not really an airtime ride but I guess there might be one or two spots. I think the return hills would be good for air but they need some new track there. -

Wildcat opened today and I got three rides on it, two in the front and one in the second row. The MVR track work is excellent but there are a few spots that could use some work. The second half in particular is pretty shaky and the trains are not tracking that well. But the first half is mostly much improved. The bad news is it will only be running one train for the rest of the year. The odds of them running two is very low to begin with but it is not programmed to run two yet. So expect massive lines. I waited in a sluggish line for about an hour. The ride will also be opening at 1pm for (I assume) the rest of season, so if you want to ride, be sure to wait outside the entrance before that or you will be waiting a very long time. Also I was on the last ride of the night and it stopped on the brake run and they couldn't get it going so they evacuated us. It was very awesome! -
^Just hinting at what I heard, I would hate to see it go. From what I have seen this season, it doesn't seem to get a huge line and the cycle seemed to be shortened a lot. I think it's safe to say the tea cups are being moved, possibly to Buzzsaws spot. I think the placement of the ride will either be north to south or west to east. Not sure how large the ride is, but it seems like there is a possibility of Slingshot getting the boot too.

As long as its not Buzzsaw I'm OK with that. Also, I'm really really really jealous Great Adv is likely not getting one of these. I don't think Buzzsaw is going to be there next year.. One of the other flats is likely going to move to that spot to make room for the frisbee in the center of the south end area.

^^ Straight from the official rules. Winners are then permitted to share and discuss what they’ve seen with any party. I don't think there will be much to share though unless there are some details in the animation they show. We all pretty much know 3/4 of what the layout looks like. -
Ohio State Fair accident

Wow what a terrible accident, very sad and upsetting. It appears that the people on the ground came off the ride after it stopped. The car appeared to slam into the opposite car which those people were probably in. I'm not sure about what caused this. Doesn't seem like the floor had anything to do with it because even if it is fully raised, the cars would not hit it. Just seems like the car somehow detached from the ride. Hopefully they can find the cause. I read somewhere that rain on Monday caused them to rush to get the rides open so maybe they overlooked something during an inspection. -

Skyride was usually closed on hot days or if there is any bad weather in the forecast. The ride is probably the most reliable ride there and hasn't had any issues. I enjoyed the ride and it was really nice to take a break from the rides and go enjoy some views. It will be a real shame if it doesn't reopen. BD rides much better in the front of any of the 6 cars, sounds like you may have rode in the back of one of the cars. I do think the green train is running better too, but I thought the blue train ran better last year. The blue train got refurbed this season so it probably needs some time to break in. My favorite seats are the front, 6-1, and 5-1. Each of those rows are awesome. I'm a huge fan of El Toro, but I like BD slightly more. I wish you waited for the front, would have likely had an amazing ride. But there is always next time. -

Wildcat is supposed to begin testing tomorrow night, or shortly after. Will be opening around Thursday if everything goes as planned. Hopefully enough people will complain and maybe the park will rethink their decision. Seems really insane, the ride always has a line and is very popular and unique. Would be a such a shame to see it come down. -

I talked with Jerry today, Skyride is permanently closed. He said it was his call and obviously doesn't want something like GE's incident happening there. There has to be another solution, I would rather them cage up the cars than remove the ride. It's so unique and is one of the best rides there. Very unfortunate and upsetting. -

I was there today too, this is the second time I have seen the front blocked off on the green train this season. I think usually it's just a seatbelt issue but there were lots of wasted front row rides today. The plan for the land is water park expansion in the future. The original plan was to fill up all the land in a year or two, but now it seems like they will add to it a little at a time. I'm guessing there will be some sort of addition next year. The project manager for the Wildcat work said that Wildcat's opening is now days away, seems like they still have a lot to do. A week ago I heard they were shooting for this weekend but I don't think they will make it but you never know. -

Jerry said it should be open by the fireworks weekend which would be 7/1. Could open before that but probably will be open then. Testing should be starting soon so hopefully everything goes smoothly.
