  1. It could be another reason to go but I barely get out there already, and I've been down here two and a half years. It's an okay area but I'm just not as into it as everyone else in my demographic.
  2. This is me on every trip. I'm saving my money for food. I pack enough maps incase one gets damaged.
  3. I think about this in my head a lot. I've stuck with one that I like the design for a lot inspired by several parks. It's 1/4 Disneyland Hong Kong, 1/4 Kings Island, and 1/2 Traditional German park. It's got a main square that leads to a central hub like Disneyland, with 4 zones that branch off of it. An action area like Kings Island with a coaster inspired by Cop Car Chase. A jungle section with a dark ride like Indiana Jones Adventure. An area reminiscent of Discoveryland where a Victorian Style meets futuristic rides. Last but not least an area primarily beautiful gardens scenery that's very relaxing, with some rides sprinkled in it. Overall a good mix of thrill and family attractions. There would also be a monorail that goes from the park to the resort hotel. Also on the land there would be space for expansion and even a second theme park, and other land for possibly more resorts or a nightlife space.
  4. I can't wait to get out there someday, when I have money.
  5. No, you're not alone. I was never really a fan of interactive dark rides. Can't take them as seriously as non-interactive.
  6. I remember driving from Hilton Head back to VA, and I saw ONE billboard for HRP the whole way. I told my mom we should go back to Myrtle Beach and check it out and she said maybe next time... Oh well...
  7. Do they still have the Batman and Robin coaster down there? Any plans on putting that together?
  8. Are there any really good pictures of Cop Car Chase out there? I never got a chance to ride it when I lived in Germany cause I was too young (and scared).
  9. Seeing as how I've only ridden the Hulk and Wildfire, I'll go with Wildfire. I love the Hulk without a doubt, but Wildfire just sticks in my mind more. Maybe someday I'll ride Kumba, or even Khan if I'm lucky.
  10. ^What was Kings Island like during Paramount? I've never been there before. I remember running into the Flight of Fear queue at KD one evening (it was Halloween actually), and had no idea they turned the whole thing into a maze which I ran through behind my younger brother anyway. We went through the whole crappy maze and I couldn't even ride. I think this was the first year CF took over.
  11. I had no idea what was going on with Disaster Transport. I heard there used to be some kind of pre-show or something, but it was down there with the worst. I also loved Flight of Fear back in the Paramount days, Kings Dominion in general back then was more "theme" than "park". The best would be anything at DollyWood, SDC, and Verbolten at BGW. I would say Disney or Universal, but I guess we all expect that now.
  12. How can I lower the terrain without making water? I'm doing an inverted coaster that looks similar to Black Mamba.
  13. I want to say my kind of coaster would be if Maverick and Wildfire, or Alpengeist had a child. But then I like to think about if I had a coaster in my backyard. In this case I'll go with a Euro-Fighter, preferably like Mystery Mine. All of these coasters though are currently in my personal top 10.
  14. So what part of the city would this be located? I think it's a much needed addition!
  15. Yeah, I thinks it's a great price if someone wants to pick it up.
  16. I spoke to a rep from the group selling off the rides, and the asking price for the Time Machine is $9 million. I thought that was interesting.
  17. Central Florida hands down. Even though the one time I was in SoCal was great (it was for business reasons, so no parks) I'd rather have a nice long vacation down in the middle of all those great parks. One day I'll get back out to SoCal, but not any time soon unfortunately.
  18. Went to SDC back in July 2011, and just visited Dollywood a couple months ago. This is tough, I would tie it if I could but I'll give the edge to Dollywood just because I picked without looking.
  19. This is really a hard question. It's "theme" versus "amusement", and "action" versus "atmosphere". I think I'll go with WDW. I used to be all about the roller coasters, and it wasn't until very recently that I realized there's more to the industry than that. I love the immersive feeling I get from WDW. If you would have asked me a couple years ago, I would have said Cedar Point hands down. Although it still is a very close finish between these two.
  20. I'll have to say Cedar Fair, though if I got into detail Six Flags would actually hold up pretty strong. Both chains have their pros and cons, but I'm giving CF the edge only for their Operations.
  21. DVD guy, but I completely forgot about my PS3...
  22. I would definitely check it out if it materialized, and maybe find some kind of job opportunity. @Tunaboy407 according to Google maps, that area is part of Dominion Valley Country Club and hundreds of houses.. a great way to "preserve the lands history".
  23. My thoughts exactly. I was upset to find out that all they've built on that land in Haymarket are houses and country clubs.
