  1. Fantastic, thanks. I think Ill start straight at X2 and move clockwise, and save Revolution for last if theres any time left. When drop of doom at Great Adventure had VR, there were 3 lines - normal, VR and flash pass. I dont quite know why the station was designed with three lines in the first place...but it worked well. Every dispatch had 24 seats and they had 16 VR units, so they would fill the other 8 seats from the non-vr line. Because there was almost no one on the non-vr line, you could ride vr, and then just ride again as a non vr immediately. That did mean most dispatches did not launch full, even with a 1 hour VR line.
  2. Going to the park in 2 weeks for the first time in 4 years. Are X2 and Tatsu still the rides with the longest lines? Should I head straight to them first? I believe JL is popular but not overwhelming right? Or has the ride strategy changed? When I last went, Full Throttle and Twisted Colossus werent a thing. Which ride is doing VR, and is it all day or during limited times?
  3. Paintball building? Every section of the park should have a Freefall with a different theme.
  4. 8 pax per train? Maybe the plan is to have a line so longer it makes every other ride a walk-on
  5. Six Flags used to have early entry with Discover but that went away. On the no loose items rides, you ARE allowed to bring your souvenir cup and glasses. You can leave your glasses with the souvenir cups by the exit.
  6. Six Fkags used YOLO extensively as their marketing push for that ride. The auto correct is amusing. Unlike the auto correct pain in the ass that turns l.o c. k e. r, s into lockers Six Flags should buy Dueling Dragons from Universal. Worlds first transfer of roller coaster from Universal to Six Flags.
  7. Yes, I put a mockup together based on the description. Sorry for the rushed photoshop.
  8. SFMM should get a "Freefall" style ride. They could locate it somewhere near the exit of the Riddlers Revenge ride. Also, a monorail.
  9. World's first "4d water flume teacups dark ride" You heard it here first.
  10. My primary goal is to ride everything. And I mean everything, not the "coaster fanatics top 3 everything." Ok, not everything, not the kids rides. but yes many of the flat rides, including the swings and teacups. So im concerned that 8 hours isnt enough time.
  11. I would guess the park is closing early for some late night private event going on in the park that night. Or it has to do with being on the tail end of summer and during those Friday school days the park is probably going to be relatively dead. I agree that is strange though, I like getting some night rides and having to leave at 6pm is pretty lame! Do you know if there is a way to check if the park is hosting an event?
  12. I hope thats the case. I still want night rides though, theyre the best rides.
  13. I am looking at Friday! https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/plan-your-visit/park-operating-schedule Friday 25: 10:30am to 6:00pm Even 9pm on Saturday seems early for summer. Again, the east coast parks are open until 10pm even on Wednesdays!
  14. Hey folks, planning a trip for end of August. Havent been to the park since the YOLOcoaster was brand new (and I didnt get to ride it because the line closed before the park did). Looking at the hours for the end of August... 10:30am to 6pm Even on Fridays. WTF Has that always been the case? I used to go to the park 1-2 times a year and I can never remember leaving before dark, never mind at 6 freaking pm. For comparison, Great Adventure is open until 10pm for the entire month of August, as is New England, which is a small park. Universal looks to close at 7pm, but opens early at 8am.
  15. I went to Dorney Park for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and was extremely pleased to see that the only paid l.ockers were optional in the waterpark. Every ride had the cubbie system, including some where the operator would shift a door for train 1 vs train 2 (so people on the other train wouldnt have access to your stuff). "But it slows things down" The thing is, Six Flags still allows (and always will allow) people to place their souvenir drink cups and glasses. It is 95% money grab, 5% ride opps. Indeed, if it were about ride opps, then a much more effective strategy would be single rider lines that are well used in every ride. Nothing more fun than an hour late where you see 2 or 3 seats dispatching empty every single ride. Additionally, restricting access to the stations at the turnstile, so people line up for each car with the right amount of people, and none of that last minute "oh actually Im waiting to ride with them" crap.
  16. We were allowed to ride 4 rides without having to re-enter the ride. The big boat that splashes, demon drop, and 2 of the roller coasters. "Chickie & Pete's french fries and beer are all you need to get through this park...whether you're vegan or a carnivore. " We were there for 10 hours, so while the fries worked for lunch, we needed a better dinner.
  17. A couple more things I forgot: 1. The vegetarian options in the park are abysmal. Took some work to feed my girlfriend. My sister, who is vegan, would only be able to eat french fries if she ever came. 2. The font on the menu screens is tiny. Im in the water park. Our glasses are safely stored in a l.ocker. DONT USE FONT SIZE 3 FOR THE FOOD ITEMS and 90% of the screen to advertise your souvenir cups.
  18. The other report reminded me of a couple of things I missed: 1) Why are some ride operators not happy with letting you ride again when the station is literally empty? Like 100% empty? Six Flags has no issue with letting you sit over and over again. 2) WTF is wrong with the wild mouse design queue? So they have four gates set up, and 4 rows ready to load. They open up gate 1 and the two people sit front and back only rather than side by side like every other ride in the word. Ok? Then they open up gate 4 and those folks do the same? Ok. So they get sent off and 2 new cars come in. They open gate 2, and then gate 4 again. We're in gate 3. Hello? Why don't we get to ride? So weird. 3) Big kudus for the park letting you store your items for free in the cubbies. Six Flags forcing you to pay $1 per ride is really grating.
  19. Went on Friday for the first time and had a fantastic day. There were some huge storms in the AM, so rather than arriving at 10am we arrived at noon. Drive was supposed to be 1 hour 20, but took 2 hours. We passed 4 very serious accidents involving trucks - one was blocking every lane in the other direction. Even then, we got the closest non-handicap, non-priority parking spot available. Hit the water park from noon to around 3:30pm. No lines at all, for anything. Rode every single slide. Everything was open except what looked like the smaller lazy river. The open lazy river was great, and blew the six flags one away. Then walked over to the main park for the water rides. Unfortunately, the rapids were closed (although they did open later). Got absolutely soaked in the boat ride, where they were running 3 boats, each with 1-4 people (capacity of like 30 each). I went twice, and then hit the bridge. WOW. The force of the water on the bridge is insane. The logs were fun but shorter than expected. Went back to the water park to change. Caught a 5pm circus show in the main theater. Then rode pretty much everything in the park, catching the Enterprise at 9:57pm. They really hide that thing! Steel Force was down the first loop, but opened later. Demon Drop was closed at 9:15pm for "issues" but was open again at 9:40 with all 4 cars going. Overall, a fantastic time, thanks to the weather for scaring everyone away from the water park. I think our longest wait was for the bumper cars, only because we had to wait 1.5 cycles. Also, the bumper car area is way too small + too crowded. They need to pull 4 cars or expand the area.
  20. Last year I bought a 2017 Six Flags gold pass during the Labor Day Weekend flash sale and was able to use it at Great Adventure & Great America while the 2016 season was still going. The "catch" is you have to redeem your pass from the park you bought it from. SF makes you process your pass at the park you bought it at b/c they have different prices for Regualr and Gold passes at each park. If they didn't do this than you could just buy at the cheapest park and use it at your home park. SFMM and Gadv passes cost more than other parks, so people near them could buy passes at SFA or Escape, the cheapest park and activate them at their actual home park. CF lets you process a Platinum pass at any park b/c they have uniform pricing for Platinum passes. Mexico City always has the best deal. Annual Pass is $35, before any sales. Good at all the parks.
  21. My favorite water park slides are actually the highest capacity ones, like the mat rides where no one is controlling when you go, and you just wait 3 seconds for the person in front of you to clear the first turn. I find nothing worse than standing in 90 degree heat, barefoot, for 30 minutes, for the luxury of climbing 500 stairs to access a 16 second slide. Glad to here the logs and rapids are nearby. I never ride them at Six Flags because I dont want a wet butt all day.
  22. Hm. I'll look into the line pass at Dorney. Their water park looks to be a tad larger, with two wave pools and 2 lazy rivers, which should suck up people. Id ask about the ride quality of the slides, but I dont think anyone on this website goes for the water parks I noticed they have a Freefall, which is one of my all-time favorite rides, and Six Flags in their infinite knowledge decided to close theirs. That might be worth the trip alone
  23. Hey folks. Ive never even heard of this park, much less been to it, but apparently its not far from New Brunswick! Ive read the last few pages, and the consensus seems to be that crowds arent an issue. Does that hold for the water park? I'm thinking of going Monday. I went to Hurricane Harbor last year and it was a disaster, so I was hoping this spot would be a little more pleasant. If not, I think Ill go tubing off Easton.
  24. Anyone here been to Dorney? Any opinions on how the water park compares to Hurricane harbor? I went to HH last year and it was horrible, and apparently Dorney is less crowded?
