  1. I havent but a friend live tweeted their trip. They were the only passenger. Also make sure to check the new bus schedules, they just changed Sunday.
  2. PABT is difficult to navigate if you know your bus, but not your gate. The gates are well signed. There are also touch screens to show you the best walking path. Also, there is a north building and a south building. They are connected on the 2nd floor, but ar ground level you need to go outside to get between them. I recommend grabbing a quick bite at: Los Tacos No.1, West 43rd Street, New York, NY Within the building itself, you're limited to an Au Bon Pain, Starbucks, and Jamba Juice for fast options
  3. All I have to add is that of the many issues I have heard about Six Flags, I have never heard about staff harassing customers as a complaint.
  4. This wasn't a high school security guard like Six Flags. These were older officers from K9 units wearing bulletproof vests. They were not messing around so I wasn't going to put up a fight even if it was annoying. So? They're still mall cops with zero authority. They are free to review my paid admission ticket. They have no reason to view ID. You don't need one to access a mall. "papers please" and "just following orders" Where have I heard that before? No one said that.No need to fight or swear. "Can I see your ID?" "No."
  5. Back on page 44, we discussed the water park and what kind of pricing it would have. It still hasn't opened, and no date has been given, but buried in the website I found the following: Tickets: $44.10 General $35.10 Under 48" $35.10 Seniors Discount $26.10 Seniors Under 48" Discount $22.50 Beach Pass Thats....reasonable! I assume the beach pass is just for parents to lounge by the wave pool. Thats a cool policy, most places charge full admission for that. For reference, Hurricane Harbor charges: General Admission $48.99 Children Under 48" $38.99 And the indoor resorts in the Poconos charge $80+ This is all subject to change of course. At these prices, I hope to visit in late January when the kids are in school and I can go on like a Wednesday and have the place to myself.
  6. I would ask to speak with management about this. Completely unacceptable. Its not their job to harass paying customers.
  7. Hours have been modified/cut again: Monday - Thursday - 12pm - 7pm Friday - 11am - 9pm Saturday - 10am - 10pm Sunday - 11am - 8pm
  8. LOL I came to post that even though they hit the opening date it's still a work in progress... https://www.nj.com/bergen/2019/12/indoor-ski-slope-at-american-dream-is-open-heres-a-first-look-inside.html Supposedly this thing was the first thing completed at the mall, and was actually ready to go 5+ years ago. And they still couldnt get it ready in time for their media day wtf
  9. Thanks for the report! It looks like this really is a draw for families, which should mean it will continue to be quiet weekdays and mobbed weekends and holidays. --- Also, the Big Snow website is live (and is much better than the Nickelodeon website) https://www.bigsnowamericandream.com
  10. Looks like the ski slope will open Dec 5 on schedule Prices aren't terrible. "The package for first-timers will start at $49.99. It includes an equipment rental, helmet, ski pants and a jacket, a slope access ticket and a complimentary introductory lesson through SNOW Operating’s proprietary Terrain Based Learning method of instruction. For those who have their own equipment, a slope access ticket for those ages 7 and up will cost $34.99 for two hours or $49.99 for four hours." https://www.nj.com/bergen/2019/11/trail-map-for-american-dream-malls-ski-park-shows-what-it-will-look-like-inside.html Should be a decent place to teach the kids the basics before heading up to Vermont They wont have alcohol, but they say a Yard House will open next door, probably in March?
  11. These guys really suck at their job. https://www.nj.com/bergen/2019/11/dreamworks-waterpark-at-american-dream-mall-delays-opening.html
  12. Too many mixed messages. All the media before was about the traffic apocalypse and congestion and whatnot. IE: Stay away! Followed by "well actually, nothing is really open" IE: Stay away! Let's see how they handle the water park opening. If they have another issue where it opens with all the main slides "still being inspected" or whatnot , thats the kind of poor PR that lingers. But regardless, raising prices + cutting hours at the same time is pretty damn stupid. I was actually thinking of going next week after work since itll be empty, but with the reduced hours, thats no longer an option. Also, folks have asked about new pricing. I accidentally visited the website for the Minnesota location and they have a mix of options. https://nickelodeonuniverse.com/tickets/ You can buy an all-day pass or pay per ride, like most boardwalk theme parks. Looks like their roller coaster = 6 points = $7.60 Their day pass is $36.99, which is pretty good. I would never buy a single ride with that pricing.
  13. I saw on twitter someone who says they went yesterday evening he estimated there were 25 customers total. Also looks like they reduced their hours. Pre-opening PR: The theme park is expected to be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Current: Monday - Thursday - 11am - 7pm Friday - 11am - 9pm Saturday - 10am - 10pm Sunday - 10am - 8pm
  14. No. There are 4 bus lines operating daily however. 3 local, one express from NYC. Earliest train service would be in the March schedule, but even that is not guaranteed. Im guessing if there is train service next March, it will be weekends only. NJT cut a lot of service last year due to construction + labor shortages. They havent fully restored those trains. Adding service to a mall before restoring those trains would result in an outrage.
  15. Kalahari is also not transit accessible. There are millions of people in the region without cars who are pretty much limited to Hurricane Harbor if they want to reach a water pack on a bus. Sadly, I think it will be very pricey. I do like water parks though. I hope theyll have a Wednesday groupon or something and I can take a day off work and visit it.
  16. I havent been to holiday in the park in NJ, but at Magic Mountain they really do an incredible job with the decorations. Well worth the visit. Makes it a completely different experience.
  17. I thought about going once, saw the prices, and noped right out. In other news, the one store that was supposed to open was delayed again https://www.nj.com/bergen/2019/10/we-thought-this-american-dream-store-was-opening-friday-its-not.html
  18. I'm really looking forward to the Dreamworks water park. I only pray that the price stays reasonable (like $30-40) compared to Nickelodeon. Imagine if the price was $80 to enter a water park. People would riot. The locals are not stupid. Price is always a factor. Not just the "build it, and they will come" mentality. Have you seen the prices for the indoor waterparks in the Poconos? Kalahari 11-09-2019 Waterpark General All Day Waterpark Pass 119.99 I would expect the same ballpark.
