  1. Not a pouch, but a box that locks at the same time the restraints are put down. It would have to be part of the car design, not an easy retrofit. There would still be no guarantee of people actually putting all of their stuff in there. Agreed, but for 99% of us, we have keys and a phone all day. Saying "pay $1 to leave it before you enter a 1 hour line" sucks.

  3. I can agree with this. Bins kill capacity, when Magnum had the bins taken away in 2014 the actual hourly numbers raised by 300-400 riders per hour. They can adopt a better bin system. The delay is because people have to squeeze by their seats, place their items, come back, squeeze again. If there was a way to place items in the bin before boarding, and have it outside the exit after leaving the ride, there would be zero delay. Hell, a bin on the ride that allows space for glasses, cells, and keys, and is locked along with the restraints would work even better. But that would be a cost for Six Flags. And heavens forbid incurring a cost.
  4. See, so for this season to add to the awesomeness from last year, they're adding Joker, Harley Quinn, Skyway and a celebrity appearance from Millennium Force's #1 ride op. How could you miss out on an event like that? Where's your holiday spirit? You can ride a god damn 80 MPH hypercoaster when it's below freezing in New Jersey in January along with a killer invert, a fun flyer, an awesome 4D coaster and if you hate yourself... a sh*tty standup. What more could you possibly ask for? Plus those waffles and . I live in Atlanta, so could go to Holiday in the Park there if its similar. I'll be in DC, so it would still be an extra three hours from there to go to SFGAdv. I could do SFA but haven't heard many good things about it. I'm still up for it though. Just disappointed in missing the two best in the park. Magic Mountain has the best holiday in the park, because unlike the babies in NJ they open everything.
  5. The bus (linked above) is reliable but it gets you there after the park opens and you have to leave before it closes. If you want a full day (get there before open, leave after close), then a car rental isnt a bad option. Should run you ~$60 for the day (plus parking).
  6. Unfortunately, we didnt arrive until an hour after opening (noon) Good tip on hitting Nitro first. I always enjoy Bizarro. However, the special effects werent on this time (they were in September) I would have suggested starting at the post directly above you which mentioned liens for every ride in the park. As for staffing on Monday, Id say 95% of the food, shops and games were open and staffed. Only random places like the food truck like Bizarro were closed.
  7. Had a great day at the park yesterday! It was my first fright fest. Crowds - A little more than I expected, but very manageable. Tons of kids in the morning, teens in the evening. Operations - Everything was open except Superman and the VR (but skull mountain was operating). This surprised me, I would have though VR was easier to do with less loads. Both Joker and Kinga Ka were closed in the morning but opened by 1pm. The sky buckets were only open on one side and had 30+ minute waits. Come on Six Flags, you can do better here. Theyre buckets. Speaking of waits, this was the first time I learned about and used the app with wait times. I found it generally accurate in that 5 minutes = walk on. However, it promised us a 25 minute wait for Joker, which ended up being 60. It was eventually updated to say 70. My day: Went straight to Joker. Closed. Went straight to Kinga Ka. Closed, but there were 50+ people waiting outside the line. Went to the drop of doom for the first time. Holy crap is it far away. And why is the line so narrow? Really enjoyed the ride. Line was under 10 minutes, and even shorter when we were done. Could have ridden again and waited less than 5 minutes by GF didnt want to. GF wanted Safari but wait time was already listed at 70 minutes. Did Bizzaro, walked straight into the station, 1 group of 4 in front of us. Went to El Toro, but line was 40+ minutes Instead we watched the sea lion show. And apparently theres a lion next to the theater. Ive been to the park many times and never noticed... Rode Twister, walk on. Wanted Sky Buckets. Wait was too long. Went to Joker. App said 25 minutes, was 60 minute wait. This was my first time. It was fun, but way too short. Would not wait more than 15 minutes for this in the future. Went for lunch at Panda. At this point it was 4pm. So we went to buy our maze write bands. 5 of the mazes were open. Wasteland and Voodoo were closed. I was shocked when the lady at the register said "that will be $17 (instead of $22), its discounted today because two mazes are closed" SIX FLAGS OFFERING A DISCOUNT BECAUSE STUFF WAS CLOSED!?!?! Ahem. If you plan on going tomorrow, those two will be closed as well. We went to the Darkness. About a 30 minute wait. Very enjoyable experience, would recommend. Certainly a unique experience. Then the Manor. Also about a 20 minute wait. Good set design. Would recommend. GF wanted to see some shows. Went to see The Awakening + Dance Show. Eh. Not impressed. We left before it ended. Went to see Slash a magic show. Pretty good. Would recommend. Would have been better in a smaller venue. Does take about 35 minutes though, which eats up valuable ride time. At this point we ran to the car to grab jackets + gloves. Temperature was plunging. Then did Cell Block 6 maze. Also around a 20 minute wait. Probably the weakest of the mazes. Quick detour to Deja Vu (walk on) Moved right along to the 3D clown maze. No line. Pretty cool. Would wait 15 minutes for this. And then to the last open maze. Blood Shed. Maybe a 15 minute wait at this point. Felt like the longest, and creepy. At this point it was 9:37. Unfortunately, the the entrance to Blood Shed is near El Toro, the exit is not. Walked very quickly to El Toro... And it was a walk on! Not just a walk on, but a "you may stay in your seat if no one is in line" walk on. Rode 3 times in a row. Could have gone 1 more time but didnt want to risk a headache before the drive home. The girls behind us rode 5 in a row. Out of park by 10:15pm. Tips: There is a fright fest specific map which is provided where they sell maze wristbands. You should grab it. There was also a paper supplement for Monday and Wednesday as the show times are different than weekends, and the 2 mazes were closed. bring winter clothes for after dark! Other rides I didnt go on: Nitro advertised 70 minute waits all day until around 9pm when it said 25 Batman advertised 5 minutes all afternoon and raised to 25 in the evening. Sky screamer said 25 all day Green lantern: Didnt pay attention to Safari was 70 all day, they need bigger vehicles Skull went from 5-25 throughout the day Batman indoor was 25 most of the time (lol, no, lol)
  8. No, it's a normal operating day. Everything should be open. Great I hope its relaxing
  9. Should I expect most rides to be open? Or is it a "this half is closed" situation?
  10. This Monday should be quieter than Sunday right? I know the kids get the day off, but us real adults dont
  11. Well considering this started when I quoted someone who disliked the flash pass and I was in agreement with them.... Also, if flash passes were so great, why doesnt everybody buy one? Conversely, if the souvenir bottles werent great, why does everyone have one?
  12. The angle of the shooting rainbows indicates a collision with the overhead wire system. The strength of the rainbows indicates a large force, capable of destroying the cables. A catastrophic failure of the cable system would result in a mass casualty event, quite the opposite of positivity. Morale of story: Flash Pass bad. Morale 2: Be glad NJ still has the sky buckets, which sadly Magic Mountain removed many moons ago. Theyre both an enjoyable experience and a good for of transportation.
  13. Ironic from the guy literally shooting things out of his eyes in his picture
  14. I have. And you are correct. The thing is, RMT never gets a line long enough to warrant a Flash Pass. HOWEVER, Toro, Nitro, Ka, Batman, Bizarro, Zumanjaro, Green Lantern, and Superman flash pass lines all merge with the standby line in or right before the station. Ok thats good then. I have no issue with that. Obviously those folks are less memorable than the ones taking your seat. And what about those kids who entered through the exit at the teacups. Flash pass also right? I mean, it made no sense, there was no line.
  15. Well there's also an El Toro, Nitro, Kingda Ka, and Skull Mountain in the park. But Im not crazy right? The flash pass access is via the exit and you steal someones seat.
  16. You folks clearly havent been on the mine roller coaster ride recently.
  17. That is exactly how its set up for gold and regular FP users. Just sayin'. Hm? No its not. They enter through the exit and then plop their fat asses into your seat right as your gate is about to open. And then you stare them down until they cry.
  18. Honestly the blame is more how Six Flags handles flash pass than on you. In an ideal world, the flashpass line would join at the station entrance. The only people allowed past the turnstile into the station would be those that could board next (2 or 4 per line, depending on ride). None of that 10 lines and 250 people crap six flags pulls. That way, you can pick your line and not steal it out from someone who was about to sit in that seat. The people in the regular line could then plan accordingly (ie, a group would ride together as planned)
  19. Because Toro is amazing and the tea cups blow? I love Toro. But when done right, the teacups are hands down the most intense ride in the park. I always leave them for last because the people Im with arent able to ride anything else after were done on the teacups. I get the appeal. I also see the appeal of a $6,000 first class plane ticket. But Id rather take the money and spend it elsewhere. Mind you, Im not advocating for more people to ride the teacups. Leave the line short for me. I also still think you are missing the point that if someone has been waiting 10 years to visit the park, and will not get a chance to go back for years.... it only makes sense to invest in a fast pass. You get to go to the park often. Why would you invest in in FP? I think you are only looking at this from one perspective. Yours. There's a lot of other situations that warrant a FP. Let me ask you this. So I've never been to Great Adventure before. I won't get to go back for.. who knows how long. You're telling me, that the one time I get to go, September 17, I should not buy a FP? Keep in mind I only can stay from open until 5 or 6 pm. And this will be on a weekend during Fright Fest. My experience will be better without a Flash Pass? I won't have to rush around to experience all of the rides without a Flash Pass? I will be able to get in all of the major attractions, including re-rides, without a flash pass? If I don't have a FP, what is the proper game plan to do All the big coasters in the park, as a first time visitor, and leave by 6 pm, without a flash pass? I'd love to hear your genuine answers to all of these questions. Ready? GO! Buddy, its your money. You do as you wish. Some people spend thousands buying dolls. Whatever makes you happy. Just know that if Im about to board, and you use your pass to cut in line into the car I was about to get on, well, enjoy the new refreshing taste in your unlimited beverage that you left in the cup holder. Ok no, but I will give you a dirty look and you will feel bad.
  20. Just looked it up. Thats something I need to try. However, they need to go bigger. The teacups have: -Individual rotation -Group rotation -Entire ride rotation The looper only has two rotations. They need another level of spin. And then the entire thing should be put on a track and move at 45mph.
  21. If something like The Joker was mixed in with teacup technology.....my God....
  22. You don't have to tell me. Generally speaking the ride has stopped and other riders are boarding by the time we stop spinning. Trying to walk off of those things without falling is usually almost impossible. Its a good thing the bathrooms in the ice cream building are nearby and so hidden
  23. Because Toro is amazing and the tea cups blow? I love Toro. But when done right, the teacups are hands down the most intense ride in the park. 24. And after two hours of waiting in the hot sun you can use it to wipe your tears. Seriously though, go wait for Nitro around 5 or 6PM on ANY OCTOBER SATURDAY and tell me what you think of Flash Pass. The line routinely spills out the entrance and due to the fact that more than half of every train with exit passes and the Flash Pass line goes all the way to the bottom of the stairs the standby line will always exceed 3 hours. But, why would I do that? If I see the line is excessive then I will go ride something where it isnt. LIke this past weekend. Toro looked too long so I went to the teacups. Mind you, four people did access the teacups before me by using their flash pass (WTF). Fortunately they did not take the green teacup I wanted. The only exception being the last coaster of the day, where I dont mind a 1 hour line because I will ride well after the park closes. That was my plan for Joker but I screwed up park closing times
  25. And Ill wave back with all the cash I saved.
