If you've never been to Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom before, head to the Magic Kingdom. Otherwise EPCOT is definitely my best pick. There aren't a lot of "rides" in the traditional sense but there is definitely plenty to see. I could spend a whole day just checking out the different pavillions around the lake. Definitely make a restaurant reservation beforehand as they do fill up, Teppan Edo is a really good option.

Photo TR: Thad's 2014 TPR Scandi Trip
azza29 replied to Barge84's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great update Thad! Piraten was certainly a tight squeeze, the bruises were worth it though - superb coaster! I had forgotten about the jungle ride, epic length and the ride vehicle is a banana - what's not to love? -
^I saw Dr Zhivago when they premiered it in Melbourne a few years back. Excellent show, glad to see it'll be playing on Broadway. Definitely one I wouldn't mind seeing again at some point.

Great TR Craig - how was the Wallace & Gromit ride, any good? I definitely need to plan a UK trip soon... -
Worst Ride Replacements/Downgrades
azza29 replied to Pyrozooka0's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not the "worst" replacement, but Looney Tunes River Ride at Movie World was far superior to the new Junior Driving School. It was a shame to see the park replace a unique, ambitious dark ride with something more suited to an FEC. -
#BanSelfieSticks - Help Us Spread The Word!
azza29 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not theme park related, but I was happy to see that selfie sticks have been banned at the Australian Open tennis tournament this year. Hopefully other events will start following suit. -
Universal Studios Singapore Discussion Thread
azza29 replied to Adriel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I trust Universal Singapore's maintenance much more than Fantasilandia. With Battlestar reopening and Puss In Boots coaster coming on line, 2015 should be an excellent year for this park. -
Got the island this morning. Feel like I'm done with this game for a while; found the second half of this Christmas event to be more annoying than anything else...
-
Just got the Spruce Caboose, Island is another 4000 bells away so unless the event extends a couple of days I doubt I'll get that one.

Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) Discussion Thread
azza29 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The new hotel looks great, always like this style of resort. Hopefully the park isn't too far off some sort of Downtown Disney-type development as well. After staying at their Hollywood Hotel last year, there is really not a lot to do around the resort once the park closes, and it's a long shuttle bus, then train ride into central Hong Kong. -
Are Alpine Coasters credits?
azza29 replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Roller Skater is a good benchmark. I don't mind admitting that my count probably includes a dozen or so "questionable" credits. I tend to count every coaster I've been on, but the only time I've ridden anything smaller than a Roller Skater is on a TPR trip, and generally during some kind of ERT. I mean, I can't not count the Dog Fart coaster! -

^^^Glad you liked your gift, Tyler, and I'm relieved it arrived in one piece! -
I rode it for the first time last month and felt the same way. Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, but nothing particularly memorable either. I don't have strong feelings either way to see this close, seems likely that it'll sit SBNO for a while since the park just opened a major new ride this year.

I saw Horrible Bosses 2 tonight, and I'm not sure which was worse - that or Dumb & Dumber To. Both godawful films which had you hating the leads five minutes in. At least Horrible Bosses 2 had a handful of decent jokes, but I don't remember the characters being so stupid in the first film. Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston's (brief) appearances were somewhat redeeming. Weirdly, they showed the trailer for The Interview before the movie. Given that all this stuff is digital these days I'm surprised it hadn't been replaced in the pre-show. Looks like it might have had a few laughs, could have upset some North Koreans but I'm not convinced we need to be all that precious when it comes to the sensitivities of a dictator. I'm sure the film will "accidentally" leak at some point, even if it doesn't get a commercial release.

What's New for 2015
azza29 replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Keep me posted when you find out if this is a show or ride. Best guess is it'll be some sort of walkthrough attraction, possibly with an aquarium. They have a website with very little information here: seaworld.com.au/animals-rides-and-shows/animals/creatures-from-the-deep.aspx. (I got the name wrong in my first post, should be "Creatures from the Deep".) -
What's New for 2015
azza29 replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sea World Australia have banners up advertising a "Creatures of the Deep" attraction, "coming soon" - presumably towards the end of 2015. -
I remember seeing Natalie and her sister on the Amazing Race a few years ago, and thinking at the time that they were the most annoying contestants on the planet. But I actually admire her game in this season of Survivor, she's made some good, risky plays that have certainly made the show more interesting. Would like to see Keith win, although I doubt he'd have enough votes on the jury.

Adventure City getting new coaster for 2013?
azza29 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great pics, Caesar. Looks likes his will be a decent family coaster once it comes together. -
^I really enjoyed this one. Great cast combined with an excellent book, very amusing, and made even funnier by the reactions of the pensioner next to me who audibly expressed her shock at a number of the costumes. Definitely The Production Company's standout show this year, and up there with Les Mis for the best musical I've seen locally in the last 12 months. I found out today that Dr Zhivago is getting a Broadway run in 2015. Saw this one a couple of years ago when it premiered in Melbourne, very easy to recommend. Well written with some memorable songs, and it was certainly more interesting than the film!

The last new Coaster in your Count

Road Runner Express at SFMM on Sunday. Not the smallest coaster in that park, at least... -
The B&M Rattle Directory
azza29 replied to GwaziBSRider1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree on Vortex, but Hair Raiser was quite rough when I rode it in June. I gave it a few chances by riding at different times of day, sadly without success. It's a shame because the location is spectacular! Agree. I've found that in general the inverts seem to hold up better - for example Montu ran really well on my last visit to BGT, but Kumba was pretty bouncy. Ditto with Dueling Dragons compared to Hulk.
