  2. Understandable. Although that picture is blurry, so it's hard to tell. I think I do see the station in that picture, but again, it's hard to tell.
  3. So it looks like Maggie Brown's is getting an upgrade/slight name change, and will start serving BBQ. From CGA's Facebook: Should be rather interesting.
  4. I believe according to one of the concept plans here, it looks like Delta Flyer/Eagle's Flight is here to stay (for now) The station building is located somewhere in the middle of this map
  5. I'm not surprised by this either. It was one of my least favorite rides, most of the effects barely work nowadays and you can't ride it unless you're carrying absolutely nothing (they don't have any special place to store your stuff). If I were to guess (coming from the recent expansion presentation and the ride's location), they might either use the space for the hyper coaster, or IMO, they could use that space (plus the space in between ME and Patriot) for the launched coaster that was in the plans, and maybe call it Tidal Wave as a throwback to the original coaster was in that same spot.
  6. Tony Rosato died of a heart attack at 62 today. Everyone who's been on YouTube should know him best as Mama Luigi from the Super Mario World cartoon. I guess I'm glad one of the episodes in my animation project is a tribute to that particular episode.
  7. I have heard from a few sources that New Earth was supposed to be a connecting bridge between ME3 and Andromeda, and there were a few ads for it being played on the queue TVs. It would be an interesting idea to do something based around the new game. I mean Star Tours did add new scenes when TFA released in 2015. So I could see CF/EA do something similar to promote Andromeda. Probably. I mean I remember back in 2006 (the last year the other side was open) during one of my trips to the park, they didn't have enough staff to have the other side open.
  8. If I were to guess (especially from what my friend told me), the reason they probably didn't do randomized ride sequences was because it would give the actors a hard time to know which script to go off of (unlike ST where everything's already programmed in). However, the Mass Effect series was known for its branching storylines, so why wouldn't there be different ride experiences? The only variation there is comes from the live actors and the improvisations they give. I remember hearing that they were interested in adding more experiences to the ride (I could totally see them doing a "Holiday Getaway" version for next WinterFest), so refurbishing and reopening the unused theater would be a total benefit both content wise and capacity wise. I mean if the ride's theme is based around a space travel agency, why not have the other side serve as a gate to a spaceship travelling to somewhere else in the ME universe?
  9. I'd hope so. It'd be a shame if the opening was delayed just like what happened with Gold Striker and Mass Effect. I have faith that Patriot will be completed by opening day. I was thinking about heading to the park during Spring Break as well
  10. I know I'd love to see them do something with the unused side of the Action Theater (I believe at the moment, they were using it for storage plus as the Haunt makeup department). If I had to guess, they'll either make a clone of the Plants vs Zombies ride at Carowinds, use a different EA IP, or do something original (personally I think they should do a clone of Mass Effect on the other side but have it go to a different location instead of Terra Nova). Though I agree, if they make it a dark ride, they should use the old Pictorium building, since they don't do much with it other than have it be part of a Haunt maze. I'm more towards having a dark ride than using the other side of the Action Theater for an interactive 4D attraction. I think it has more potential, plus there aren't that many NorCal parks that have a dark ride (only one I can think of is SCBB).
  11. This is a bit different from what was on that page. That was just the master plan, this is more of a presentation by the park to the city of Santa Clara, which seems to have a bit more detail on what they plan to add in the park.
  12. I saw a more full version of it on Facebook (not sure how much the reddit version had) which detailed a bit more about what they plan for the park's future including the waterpark and entertainment district:
  13. I could imagine they'll probably go year round once the new entertainment district in the expansion plans is built.
  14. Just returned from from WinterFest. I thought it was a pretty interesting event. Though I found a couple of flaws with it. I dunno if it was just me, but the event felt pretty short. Those five hours felt like they went by quickly, and my brain felt it was on rush mode. And even though thst only about 2/3 of the park was open, I still think they should've had a few more rides open (especially Mass Effect). I was surprised how packed the park was (it might have been from how much of the park was open), especially with the lines to get on the rides and into the ice show. I was planning on doing the ice skating, but I didn't realize it was a reservation based thing until it was too late. But that didn't matter as I got my fix of Gold Striker and Flight Deck (both of which were running very smoothly), and I enjoyed the shows and atmosphere. To me, it almost felt like I stepped back in time to CGA's heydays. The place seemed very festive and merry, and it seemed to put a smile on my face. All in all, I think WinterFest was a pretty good event. I would love to see how CGA can expand upon it for next year. And at least I only have to wait three more months until next season. Already the front gate started to create more interest in this event for me I think it could've been me, but it looked like there was a door opened within the old IMAX building Before the Tree Lighting Ceremony After the Tree Lighting Ceremony I have good faith in Patriot. I really hope it'll be way better than Vortex. And speaking of... Got an up close view of Patriot while in the Reindeer Roundup area The reindeer look like their ready for WinterFest to end I dunno why, but I kinda like the way this picture ended up Tidal Wave/Greezed Lightnin remaints! I still think that they should've done a holiday overlay for this ride. Maybe next season? North Pole/Star Tower + Gold Striker I liked the way they used the lights in this area (and the rest of the park) Views from North Pole/Star Tower Ended the night with the Snoopy ice show. WinterFest ended up being a pretty good event. Can't wait for next season!
  15. I'm going on the 30th (the last day), since my brother and his friends are going to see a Sharks game. Dunno how crowded it'll be, but you can never be too sure.
  16. I only have one thing to say about this: Still shocked that this happened. My mom got to meet her a long time ago.
  17. So, I'm possibly visiting WinterFest sometime after Christmas. Given that Christmas will be over it might not be as crowded (but I can never be too sure). Now I've been to the park multiple times, but what would be the most recommended things to do/shows to see? I know I'm gonna try doing the ice skating in front of the carousel.
  18. Before Patriot was announced, I was guessing that they'd eventually demolish Vortex and place a hyper in that spot plus the Invertigarden (and possibly Firefall). Looking at the aerial map of the park, two possible guesses to where it could go would either be by the Flight Deck pond area, or between GS and Demon (given they would probably remove Whitewater Falls).
  19. Cargo shorts are my go to clothing when it comes to theme parks. I always wear them no matter which park I visit.
  20. If I had to guess, I would believe that this new swing ride would replace Delirium.
  21. I won a raffle by pure coincidental luck, and I don't even remember how I entered! Unless I was drunk and put my name in the Goblet of Fire or something. But anyway, I won a free commission by a really great artist!
  22. The simple necessities I need for my theme park visits are a phone, wallet, glasses case (I wear glasses), and a bag to carry things.
  23. Not sure if I'm planning to go to any of the SoCal parks this summer (I do want to visit either SFMM or KBF), but I do wanna take my best friend to CGA since she is a huge Mass Effect fan and wants to ride New Earth.
  24. CGA: 1. Gold Striker 2. Flight Deck 3. Psycho Mouse 4. Demon 5. Grizzly 6. Woodstock Express 7. Crabbie Cabbies 8. Vortex (the rating might change when it becomes Patriot next year)
