  1. I went to Hansa Park yesterday with the CoasterClub Denmark, and finished the day with ERT on Kärnan for half an hour. We also had a small presentation from the parks CEO, and he told us that they are able to turn off the reverse drop in the main season, and they concidered doing it. He also told us that Gerstlauer still runs a couple of tests on the reverse drop, and that they were hoping to improve it during the next year. Also, the theming on this ride is going to expand a lot through the next years. That lifthill is really terrifying, and just as @wrebbit, I really got scared for the first time in a long while, riding a rollercoaster. I can just imagine how amazing that lifthill can be, with the right amount of theming inside the castle. The drop after the reverse drop, may be the most intense I've ever tried. Because of the comfortable T-bars around your waiste, you feel like you are flying out of the train. The element right after the first drop can be a little rough to you, and the next turn aswell, but from then on you just fly through what feels like half of the park. You also get two nice high speed airtime hills, and a small surprise after the brakerun. This is a really intense coaster, with alot of potential!
  2. That does not sound promising! :/ Reminds me a little about some of the situations Bakken had, when they wanted to install a new coaster. Rumors said they were going to build a decent launched coaster in the logflume area, but the plans were cancelled because of almoust the same issues as Kolmården now are having. Why can't they just let us have some awesome coasters out in the woods!!?! :'(
  3. This area looks sweet! Nice amount of details, and the selection of rides looks decent. What about the Wildfire plans, anyone know anything about the issues? Are we going to see Wildfire running in 2016? (If there is a god, we will!)
  4. Den Vilde Hønsejagt @ Djurs Sommerland
  5. Sweden is definitely the cheapest of the three countries, and Gothenburg is a lovely city. But so is Copenhagen, and I agree with several others, you gotta go to Fårup and Djurs Sommerland. Really great parks! Maybe you could consider one day in Aarhus, the secondmost populated city in Denmark. It's about an hour from Djurs Sommerland, and 2-3 hours away from Fårup. There's also a 2-3 hour train connection to Copenhagen from there. And the suggestion about taking a daytrip from Copenhagen to Gothenburg is good, I did it last spring (slept one night at a cheap hotel in Gothenburg and went home next morning), and it was around 4 hours before I reached Copenhagen. If you have to choose between Bakken and Tivoli Gardens, I'd definitely say you should go for Tivoli. It's a wonderful park, right in the middle of the city, and right next to the central station of Copenhagen. Bakken is a half hour away from the central station, so it's pretty close, and the selection of rides there is decent, but the atmosphear in Tivoli is just amazing, and when it gets dark, the park just shines even more. Good luck on your trip, hope you'll enjoy Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia
  6. Great update, and amazing stories through the entire TR! Keep up the entertaining work. I can't wait to go back to Djurs, hopefully this summer. With their new kiddie area, the park will add another level to a great selection of family rides. You're right about the Fårup Sommerland flume, it's the exact same layout, but the one at BonBonLand is a smaller layout with only two drops, kinda figure-eight layout
  7. Great TR and nice pics! I really enjoyed this park when I visited in 2003 (it's been a while though!) Looks like they've made some great additions, and maintained all of their funky rides. My favourite was also Valhalla, greatest darkride/waterride experience ever. You won't get wet - You'll get SOAKED!
  8. This looks so amazing! Congrats to our beloved neighbours in Sweden, och grattis med berg och dalbanarne! I thought we had the advantage here in Denmark with Piraten, Juvelen and Orkanen, but it seems like Sweden once again has got the upper hand with Helix and now Wildfire! Can't wait to ride Helix in May, and I can't wait for this coaster in 2016!
  9. I've heard several girls talking about tickling and orgasmic experiences during a ride on Klaptorsken, the swinging ship in BonBonLand. Especially if they were located in the back/front seat. Don't know if that's too bizarre for an American television show
  10. I've had the same thoughts _koppen, for several years! It's a great expansion for the park IMO, and of course Djurs will make this entire area very beautiful! They are becoming the Europa Park of Scandinavia (Scandinavia Park perhaps? ) Today they announced that they'll add another ride for the area next year. From what they said in the press announcement I'm pretty sure it's a Kid Power Tower like the ones they have in Legoland (And Tivoli aswell) I don't know if they wanna repaint or even retheme Thors Hammer, but my guess is that they won't. They might expand the theming of the ride, to make it fit in with the entire area, but that might be it
  11. Nice TR! I really can't wait to get back to Djurs, I'm going there in two weeks, I'll try to get some more shots of Juvelen. Looks like, as you mentioned, some of the greenery really starts to kick in. And I agree with the launch-roof addition: they have to make that look better, it really doesn't fit in! But I'm sure they'll find a way to make it look more Juvelen-alike I really think Djurs (And Fårup aswell) is heading the right direction, and I can't wait to see how the future looks for these great parks
  12. CoasterClub Denmark just added this great POV of Orkanen on the opening day. Can't wait to ride this bad boy, I've heard it should be pretty high speed and very smooth!
  13. And FreeFaller, you might think of the word Jubel (jubelen) which means cheering
  14. Juvelen means The Jewel in danish And boy do this ride look awesome! Can't wait to ride this one, and as many of you says, in some years this ride will look awesome with the jungle trees everywhere! I still think this ride needs a lot more theming, but I'm 100 % sure it will look sweet in a year or two
  15. The greatest coaster we have here in Denmark, without any doubt. I love the way they themed the entire pirate area, and I can't wait for their new Intamin Europe's first double launch coaster to open (omfg, it's two weeks from now!). I don't think Juvelen will be a better ride than Piraten, but I think it might surprise a lot - just as Piraten did in 2008.
  16. Yes exactly, it's Victor, the Water Worm And yes, if it came to America, it definitely would be named Batman: The Water Ride! The latest couple of years, BonBonLand has really lacked with their theming and styling of the rides, and that's really a shame. The Water Worm, their huge Frisbee and a couple of other new rides really doesn't have any theme at all, and that was IMHO the only thing that made BonBonLand special and basically made it "something". I miss the awesome BonBon theming, or "bizarre" theming as you americans call it !
  17. Robb, you asked what Viktor Vandorm actually means, let me explain to you As far as I'm concerned it's a fictional animal (a Vandorm) which directly translated from danish means a water (vand) worm (orm), and Viktor is a common danish name
  18. I'd really love if you were able to design and create your own themed objects in the game, in some way. So that you could import original theming from an amusement park and re-create your favourite rides. I know its a tough one to manage, but if you could make it simple and efficient, it would be friggin' awesome!
  19. Pleasant surprise: Muntanya Russa at Tibidabo. I looked it up and saw it was a brand new Vekoma ride, so my expectations were low. But the ride turned out smooth, and the setting and overview you get from the top of the lifthill is just amazing. You can see all of Barcelona in the horizon, while running a smooth and actually pretty intense Vekoma ride. I'd recommend it to everyone Unpleasant surprise: Tornado at Bakken. The OTSRs combined with a launched lifthill and a spinning train just makes this ride way to rough on you. I've hurt my neck and shoulders several times on this coaster, and it's such a shame that Intamin didn't do this spinning coaster with lap-bars, just like Gerstlauer does. It would have done a lot of great things to this nice project. Desert Race at Heide-Park. This is the same issue - the OTSRs on the launched Intamin coaster, that almost has the same layout as Rita, just kills you through high speed. And the layout is really bad imo. I miss a lot of intensity in these rides. The only thrill you get from this ride is the launch.
  20. Hehe okay then, it would also surprise me if Tivoli already had announced their 2014 attraction. But do we know for sure that its a Gerstlauer project?
  21. SharkTums: where is it announced, and is it for good? :O
  22. The kiddie-aeroplane ride is actually not a new ride for the park, it is a former ride in a new setting, shined up and re-themed. But boy do I look forward to the next two years in Scandinavia. Just read rumors at the coastersandmore.de site which said that Gerstlauer were to build a family LSM launched coaster in Tivoli next year. Anybody heard of that rumor? It was compared to Vilda-Musan in Grönalund, imho they should get something a little more kick-ass with an inversion or two
  23. I agree with most of you guys, this is a perfect addition to the park, can't wait to go there next year! Have any of you heard any rumors from Djurs Sommerland aswell? They've announced that they were to build the biggest attraction in Denmark 2013, so I assume that they will beat Fårup Sommerland with their new ride, but we still haven't heard anything. Seems like Denmark is taking over the rollercoaster Scandinavia ! Good for me and the rest of the coasterfanatics here in DK!
