  1. ^ Makes me wonder if they will be changed at all during the rehab.
  2. The other sad thing is Cedar Point (the park SFMM get's compared to most) get's it, and it is really working for them. Higher attendance and more liked by just about everyone. Not to mention a few amazing star attractions that SFMM just can't quite light a candle too. X2 and Tatsu are nice, but Maverick and a few other CP coasters just blow them away.
  3. ^ Sorry I meant full circuit coasters. Did not think about that loop hole at all.
  4. ^ I don't know any other park that has built a coaster with three launches that has a length under 2000 ft. Full Throttle may barely pass 2000 ft. but surely not by much.
  5. At this point they mine as well rename the park "Six Flags Gimmick Mountain" and use the marketing slogan "more gimmicks, more fun".
  6. Not only is the ride rough but half neutered thanks to that MCBR that used to be barely used at all.
  7. ^ The problem is a coaster shouldn't only be good in two seats or the first car.
  8. ^ I think I read somewhere that it will be using PU wheels to appease the neighbors. I can't remember where though so I can't post a link to the article. It would be really cool to have a tunnel on one of the bunny hills.
  9. ^ I don't know how much painting a roller coaster costs but I bet it adds up after a while.
  10. I wonder how it would rank compared to today's wooden monsters. Hopefully this ride get's the TLC it deserves so that I can get an answer to that question.
  11. I never got a chance to ride Ghostrider when it was new and really good. For those of you who have rode it back in the day when it was good, how good was it actually? I mean was it like a top ten woodie or was it just good and top 50 or something like that. Just asking because I'm wondering how much better the ride would be with a re-track and possibly some new trains.
  12. I think a family launch coaster could be a great fit for the park. I also think an S&S El Loco would be cool in Inverti-Garden or somewhere else in the park but I know that it is just wishful thinking.
  13. I think the Windseeker in Inverti-Garden could happen depending on if the current problems plaguing the rides can be fixed.
  14. I guess if I had to choose it would be Dejavu at SFMM. I was so surprised by this ride as I was just expecting it to feel like a boomerang and it was so much better. Edit: I know it isn't defunct as it is now operating at SFNE.
  15. ^ Those are great photos. I really like the two that show the current progress versus the ride before demolition. Thanks for linking those.
  16. ^^^ I have to agree with just about everything you said. I also like Silver Bullet a lot despite it's flaws. I might just have to make a trip of my own in a little while to see how the construction is going.
  17. Thank you. And thanks for the report XYZ. How many cars does a wild mouse usually run? I've been on a few but I really never payed attention to how many cars were running at the time.
  18. Was wondering if anyone has any pictures on how PP's site currently looks and if any new progress has been made on preparing the site for the 2013 additions.
  19. ^ I really, really doubt they would spend money on making an area look nice to only make it look like crap the next year or two. I mean at least with Silver Bullet the lake was just there and then they ruined it. This would be spending money on something to make it look good and then only ruining it later which seems completely pointless but sadly seems within the realm of possibility...
  20. I wanna keep this short as everything I am saying has been said many, many times which is why reading a post like this is so frustrating. If Knott's wants to put a giga in their park they will find a way to fit it. Heck if you mirror Leviathan's layout and build the station in KOD's current location you could fit one in. Knott's is landlocked but they still have plenty of ways they could fit a giga into their park without completely wrecking the park environment.
  21. I think this addition really completes or adds needed depth to the family ride side of the park. Hopefully if this works out for the park they can then focus on other needed things like a Ghostrider rehab, dark ride, new thrill ride to replace screamin swing, ect...
  22. ^ The one interesting part though is how a normal large park model is 1312 ft. long and Knott's will be 1399ft. long which makes me think that it will have a slightly altered layout to allow it to fit into it's spot in the park. This would mean that it would most likely not be a relocation.
  23. ^ That is true. I will be interested to see how Full Throttle's themed area turns out or if they just rename High Sierra to Full Throttle plaza or something of that nature without changing much of anything in the area.
  24. This makes great sense to me. I guess I should say in my opinion it is more exciting that Knott's is getting a good flat ride and a good family coaster which are things that the park really needs as opposed to SFMM getting another gimmicky ride with bad capacity that can be argued to be a horrible use of space which is something the park has quite a few of already and could easily get by without. Note: I don't count the Scrambler for KBF as a new ride as it's been there for so long, just not continuously.
  25. ^ Normally I would agree with you on the theming but just the fact that Knott's is keeping the splash pool and looks to be adding some boardwalk looking path I have to say they are doing a decent job with the boardwalk theme if they keep to the concept art.
