I'm not sure KK will ever see a 200' coaster because of height restrictions, but I don't know how the restrictions breakdown by areas of the park. KK is in a unique situation with where they are situated, but many of my favorite coasters are shorter than 200' tall. I think they can carve a market out of making fun, smaller rides like LR. And they really don't need to build tall. Look at all the really great parks that don't have anything over 200 ft. Dollywood and Holiday World both haven't built that high, and their rides are fantastic. It may require some creativity, but the height restrictions aren't that limiting really.

That's a Vekoma. -
Not to sound rude, but HW Isn't the little park in Indiana that you speak of. It's a large park. The waterpark alone is larger than most single entry waterparks in the world. And most of those waterparks would love to have the collection of slides that HW has been accumulating over the years. I must say, it does have a little park feel. When my family is there, I can't help but feel that we have been invited over to a friends house for a fun day of splashing in their pool, and swinging on their swings in the backyard. Only difference being that Holiday World's backyard is filled with a huge waterpark instead of a pool and amusement rides instead of a swing. I feel like part of an extended family when I am there. This is truth.

Actually they have been limiting the amount of people allowed into the loading station this season by cutting off the line at the stairs that cross over the track (the "DUDS" staircase cutoff) and this has really helped with the overcrowding issues in PowderKeg's station. I think ThuNderaTion's is worse as everyone comes up the stairs and just automatically gets in line for the front and then the back rows have no one. Nice, good to know. I haven't been on it since the spring. Every time we've been, it's been a least a little rainy, and Powder Keg has been down. The only way that station works properly is with a grouper.

Or any kind of science at all. In most cases, posting to forums does not rely on science. I realize you're just being rude so please feel free to enlighten us on your opinion of what will happen In general, on this forum I post about what I have done and what I would like to do. When I talk about park futures, it's mostly in the sense of what I would like to happen. I do not post wild, baseless speculation as though it's fact or logical deduction. What I would like Worlds of Fun to do is continue re-tracking Timber Wolf and to get a dark ride. Those are truly the only two areas where is needs improvement.

Could you explain to me why this one is annoying? You do realize that this doesn't hold up the line, right? You are just waiting in the queue area instead of in the station where you are surrounded by people bumping into you and those stations tend to get pretty hot and humid with hundreds of sweaty people standing around. I am one of those people that will wait to go into the station until several rows have a 2-3 train wait. I just find it way more comfortable standing out in the queue area where you can get fresh air versus being crammed in the cattle barn known as the station. Plus waiting to enter the station and letting it clear out a little makes it much easier to get your group on the same train. I'm right there with you for most coasters, but there are a few exceptions. Powder Keg's station, for example, is advantageous to be crowded, because then the longest lines are for the back rows and you can just push past everyone to the inevitable short wait for the front.

Monster is suddenly my most anticipated ride for next year. We had shortlisted a Minnesota-Iowa trip for next year, and I think that list just got shorter. -
This is a great serious and specific idea. What businesses want in a call like that is process improvement. They want to know how they can do what they're doing better. Dissatisfied guests can be revenue impacting. There are many guests who are dissatisfied and never speak up, so listening to you can give them an idea of what others are thinking. If the idea is cheap and easy to implement, and will raise guest satisfaction (and therefore spending!), then they'll do it. Transplanting ideas from the competition sometimes works, but more often it fails, just because each business's culture is a bit different from another's. I've seen that time and again. They need to find a way that works for them.

If you aren't familiar with what went down in 2013 feel free to look it up. Believe me, I don't really want to be "familiar" with anything of that sort at all. But I am aware of what happened, yes. I do believe the relationship is slightly more complex than "two completely separate entities," though it's safe to assume that you won't be seeing any two-park passes.

Ninja will go only once they have a new coaster. Six Flags' MO of late has been not to rebuild immediately in the same spot. Look at what Great America has done. They built X-Flight, then took out Iron Wolf. They built Goliath in Iron Wolf's spot, and took out Ragin' Cajun. By this method they can maintain the coaster count and have some time to build new. Honestly, I think the next ride to leave will be Tidal Wave. I personally love that ride; it's impossible to leave with any part of you still dry. If the ride doesn't get you (and it definitely will), then just stand on the exit queue against the wall and it'll finish the job. But I know the park management is eyeing it for the chopping block, so there you go. So given that, I can see Tidal Wave replaced by a new coaster and Ninja removed. Ninja's spot could be reworked into any number of things, including a Super Loop. Heck, with how low to the ground River King Mine Train is, it could even be the spot for a giga that goes right over RKMT and down into the valley to the east. But....

Big Surprises on Coasters

Outlaw Run's sideways airtime wins this thread. -
Superman and Xcalbur have been down for maintenance quite a bit lately. Also, eating in 15 minutes is extremely unlikely; I'd allot at least 30 if you eat at an off-peak time. For the dining pass, Lunch ends at 3:30 and dinner doesn't begin until 4:30, so in my experience that hour is the shortest food lines of the day. I will also echo that American Thunder is on your definitely want to do list. The only list Ninja and Boomerang should be on is a list of concussions you wish to have. Skip those two and ride American Thunder instead.

Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In about 8 weeks I'll have been on all of them. It's sort of hard for me to rank them all, but if I had to it would look something like this: 1. New Texas Giant - Six Flags Over Texas 1. Outlaw Run - Silver Dollar City 1. Medusa - Six Flags Mexico 1. Wicked Cyclone - Six Flags New England 2. Iron Rattler - Six Flags Fiesta Texas 3. Goliath - Six Flags Great America TBD - Twisted Colossus - Six Flags Magic Mountain Sorry, I just couldn't not tie those first four for #1! lol And even my least favorite RMC is still better than 95% of the roller coasters in the world! I'll assume NTAG listed first means it's the true #1. The four #1's are listed chronologically! Awesome! Those are the two I've ridden also. Goliath is easily the best coaster at SF Great America, but it's definitely not quite up to the standards of Outlaw Run. Goliath is an excellent roller coaster, but Outlaw Run does things you didn't think were possible. I've ridden Outlaw Run dozens of times over the last three years, and I'm still in awe of sideways airtime. The math was explained somewhere on this site, so it makes sense now how it happens, but wow--it's a truly incredible feeling. Have fun! -

The double helix on Legend (Holiday World). Just awesome. -
Try an Arrow/Vekoma frankenstein looper, ranked 5th worst coaster in the world. Its sentimental to me being my first looper and I still want it torn down. My thoughts exactly. It was my second looper, as my first trip to SFSTL was the year Batman opened, and we rode that one first and Ninja immediately after. Ninja was pretty terrible then, even being only 6 years old, and it's just gotten worse as it's aged. The last couple of years I haven't bothered at all. There are enough good coasters in the park that there's really no need to have such a bad one at all.

I've noticed our park will randomly change policies and change them back if someone complains about it. Last year when they were doing assigned seating on NTaG, I had finally had it (this was after all summer and suffering through badly ride operations). I complained to HR because there was A LOT of people in line very pissed about it. To my shock, HR called ME! The little man! lol The lady was great and I gave her kudos for calling me because she literally asked me what do they need to fix. (I had just returned from my first ever trip to Cedar Point about a week prior mind you) and I said send someone to Cedar Point and watch how they manage lines and ride operations and you'll be on the right track. They have some what listened, but not completely yet lol To be honest, if all you said was "Do what Cedar Point does," that's not very helpful to Six Flags. For one, Cedar Point doesn't have an RMC. Also, as I'm sure you've noticed, Texas weather is slightly different from the Great Lakes. Six Flags over Texas doesn't need to, and in fact cannot, do what Cedar Point does. They can improve operations at their own park, but it will be on their own terms, tailored for the rides, clientele, and weather they have. If you had some serious and specific suggestions, then you should have shared them. Otherwise, it really wasn't worth your time or theirs.
