That's crazy. I just priced out Allegiant over that weekend, and they have SGF-LAS at $160 round trip. This may be one of those itineraries that is cheaper in my direction than in yours. Have fun with KC barbecue! If you only go to one place, make it Char Bar. Stay away from 54th street grill--that's a local chain, and theirs is very fast food style. Worlds of Fun isn't open that weekend anyway.

They also don't offer the Trailblazer pass every day. Attendance is fairly low in April, and they're not in daily operations yet. In years past, during World Fest Trailblazer Pass has only been available on Saturdays, and it hasn't been necessary any other day. The shows are the big draw at this time, and it's not uncommon for all the rides to be walk ons. Even if you're here on a day Trailblazer Pass is offered, I'd definitely wait to gauge lines before buying. And yeah, SGF-LAS is usually pretty cheap. Allegiant?

Trip planning help please! We're thinking of going to LA and staying at the KBF hotel. Our flight would arrive at 8:30 PM on a night when Pacific Park is open until midnight. So I'm wondering how feasible that would be. - How long would it take to get a rental car and drive to Santa Monica Pier? Google says 45 minutes, but I'd like a local perspective, having heard horrible things about LA traffic. - How long would it take to get from Santa Monica Pier to KBF? Again, Google says an hour, but how accurate is that?

Well, technically a cobra roll is two half-loops and two half-corkacrews, so that does add up to a corkscrew and two loops, albeit of the inverting rather than inverted variety. But yeah, without knowing the exact weight of the train, I'm going to say it's less than a megaton (2,200,000,000 pounds). That's approximately equivalent to 500 freight trains or 7 Empire State Buildings.

I'm not sure what kinds of agreements they have, but I imagine their advertisement revenue is tied to attendance. More eyeballs on the adverts is worth more. That's how broadcast ratings work. So they could be making more money from adverts with a higher attendance, even if those guests don't spend more themselves.

Best Six Flags Park

The best Six Flags is Fiesta Texas. That is the correct answer. -

Damn. I didn't know the boat ride was no longer operating. My wife and I went on it several years ago and actually thought it was a nice/fun break from coasters. A break from coasters.........that's cute Most times it's not a sickness/endurance thing. I just don't get much enjoyment out of marathoning a coaster, or going coaster-to-coaster constantly. It becomes monotonous. I agree. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I find great enjoyment at just walking around a good park. I bought the Flash Pass when we went to SF Great America, and I didn't ride any coaster more than 4 times. Most I rode 1 or 2. I got it just to make it a relaxing day where I didn't have to stand in lines for 80% of it. A theme park day should be relaxing. I know I didn't feel that way when I was a teenager; I think I might be starting to grow up. Nah, I'm posting on a roller coaster forum. I'm safe from that for a while. -
Since that's a Wednesday through Friday, crowds should be very manageable. Prepare for about half the shops to be closed and for no shows to be going on. If you're there for rides, you're good! Even the water rides run during Spring Break Ride Days, unless we have a freak late season frost or something. Weekdays aren't usually busy unless it's Springfield's spring break week--that's the city nearest to Branson--and Springfield has their spring break March 7-11. So you're good! Enjoy!

I just hope it encourages Worlds of Fun to do the same thing. Six Flags does have a good amount of rides that could be open, especially Justice League. But the event would not be near the level SDC runs their event (partially because SDC has 3 dark rides, awesome shows, a cave tour, etc. that can be open whenever). Flooded Mine, Fire in the Hole, and what else are you considering a dark ride? I fully support HITP, and said so on their survey last year. No one does Christmas like HFE, except Disney. But SF can do well with this event. Missouri autumns are unpredictable; it can be 40 one day and 70 the next. A couple of years ago one weekend in December was in the 80s. With those temperatures, SF could definitely run all the rides, and if it's cold, run Justice League and the train and serve waffles, and there's a good time.

Mine is 2007 to 2011 due to having kids. Once my oldest was big enough, we introduced her to Silver Dollar City. She's hooked, not so much as a coaster fan, but as a theme park fan. She prefers flat rides and dark rides, but absolutely cannot wait to get back in March. My son has become a big coaster fan. He's 47.5" right now. As soon as he hits 4 ft., we're going to have some fun.

Where Are You Going in 2016?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^If you're going to do 4 Cedar Fair parks, get the Platinum pass. It prices out usually to 3 days or more at a CF park that isn't your home park makes it worth the upgrade from Gold. -

^ This. I was just there last year, and due to the new water slides, I'm trying to figure out a way to get back. All the rides FloydsHeating mentioned are very good, plus Zero G, their Moser drop tower, is probably the best drop tower I've ever been on. If you're going to be in the area, you owe it to yourself to drop by, especially if you've not been before. You can have a really good time at Beech Bend. -

The Eagle of today is NOT the same Eagle as in '76. The Eagle got neutered by adding the banking on the turns, removing the double-down after the swoop turnaround, and reducing the trains from 5 cars to 4. John Allen's original design has been badly modified...GASM at SFOG is closer to what the Eagle was back in '76 than the Eagle of today. Also, whoever decided that the lift chain should slow down BEFORE the train crests the lift hill should be hung from the top of the lift. It greatly reduces the speed through the first turn and nearly stalls the train before the drop. Just my .02 worth. YOMV. I agree completely! Also, kids these days aren't wearing enough polyester--or bell bottom jeans! And they don't listen to eight track tapes OR records. There's no "I" in "tunes," thank you very much. You can hardly find ANYONE who's even heard of American Graffiti, much less seen it! Man, everything was SO much better when Gerald Ford was president.

^ It sounds like they may be moving the Berries & Cream stand to the side of the path rather than being right in the middle of it, and that's a very good thing. A food stand in the middle of the path is going to be noticed, but SDC's biggest need right now is better traffic flow. Any day they have more than about 15,000 is really hard to manoeuvre.

Ridership is low because it is stuck back there by itself. Honestly if you aren't exiting Timber Wolf, you really have no reason to go by it. Now if the Triotech Dark Ride (rumored) gets put in that area, the ridership for the ride might go up significantly. Agreed. Top Spins need to dominate an area. Best placement of one I've seen is King Chaos at SF Great America. It's in a central location along one side of the Mardi Gras plaza and is very visible. Worlds of Fun could make such a plaza back in that area and give people a reason to be there.
