OMG! That's what's in the shed! They finally made a coaster for enthusiasts, you guys--hear me out, this is legit--at the end of Mystic Timbers, you go into the shed to see an RMC truck! Jizz yourself with excitement! It's happening. It's real. It's confirmed. You heard it here first. -

^ Love it! The only excuse one needs for riding a Skyride is that it exists. The only excuse allowed for not riding one is that it's closed. -

On Saturday my wife and daughters went to a wedding shower for my cousin, which meant guys' day out at Silver Dollar City! It was the third weekend for the National Harvest and Cowboy Festival, which is one of the best times to visit. Crowd levels are fairly low this time of year, temperatures are still good (it was in the 70s that day), and most importantly, the crafts are on full display. We arrived a little after noon (no need for strategy this time of year) and ended up staying only about 2 hours. We went first to American Plunge, then to Fire in the Hole. We had intended to go over to Powder Keg next, but at that moment I found out my son was having a sensory sensitive day, because the loud noise of the launch caused him to burst into tears. Normally he loves Powder Keg, but today we were going to need to skip it. We found a quiet spot over by the Fire in the Hole exit for him to calm down. We sat for about half an hour to let him cry it out, and then he asked to go on Thunderation. We didn't try to go on any other loud or intense rides like the train or Outlaw Run. We just kind of wandered at looked at the scenery and crafts for a while and headed out. SDC has cowboyed up! I'm ready for fall! It's my favourite season! SDC doesn't do spooky for Halloween, or even acknowledge that Halloween is a thing. Stop! Banner time! The Square is craftier than ever this time of year. Hand woven baskets. One thing I love about the crafts festival is that SDC encourages all the vendors to work at their booths. This woman is painting right here on the corner. These guys are back! They're blacksmiths based out of Washington, Mo., which is just a bit west of Six Flags St. Louis. Awwww. Who wants to ride a log flume in October? We do! And we're not the only ones, apparently. Choices, choices. We took the blue pill and headed left. This is why you ride log flumes in October. On the way to Fire in the Hole, we took the scenic route. For those wondering, yes, we are actually in the middle of a theme park right now. This was the skillet line at the lumberjack camp. These people are making the correct choice. Over at Thunderation, they had this giant cornucopia. Evan's eyes are a bit red from crying, but a roller coaster is going to make it okay in just a moment. We didn't stay long enough for Echo Hollow to open, so this is the closest I could get to the construction. It's a giant area, and all of it is behind Echo Hollow and Thunderation. Our lovely stick family. I'm starting to think these are just put here to mess with us, and the coaster won't actually be in this spot at all. All the excavation is well back from here.

When I went to DCA, Hollywoodland felt like a filler area. I spent about the same amount of time in Carsland but that's because of Cozy Cone. After The Hollywoodland area, I'd like to see them fix up Grizzly Peak. Okay, what needs to be fixed up in Grizzly Peak? It didn't look run down in the slightest to me. It looked practically brand new. Oh, ya? You mean, like when they did this? Nice! That would explain why it looked practically brand new.

^^ Oh yes? Well, I know what I'm doing with the rest of my night. Awesome! EDIT: Okay, I see. That was the Balloon Race in the photo, not the Paratroopers. That was what was throwing me off. -
Did someone say "someone new to the park"? Well, that was me a few weeks ago, and I thought the Hollywood Studios section looked pretty fun. The false backdrop at the end of the street was very cool, and the Monsters and Tower of Terror rides were great. So maybe I'm a bit naive, but as someone new to the park, I didn't find anything to complain about in that section, and in fact, I spent more time there than in Cars Land. Maybe it was just because it was the first part I saw of the first Disney park I've been to, but it was pretty special.

Got it. That Oasis is #16, so the Pierogis are #8 or #25, not sure yet, but I've got the general idea. Thanks so much! -

Thanks for your help! Okay, I see Paratroopers (#55) and Giant Wheel (#28) on the map, but I don’t see Power Surge. -

Expect to leave with a new favorite park and possibly diabetes. As far as lines it will be very manageable. Have a great time! Also, take note of the handy dandy Pierogie map I'm really looking forward to Knoebels next summer. I adore Polish food, and the Pierogis are a big deal to me. I'm having some trouble placing this photo in the park, though. I'm trying to compare it to Knoebels' official map on their site, and it doesn't seem to line up with anything I can see. Where in the park is this? -

I agree and in my opinion this RMC will officially give CP the best coaster collection on the planet!!! I know some already feel that way about CP but this RMC will do it for me!!! Yeah, I hate to say best on the planet, since I haven't ridden a single coaster outside the US, but Cedar Point's lineup is tremendous. I've been to several parks with a similar number of coasters (SFMM, SFGAm, KI), and I'd say CP's lineup is far deeper than any of those. My tenth favourite coaster at CP was awesome, and I really couldn't say that about any of those other parks. So I'll let those with more experience judge, but it seems to me that CP does really have one of the best coaster collections anywhere. -

I also have not been on Lightning Rod yet, but in every RMC I have been on, this has held true. Ride in the front row of any car; the back rows sit on the wheels and are noticeably rougher. -

^ I would not be disappointed. Their current lineup is pretty tough to beat, but I would love to ride the coaster that does it! -

Agreed. Man, Twisted Colossus kicks the A$$ of every other ride there. Not only kicks the A$$ of every other ride there it will also try to eject your A$$ and robb you of all your belongings During WCB it tried to steal my wallet and my cell phone out of my cargo pockets it couldn't get those so it ripped my WCB lanyard right off my neck on the green side high five and just my luck I had attached my car key to it had to pay $250 to have someone come out and make me a new key on the spot and yes I still love you Twisted Colossus you damn villain lol And to bring it back to the subject of this thread, one of the most exciting prospects for me is that RMC Mean Streak might not even be the best ride there. Everywhere else the RMC is leaps above the other rides, but with Cedar Point, I would expect it would fit comfortably among Millennium Force, Magnum, Maverick, and Raptor. An average coaster at CP would be the star of most other parks. -

Fast Lane Plus nullified your question a few years ago! I think Maverick will be the same deal, perhaps a bit longer, but it's not like it's currently some well-kept secret in the back in the park -- it's often 45+ min as-is. Expect lines. If anything, I anticipate the Valravn popularity surge settling like Gatekeeper did after two seasons, and that the crowd will remain focused on each of the big three Intamins, + the new hotness Mean Streak. Wow. Mean Streak and Hotness. Two things i never thought i would see in the same paragraph, let alone sentence. (Except the fire ) Well, the way RMC does conversions, we might see a fire! Too soon? -
