Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Internet was the thing that made it popular. I mean, there were those millions of people who bought the book in 1977 and made it Stephen King's first bestseller, and also those millions of people who went to see the 1980 movie by the acclaimed director of Doctor Zhivago and 2001: A Space Odyssey, both of which were on AFI's list of the 100 best movies of the twentieth century--but you're right, it was definitely some people on the Internet twenty years later.

Love the photos! Brews and BBQ is maybe one of my favourite festivals of any theme park. The fact that you can watch Maverick while participating may have something to do with it.... Yeah, weather in the Midwest, fickle at any time, is especially volatile in the late spring...so right now. Last year Coastermania! was day 3 of a five-day trip, and it was literally the only day of that trip that didn't have any rain. Hoping it works out well for you! With multiple days (3, right?), you're almost guaranteed one of them will be great weather, and the other two won't. That's the Midwest for you. -
What Was the Last Beer You Drank?

There's way too much, even if you just get one sample size of things you're wanting to try. I like IPAs, porters, and imperials best, and even just trying those styles, and getting one sample size each, I went through maybe a quarter of the offerings within those styles, not to mention all the other styles there. If you're a "sample a little of many different things" like me, you can have a great time there. Oh, and Shock Top Belgian White last night. -
It's a 3D Sally shooting dark ride, so if you've been on one of those, you have a good starting point of what to expect. The queue sets up the story, in which all the members of thr Justice league have gone missing except Cyborg. Cyborg entreats you the rider to help locate them. When you enter the station, you'll see a giant animatronic Cyborg that is seriously impressive. You'll be given 3D glasses, then take your place in the vehicle, which has 2 rows of 3 seats. The ride itself is a mixture of 3D and physical sets, with a couple great animatronics. I won't spoil any of the ride itself here; there are plenty of onride videos if you're interested. The queue is frequently an hour or more, and since Great Adventure is a much better attended park, I would prepare for very long lines at least through its first season.

That's great! We went last year and had zero complaints about food and beer selections. To hear they're amping it up is pretty exciting. -
What is your next park?

Just curious, when are you going?? Memorial Day weekend. -
I work in accounts payable for a travel company. Basically when you give my company money for a reservation, I make sure that money goes on to the people providing the services you've booked. It's not glamourous, but the pay's decent, and discounted travel as a fringe benefit is awesome, especially in this hobby.

Mega coaster trip 2017 help.

I think this is a much saner, more doable trip, and will be a lot more fun for your family. I'm scratching my head at the Georgia leg though, as that's completely in a different direction. I get that you'll want to do something between Ohio and Texas, but more directly on the way would be Magic Springs or Beech Bend. If you've been to Magic Springs before, then you don't need to go back. Beech Bend has the new SBF Visa spinner and last year's new waterslide complex with the saucer slide. It's a fun place to spend a couple of hours. -

DOLLYWOOD! (Yeah, basically what DoinItfortheFame said) -
Yes! Another great trip report. My reaction while reading the maze bit: Oh, cool, they have a maze. Is it really big or something? No, he's sh*tting us. That's a lot of explanation. Surely he's sh*tting us. Ha! Hahahhahahhahahahahahahha! I will have to do this maze. Don't worry, I'll have the wristband.
