If I can be open and honest here, we went a few weeks ago and walked up to El Toro with nothing visible and just said "I have nothing in my pockets" and walked right past the 16 year old working the front of the queue... its not like they are doing pat downs, if you know (as a seasoned coaster enthusiast I would assume you do) that things in your pockets are going to stay in your pockets (zippers for instance) than you can just walk on though... don't be an ass and whip out your phone on the ride, you know not to do that...

The best is how when you get to the station they always announce "back rows are wide open, fill in the station we have open seats in the back of the train"

Went to the park today for the first time this season. Showed up just as they opened the gates to the parking lot and were the fourth people into the park. Good to know for others **parking lot opens at 9:30, parking booths open 9:45, security opens 10, gates 10:20** Two rides on El Toro (second to last row and the. Second row). Thing was hauling ass even in the morning rain. Glad to start off 2017 on a good note. Headed over to Bizzaro and got a ride on row two with no wait. Rid is doing great and the staff was super quick as mentioned above. Did the safari and had a great tour guide who crushed the tour with great jokes and facts. All the animals were out and about and they driver did a great job at giving us some moments to just sit back and watch the animals. New borns are overwhelmingly adorable across the whole safari. Headed over to Nitro and had a 15 min break. Man is that thing hauling ass right now. Amazing floater though all the hills. So good!! On our way over the MASSES were walking in the park so after Nitro we walked over to Ka and saw a 45 min wait so we decided to call it a day and head back home (stopping at Sorentos for a hero of course!) Overall a great day and looking forward to a great season of thrills ahead!

could it be a lift hill start, then a launched second half? Kind of Colossus meets Maverick meets LR?

You should be fine, there is a possibility of a physics day, but post 3 or 4 pm the park should be dead and reprises galore!

Hey everyone, Planning a trip to Chicago at the end of June. What public transportation choices do we have from Downtown Chicago? also, is Uber a viable choice? I have a Gold Season Pass to SFGAdv so I may look into ZipCar as well... Any guidance is appreciated!

I disagree... I think that with its far turn (remember the original turn was about 120-degrees) and it being at the fastest part of the ride (bottom of the first drop or a 200+ft drop) it don't think we would see anything more wonky in the track design! Either way, super excited to come ride it next summer!

yup, flip the switch your done. its just like a light bulb. remove the trains from the track, they completely disassemble the trains and look for stress cracks and such and rebuild them, I'm sure there is a more detailed inspection of the track than the weekly usual...

At the park now, slightly windy but everything is running! In line for wicked cyclone the person behind me wanted his friends to know that " if you sit in the front row you will get unadulterated views". Smh some people should have their college degree is taken away from them...

I always felt like the last turn of Hydra at Dorney Park should have done down to the water like Hercules did back in the day... Lost opportunity by B&M in my opinion.

It is a great ride, and it's actually fast loading than I expected. SFNE won't get one though, it's too close by. Same reason why we won't see one at SFOT. I do agree that they need another super high capacity coaster, but the flats are the direction they need to go in...

Let's be serious for a moment... It's not going to be a GCI reprofile... At least not like legend or ghost rider.... Both of those were announced as that being what's going on... This is talking about mean streak getting the axe, not getting reprofile.

Although I would rather see the RMC conversion I think the GCI version is more expected after the KBF project... Sad though, really a missed opportunity...

I agree! I always felt like naming Kingda KA "The Flash" instead was a real opportunity wasted... Plus a giant yellow track with red supports would have been a much cooler looking ride rather than the green/blue they went with.

Gotcha. Bummer, oh well next time! I'm surprised by the amount of security guards today! They seem to be all over the park especially in the coaster lines. It's nice to see they are keeping everyone safe and stopping the line cutters, but I never remember seeing this many. Maybe it's because I usually come in the slower portions of the season. Overall it's a nice afternoon in the park! Finally did the safari today, what a great way to spend an hour!

At the park. KA has been closed all day, we saw one train go over the hill and then nothing else all day. I wonder if it was due to the storms earlier in the week and they're opening it up tomorrow. (That's just speculation)

Happy to see work, but when I think Gotham I don't really think brightly colored taco stands lol! Going to the park tomorrow afternoon-evening, anyone else going to be there?
