  1. Drunk Piers is always amazing. Loved the 'more friendly stupid people' warning at the beginning of the video. Can't wait until someone still complains about the language The park looks like a lot of fun, and in a great setting! Awesome update!
  2. There could be long lines if they are changing out the Deja Vu cable for a chain. I checked the Valencia and Santa Clarita events calendars and didn't see anything going on then. Good luck!
  3. Yay for Piers!!! And Robb and TPR!!! Awesome exposure! Can't wait to ride it in a few days, wish I could've joined all of you!
  4. Awesome report! I didn't realize Coney Island had all that stuff! I was thinking it was a lot more smaller. Definitely looks like a fun park, glad the new company is cleaning it up!
  5. What an awesome event! Seems like you had a lot of fun, and a lot of money went for a great cause! So was the Cake Boss Cake? Are they as good as they look?
  6. Wow, what an amazing story! Congratulations! The report definitely helped me stay on track for my diet!
  7. ^ We had the complete opposite experience for Big Dipper and Hurricane. Hurricane had absolutely no line, and Big Dipper had a line all day! It was a fun park, and there was definitely a lot to do.
  8. They could just put "Incredible Limited Harry Potter Special Event - $700" and i'm sure they would sell out immediately.
  9. Just posted a trip report from our day at SCBB! www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=59978 We decided to skip Gilroy Gardens and just spend most of the day at the boardwalk. Costco had a really good ticket package, so we definitely took advantage of it.
  10. With the Green Lantern opening at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Amy not having any Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk credits, we decided to do a mini-California credit whoring trip! It was originally going to be Amy, and my two nephews (16 & 18), but after about 30 changes, it ended up being Amy, my younger brother Tim and his wife, my niece Morgan (11), and my nephew Brandon (6). We also had my sister and her kids with us for the Santa Cruz day as they live pretty close. Day one was the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, day two was Six Flags Magic Mountain, and day three was the California State Fair! Anyway, on to the pictures! On our way! I really appreciate TPR trips a lot more after doing a trip on our own. The devil hanging out near Santa Cruz. Amy is cold, so she warms up with her Australia TPR trip without Joey purchased jacket! We arrive in Santa Cruz and the train literally goes through the center of the main road! We arrive at the Boardwalk! The ride vehicles for the new haunted house ride. The line was really short in the morning, and really long later on. The left side of the beach. The right side of the beach. Time for the carousel with the throwing ring game! I'm so glad that it is still here even in sue happy California! There are few things in this world better than a fresh corn dog! Mmmmm, delicious. And a small side of nachos. Enjoying the log ride. The 'other' area of the park that has a bunch of fun dark/flat rides. People enjoying the Big Dipper! We had a buy one get one free coupon for the bazooka 'game.' It was actually pretty fun and reminded me of American Gladiators! Double Shots are always good. I guess that makes the ride better. Amy had some awesome hair from the ride. Just a few g-forces on the bounce back up. Amy eats the blue Dippin' Dots that my sister said only kids would ever eat. Three of the kids decided to play laser tag. I bet you can't guess which ones they were This Laughing Sal is a pretty famous character from the old Playland at the Beach in San Francisco. Next up was a free game of miniature golf! You would think with a group of 10, 5 being kids, we would take forever and hold everyone up. But the group ahead of us, 3 people in their 20's, were so slow that all 10 of us had to wait for them the entire time! The theming was pretty good. Lilly was still trying to figure out how the stupid thing worked. If I was stuck in quicksand, I'd want a slushee as well! The whole indoor arcade/golf area was pretty nice. Time for the Hurricane credit! More fun Hurricane faces. The kids like the small flats while they wait for us. A little scared of the drop. Woah there. Amy gets her credit! Morgan and Timmy totally love coasters and will definitely be TPR nerds. Anyone else think those two little girls in the blue 'chair' at the top right are way too young to be riding by themselves!?!? These cavemen/cavewomen have been on this ride forever! Hurricane was a fun little ride. More fun little rides for the kids Wow. I guess Amy sees her as well. Morgan enjoying the swings. The best food of the day! I ate it way too fast to take a picture! Brandon is so happy to be away from his parents and riding rides! We cool down on the log ride! One last ride on the Cyclone before our long drive to beautiful Valencia!
  11. All signed up and paid! Can't wait, it's going to be incredible!!!
  12. ^Is there any way to switch the Knott's day to the 24th? If so, that's the TPR Knott's Haunt Event!!!! Last year the event was incredible and included ERT on some rides, awesome food, front of the line passes, and more! It was worth every cent, and is by far, the best way to visit Knott's for Haunt. What is included in this years event hasn't been announced yet, but even if it only offers 1/2 of what we got last year, it would still be more than worth it!
  13. ^Awesome! So jealous of all the Bag of Crap winners!
  14. Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard and Lion work, as well as Safari on iPad! Works great, I really like it!
  15. Great report! The Joyland poster is one of the best "engrish" signs I've seen
  16. Great report! Loving the captions! I still can't believe how small those chair lift seats were!
  17. I'm totally in for this! Can't wait. Last years event was absolutely incredible!
  18. Awesome and amazing pictures as always! I wish I could have gone, but glad everyone had an incredible time. I'm also glad your a fan of a Disney park now
  19. Haha, John, Amy, and I snuck out to go. I forgot to get rid of the evidence! ^Congratulations on me not being able to anymore! This thread has reminded me that I do need to get in better shape. I'm slowly losing pounds!
  20. Thanks for the comments! I know some people are iffy on Cracker Barrel but I think it's one of the best places around (by far the best coffee shop style restaurant)! It's gift shop has some really cool stuff as well!
  21. X2. The first drop when you roll at the bottom, and the expectation of a lot of pain.
  22. Ok, it's time for another update! Now, there weren't as many food and fatties in this portion of the trip, but it's still a great park with lots to see. This was the first time I've been to this park, but I grew up with California's Great America so it was a really weird experience. So many things were similar, and yet there were also a lot of difference. The ride I looked forward to the most here was the Whizzer! The one in California was my first real coaster, and I haven't ridden it for as long as I can remember. It was really cool to somewhat re-live that. Up next will be the Wisconsin Dells, one of the best places ever for fatties! Anyway, on to the photos! What better way to start of the day than with a Cracker Barrel breakfast! From the parking lot it looks like CGA, but with much bigger rides. Nice Amy picture. Robb leads the pack to ERT!!! Jake has the 'I haven't slept in days' look. Dan uses sign language to show us that we are riding Superman for ERT! The scariest part of the ride is the lift-hill. I can't help but think of what would happen if the restraints popped open. First ride of the day! Jason and Olivier enjoying Superman. TPR superman ERT takeover! Can you guess who didn't use Dial? Over the loop! The GP waiting to get in. This is why it absolutely pays to do the TPR events. And of course the mad mouse is full of TPR credit whores! Oh wait, two more! Who carres about comfort, it's all about spinning! Jack and Jackie took the minimalist approach and ended up spinning a ton! I just love this picture. They even had the Jetson's! Maybe I am in some time warp back to the Great America of the 80's! The Joker masks in the queue weren't anything special, but still better than a vast majority of other SF queues. I don't know what Barry M. Deeper was doing during lunch, but Elissa seems to be a little grossed out. Good old American delicious junk! Next up is one of the best perks of a TPR trip/event, backstage tours! We get some nice views of the coaster. The first drop These were rafts that too many ACEr's were in. A TPR approved, and well traveled, highway. He was late to the bus. That's quite a bit of fog juice they ordered! A bunch of old parts, including an old bucket from the Sky Whirl! There is a ton of junk back here! Krum? Isn't that the dude from Harry Potter? He's much better as fertilizer. I think every broken kitchen apparatus from 100 miles around is right here. Even these bugs seem vaguely familiar from the California days. They also had a graveyard for the trains. Umm, somehow I don't think that is going to be big enough. Iron Wolf is the first B & M, but the cycle times were way too long for me to wait for a picture of the train. Speaking of "wait." We got very up close and personal with Demon! American Eagle looks even better up close! Raging Bull looked great against the blue sky. Noted! Quality folk at SFGA! They must have been having a lot of problems with the employees drag racing the golf carts. More Raging Bull goodness. Ok, I guess that sign is legit. The lift hill looks massive. $1 doesn't seem so expensive now does it? I don't see this anymore now that I use my motion sickness patch! This could have been one of the most incredible air-time hills if it wasn't for the extremely noticeable trims! For Mummy the Ride? Reverse gravity garbage cans are the future. Hey California fans! Remember when our park looked like this! There are people in that station! It was so cool being able to ride this again(for the first time). It is a fun ride. They had a really cool model of the original park. Time for a ride on the Sky Tower and a great view of Superman! The front of the park is almost identical to the California park. But this park doesn't have stupid cry baby residents nearby to complain about the fact that the park was there before they were! The water park has a pretty good collection of slides. This is where California got shafted. Riding Whizzer after all these years was awesome! A lot of good rides, and yes, they do still have Yankee Clipper! I know many people would have loved for me to go into the forbidden area and pulled a "Scream." Nothing says Six Flags quality like duct tape on a seat. I look 'Day 9 of a TPR trip' terrible. And there's no better way to look even more terrible than to eat wonderful junk like Pulled Pork, Cold Stone Ice Cream, Cookies, Brownies, and BBQ Beef! Next up was a quick walkthrough of the water park and a view of the coolest shark mailbox I've ever seen! Amy was trying to set up a great picture of a fatty, but the idiot who doesn't know how to zip up a bag got in the way! Shark! Holy Crap! Something is not right with that dude! A massive play structure. Nope Dan, it is definitely not Dan friendly. These racers looked really good having both tunnels and the racing sections. No comment That is just beyond disgusting. They had some nice sandy areas in the park. Dan is too cool for a stupid pose. This was our review of the park. Dan didn't care because it was water and he's allergic to it, I was disappointed because it closed when we arrived, and Amy liked how many good rides there were. Not a bad looking lazy river. Much better than the one at Indiana Beach! Time for some nachos and waffle fries! Robb is amazed that Dan even owns anything water related like board shorts! One of the rarest pictures for TPR nerds (and a few creepos), Dan enjoying water. Barry M. Deeper always likes to get lubricated with water. Helllooooo Daniel. How's the Chaffing? (inside Joke) Woah, is that even physically possible? Time for Raging Bull ERT!!! I'm sure quite a few people learned the answer to that question during the trip Who's excited for ERT? And whose even more excited for ERT!!!! Stay tuned for an epic fatties day coming up next!
  23. I just finished my workout and I see this update I absolutely love Lobster and it all looks so good!!
  24. It all looks amazing. It's always great when you find some whole in the wall and it turns out being really good!
