  1. ^ It depends, do you get scarred of heights from being up there a few seconds just because you are looking down or is it that you only get afraid when you are there for awhile? If it is the first, close your eyes on the drop of Kingda Ka and I think you will be ok. If it is the second, you will be fine but don't go on the parachute tower, Ferris wheel, or Skyscreamer.
  2. For steel Bizzaro at SFNE followed by Magnum XL 200 for their air time and for wood, it's a tie between El Toro at SFGADV and The Voyage (El Toro for air time and The Voyage for air time and that out of control feeling it gives).
  3. ^ Runnaway Mine Train was not the first tubular steel coaster, that was the Matterhorn Bobsled at Disneyland. But Runnaway mine train was the first coaster designed by Ron Toomer.
  4. Could anyone post a picture of the boats with the seats cause I don't see how a seat belt can be worse then a OTSR.
  5. My worst line I waited in was for El Toro at SFGADV in its opening year since a TON of people were line jumping and the Flash Pass person was letting like maybe 30 or so Flash Pass people ahead of the regular line UGH! I'm so happy that most of that crap is now gone at Six Flags parks. A close second would be when I waited in line for Le Cobra at La Ronde, they were running 1 train and dispatching trains at about 4 mins. Also the line had no shade was what was a hour felt like 3!
  6. I do think it is going to have the B&M roar since Cedar Point has no noise restrictions out on the peninsula. So basically why spend money to quiet something that doesn't need to be.
  7. ^^ Alton Towers is put to more shame. http://porsmond.bravepages.com/Alton/Alton11/Alton.html
  8. Although it never opened, I think Orphan Rocker is another coaster that has a odd layout, those transitions look painful. http://www.coastergallery.com/2009T/scenicworld.html Also Vertigo that used to be at Walibi Belgium is just an odd coaster all around. http://www.rcdb.com/3457.htm?p=0
  9. Now I wouldn't count the 4D coasters in with Wing Riders because 4D coasters seats start out facing backwards and spin 360 degrees while a Wing Rider stays facing forward and doesn't spin. So the Coaster needs to still beat Furius Baco (80 mph) and Wild Eagle (210 ft) to be the tallest and fastest Wing Rider.
  10. ^Gemini overall isn't rough it is just in the wheel seat (3rd row of each car). Also I did find out that on PTC trains that if you avoid sitting in a wheel seat and keep your back off the seat back for the whole ride, it can make Mean Streak or any other rough woodie GOOD! The seat back must vibrate and that vibration hurts your back.
  11. My roughest coasters are: Mean Streak at Cedar Point Mantis at Cedar Point Corkscrew at Cedar Point Magnum XL 200 at Cedar Point in a wheel seat (avoid all the wheel seats but the third row 1st car cause of airtime ) Gemini at Cedar Point in a wheel seat (avoid all wheel seats) Canyon Blaster at The Great Escape (worst mine train ever!) Steamin' Deamon at The Great Escape Predator at Darien Lake Cyclone at SFNE Hercules at Dorney Park Silver Streak at Canada's Wonderland Wild Cat at Hersey Park Wild Cat at Lake Compounce Pegasus at MT. Olympus Hades at MT. Olympus (love the ride) Voyage at Holiday World (love the ride) Anaconda at Kings Dominion Hurler at Kings Dominion Hyper Sonic XLC at Kings Dominion Villain at Geauga Lake Raging Wolf Bobs at Geauga Lake Le Cobra at La Ronde High Speed Thrill Coaster at Knoebels Any Boomerang without the new trains Any SLC without the new trains
  12. Didn't see a topic for this and since we have the coolest coaster trains thread, I thought that we should have a thread were you can post the oddest coaster trains you can find. Personally I think Intamins stand up trains look like an expiriment that was made in someone's garage at home and the harnesses are very odd in the fact that only 1 part of it lowers down. Also the Togo log coaster trains in the Japan are very odd.
  13. SL Coaster that was at Yomiuriland in Japan. It looks like it was designed in RCT! http://www.rcdb.com/1220.htm?p=14365
  14. Wrong! Formula Rossa is the fastest roller coaster at 150 mph. http://www.rcdb.com/4485.htm
  15. ^ And let's not forget "Fly faster then a Jumbo Jet" which is eluding to CPs old Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet coaster that sat in Disaster Transport site before http://www.rcdb.com/355.htm.
  16. I'd throw in Outlaw Run (Silver Dollar City's new Topper Track Woodie), an Intamin Pre-Fab woodie (El Toro, T Express, Balder, Colossos) to show how modern techniques can make theses coasters so smooth yet so wild, NTAG to show how it isn't a wooden coaster and to show what they are most likely doing to the Rattler, Stealth (CGA) as the first successful flying coaster, Air to show fixes to make the flying coaster more reliable, early looping coasters and their design flaws, Corkscrew (Knotts Berry Farm) and Revolution (SFMM) to show the fixes they made in the designing of the loops, Takabisha (worlds steepest coaster at 121 degrees), Tower of Terror II to show how LSMs make this ride to be the first to go 100 mph, Superman Escape from Krypton (first coaster to go 400 ft in the air), and Formula Rossa (as mentioned above but I'm giving you the name). I think that's it.
  17. ^ Sorry if this is dumb, but what is American Thunders clone?
  18. ^ If that isn't bad enough, they also had stand-up trains on the mine train at SFStL.
  19. I don't think we will see another Dark Knight as I think the plan for any clones were thrown in the dumpster after the chain heard the mixed reviews from the SFGA and SFGADV ones.
  20. I'll agree with you on this but, I think the standing up SUBTRACTs the value of the ride. To be honest, I don't think we will ever see another Stand-Up again because of thier slow loading times and roughness. I've ridden Green Lantern, Mantis, and Le Cobra. I found Green Lantern to be the best as the only roughness I really got was in the area between the first and second Corkscrew's. Mantis is "meh" with more roughness in the beginning then Green Lantern which could go away is they turn off that darn trim on the first drop. And Le Cobra, well, let's just say I'm glad Intamin is out of the Stand-Up bussiness.
  21. Comet at The Great Escape last Saturday.
  22. ^^ Never stayed there, but I heard that camp ground can get pretty bad noise wise due to the Six Flags employees staying there over the summer.
  23. Let's also add Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to that list because of Superman.
  24. ^ The 1st or 2nd rows are the best since the rest of the train rattles your brain to mush. The wait shouldn't be too bad if you ride early.
