  1. I don't think you should be criticizing Cedar Fair's naming ability when you write a sentence like that. Fixed Sorry guys, didn't know how bad that sentence was.
  2. Sorry for bumping but again, I think I should share my opinion. The names I don't like are: Goliath (over used) Ride of Steel (boring!) Any newer rides (ie not from the early coaster days) with the name Coaster or Roller Coaster Boomerang (over used) Viper (over used) Dragster H2O (YUCK!) Flight Deck (boring!) Drop Tower (boring!) Anything in Asia (most of the names are odd except for a few) Go Bananas (odd) Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit (too long!) Arkham Asylum-Shock Therapy (too long and odd!) Gothem City Gauntlet Escape from Arkham Asylum (odd & I think it is the worlds longest coaster name! ) Spinning Batman (ok, it is not themed to Batman and it doesn't spin ) Anything themed to Batman and Superman (over used) I think that is it .
  3. I have to admit, I don't like the way Dorney runs that wild mouse I mean come on, 2 adults per car that is meant for 4 that is bulls*it! I mean other Maurer Söhne wild mouses run just fine with 4 adults in the car such as GCG:EAS at SFNE why is Dorney's the only one that is run in this dumb fashion?!
  4. ^ I think he means that they will have the same theme just like the Intimidator's not that they are the same ride.
  5. ^^ oops I did mean to say that I do count each clone as there own credits, my bad . ^ I do count things like Blazing Fury and Fire in the Hole but, I don't count Miner Mike clones, they are the only powered coasters I don't count.
  6. Sorry to bump a thread but I thought I should share my opinion on credits. Racing/dueling coasters: 1 credit if the two tracks are very similar (Gemini) and 2 credits if the tracks are very different (Lightning Racers, Joris en de Draak, Gwazi, and Dragon Challenge). Water Coasters: 1 credit if the coaster section is long enough (Mack Supersplash's draws the limit for me) things like Shoot the Rapids at Cedar Point and Pilgrim's Plunge at Holiday World are not coasters. Rethemes: not a new credit if you've ridden it before the retheme. Redo's: A new credit if the track is significantly modified (Phantoms Revenge, NTAG, and Powder Keg). Powered coasters: if it is semi powered by gravity I'll count it but, if it is just going around in a circle and only changing elevation by very little (Miner Mike's) it is not. New locations: not a new credit if you've ridden it in it's old location. Kiddie coasters: they are coasters just for kids, why not count them . Clones: 1 credit since they are different coasters but in another park. I think that is it .
  7. If it is that green track (which I doubt) the jeep will think its the same ride as Raptor or that it IS Raptor . Also it would be nice if they did renovate that area, it dose look a little bit dated and if they do, they should also do the same for the Gemini midway, that looks REALLY dated.
  8. Storm looks like it will be a cool and awesome ride by looking at that video. Congratulations to Mack and Etnaland for putting together this cool ride. Although it definety dose look like Mack and Entaland looked at Intamin Megalites. Hopefully we see more of theses and that they take off better then the Megalites (more then 4 and not all in Asia).
  9. How could that not work?! The 'Save The Wildcat", "Save The Space Spiral" and "Save The Disaster Transport" pages really were huge successes! And let's not forget the pave the Deja Vu page and the save the Metro page .
  10. Agreed on that. Let's hope they don't EVER hold another "name the ride vote" on their Facebook page again .
  11. Wave 2 of awful Hawk jokes, begin. Actually, don't. Gatekeeper . Oh Cedar Fair how you amaze me with your naming skills. Although, it does make sense given the coasters location near the parks main entrance.
  12. I think Great Adventure is a pretty good park as far as rides go. Nitro should not be missed as well as the two you stated and Batman is a good intense invert but unless you have not ridden a Batman clone I wouldn't go out of your way for it. I found Green Lanturn to be one of the better stand ups but unless you are a fan of stand ups I would skip it as it can get long lines during the day and the lines thing also goes for Superman Ultimate Flight as well. Skull Mountain is a odd dark ride and if it has a short line I would ride it. Skip the Dark Knight and Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train as they are family coasters (but if you have time and are a credit whore then go for it!). Also, make sure to ride Bizarro as it is an intense floorless and the first one. This leaves Runaway Mine Train and Rolling Thunder which are sort of "meh" rides but are not rough or painful. As far as Flats go make sure to ride Houdini's Great Escape (one of only two Vekoma Mad Houses in the USA), the Parachute Tower (like the one that used to be at Knotts), Sky Ride, and Sky Screamer. Food is nothing special and over priced but Totally Kick In Chicken I found to be decent. As far as operations go, I didn't find them to be terrible, but not the best either if you go on a weekend make sure to buy a flash pass as lines can get long. Also if there is time and you are into animals, make sure to do the Safari next to the park.
  13. That's ok dude just wanted to know if we are seeing the return of train wrapping.
  14. Could you post a picture of the ads since I want to see if they are a wrap or just a little decal?
  15. Sadly, I think we are seeing the return of the old Ride Rotation Program that Six Flags had in the 1980's & 1990's. The main moves that prove it are Deja Vu from SFMM to SFNE and Iron Wolf from SFGA to SFA. I would exclude the rides from SFNO & SFKK as the parks closed and Six Flags pulled out the rides that were save able & able to be marketed successfully in a new park.
  16. The wing rider track in the pictures has already been spotted at a new park in China called Ocean Kingdom. There are pictures of the track here. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=62098&hilit=Mysterious+green+B%26amp%3BM+track&start=220
  17. That piece of trash they call Le Cobra at La Ronde
  18. Well after the disaster that Shoot the Rapids was I don't think Cedar Point wants another Intamin with tons of problems and since B&M is the only other company that provides wing riders, I think it's self expanitory. That and the Sandusky Register confrimed the plans a little while ago.
  19. I'm going to have to say that this dose look like a water park addition or maybe they really ARE trying to get us in a guessing frenzy
  20. Hey guys I went to La Ronde last weekend and had a good time. Goliath is a pretty good hyper coaster although I do think they could lessen the trims on the hill after the turn around. Next we rode Le Monstre which I thought was a wild woodie which had some air on the first hill and some laterals in the giant helix, they need to replace the trains as the bar is a little uncomfortable and the seat belts wrapped the bar are worthless considering they have normal seat beats. One positive I noticed is that Le Monstre now has topper track on the first drop on both sides. After Le Monstre we walked past Le Vampire which I noticed police investigating the ride area near the exit to the second loop. After we watched them walking around and investigating we waited in line for Le Cobra and boy was it painful. They were only running 1 train on a Saturday and the dispatch times were averaging at around 4 minutes, as for the ride, well, let's just let the smile tell you .After that we enjoyed our last ride of the day which was Vol Ultime which I thought was better then the Windseekers even though it was half the height.
  21. Can't say I'm surprised, I'm pretty sure that the "Save the Disaster Transport page" will be up soon enough.
  22. You can most likely be able to get to Alaska at Dorney or Michigan's Adventure where Disaster Transport will most likely be relocated
  23. Nice to see the Chiller being relocated. Although I never got to ride it, it did look really cool and intense. I do wonder how much of the sturcture needs to be replaced as I'm pretty sure sitting in a field in New Jersey for years has not been kind to the structure, track, and LIMs. All I hope is that it doesn't become as jerky as the Canyon Blaster at the Great Escape which had some of its track replaced after sitting in Old Indiana Fun Park for 4 years
