Had it already been painted or was it the old color? -

I'd be pretty excited to get the Iron Horse Treatment on the Boss. On a side note, I take it SFSTL is dead? -

What's done is done. I'll say the same thing I've said since after Mr. Freeze opened: "Better luck next year". (on a good steel coaster coming to us) -

The disappointment factor isn't because WoF has a Boomerang. The disappointment factor comes from the fact that we're getting a Boomerang, period. I would have rather seen Batman get new paint and refurbishment, than this piece of garbage. -

I'll agree with that. American Thunder was a pretty good bang for the buck, but then WOF got Prowler and 1-up'd us again. -

SFoG - Daredevil Dive: I was expecting a great experience on my first Eurofighter, but instead what I got is a boring forceless ride. On the other hand... Beat at King's Island: I was expecting another rough 'hold on for your life and for the credit' woodie. Instead, not only did I enjoy it, but my wooden roller coaster hating wife (except GCI) also loved it. -

Anyone who thinks the Ninja is out of control rough hasn't ridden the Vortex at King's Island or Ninja at SFoG. Ninja isn't intense enough to be as rough as people make it out to be. -

I knock LA all the time, but it really doesn't even come close to what it's like in China. I believe we saw the sun and blue sky 2 out of 16 days. One day, it felt like I was breathing in raw coal dust. It's a shame, because when they 'cleaned up' for the Olympics it was amazing and beautiful, and showed everyone that it was possible to get rid of the pollution with a little bit of effort, now they've pretty much given up. The good thing about experiencing something like that is that it makes you thankful. -

If the windows were plexiglass, it would be cracked to hell. I'm sure the windows were made of thin scratch resistant polycarbonate. It doesn't break, it bends and it's very durable. (Worked as a manufacturing analyst for a plastics company before I became a cop) -

With as much money in scrap metal as that is, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't cost CP a penny. -
The only thing worse than spring break would probably be spring break in LA... I'm sure the whole area will be swimming with people, even more than usual.

The steel plant existed before B&M began using them for their US (and maybe now worldwide) track manufacturing. Interestingly, Walter Bolliger came to the plant in the late 80's after noticing the solid work they had previously done, most notably on the structure for Vortex (Kings Island) and Shockwave (SF Great America). I just saw this article posted within the last week, I'm not sure how many of you have seen it before. It has some GREAT insight and pictures on the steel plant that produces the B&M track: newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2008/12/scott-carol-present.html Good read. Thanks for the post.

Apparently it was tested for some of the park employees, but thank god it wasn't made into a permanent change.
