Schwarzkopf vs. Arrow Shuutle Loops

Gotta go Schwarzkopf here. AW's Greezed Lightnin' always pleased. Hopefully someone is adopting this orphan. -
Mitch Hawker's STEEL Coaster Poll!
Tour2ma replied to CoasterFanatic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Done and in... Agree, that the variety makes the steels much more difficult to rank. The spreadsheet version of the ballot was a big help. -

My vote is in... Good luck to all. Now how do I get this purple ink off my finger? -

I'd make the same audio mix comment as I made above, the music and speaking overlap distracted me as I looked to tie the lyric to the action. Plus in your case, I did not care for the choice of song. It did not feel fresh... if that makes any sense. Video-wise, I thought the edit was clean. I did like the upside down cut of the drop ride and the long shot footage of GeForce flowed especially well. Overall, I thought it was a good effort and, if it did not stand out, it did belong with this group. -
What would rides be like on the moon?
Tour2ma replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, if we're gonna get geeky with it... 8) ... it would be exactly 1/6th as exciting at typical earth speeds and hill radii. But you could increrase speed and/or decrease the radius to promote faster direction changes... Now the one thing you could not compensate for is the feeling of the wind in your hair. -

^ Actually I did with the exception of the talking snipets audio overlaying the music... more than I could handle. By contrast much of the dual audio with the ride roar and music worked. Strong bits included the slo-mo when the song slowed, quick cuts during the refrain (some good sync there) and the ending (EGF stopping timed with fade). -

Thanks, Eric... Appears there are quite a number of FF CD's. Which one of these is the one? http://www.gkworld.com/results.cgis?catalog=&keywords=final+fant+sound -

Thanks, Dis... I'll look it up. Trust me the memories of the Pain of Finals fades with age, but the ones of good times remain... Good Luck... -
Pick N Mix Video #1 Contest Top 20!

Congrats to all the final 20... or 19 I should say as I could not view BPM4President 's.... getting a Codec error. I would like the music credits for Erik Johnson's and DisWiz's, both were unusual, but very effective (and somewhat affective as well) choices. Rob, Since the entries getting the most acclaim are different, maybe instead of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, there should be categories, e.g., Best Video, Best Video Editing, Best Fx, Best Homage to Elissa, etc. Just thinking out loud... Anyway I have my tally sheet ready for the voting. -

Best coaster ride when raining
Tour2ma replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Grabbed about a 30 minutes of continuous RT on Holiday World's The Raven in the rain before lightning forced a temporary shutdown. I'm not sure exactly how much speed was picked up, but it definitely picked up some. Only section where you really got pelted was the first turn over the lake. Face was stinging pretty good there. I was happy I had on my wrap-around shades. Rest of the ride was reasonably well protected by the trees. Only significant in the rain experience I've had. Next best thing to night riding... -
Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
Tour2ma replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best Ending: Holiday World's The Legend Tight, high-bank 180 with a little air pop going into the head-snapping brakerun. Worst Ending: Blackpool's Big One It's so-o-o-o-o slo-o-o-o-ow that you actually feel like you might fall out of it's helix for lack of G forces. Real shame is that the first half of the ride is very good. -
Exactly where I was "sitting" when I had my only real coaster scare. I honestly thought I was out of the train for a second. The combination of the neg and lateral G's in that one seat as you simultaneously accelerate over the lift hill and twist 90 degrees to the right have to be experienced to be believed. Of course I rode there again for confirmation...

Glad to see others have found some reride friendly parks as well. It used to be that you rode as long as you had tickets in your pocket. I had thought the days of rerides left us with the advent of the one-price park. That was until Holiday World... I enjoyed multiple rerides on both The Raven and The Legend last year. If no one was waiting for your seat, you just stayed on. If there was a single, you joined him/ her. In all I landed over 30 rides on each in an evening and the better part of a day... it was heaven...

Another Texas Cyclone drop... #6 coming out of the third turn. In the rear is (sorry... ) was a real treat as it threw you to the right and then upwards hard. It was sneaky too, as the big hills were behind you. About the only bit of the ride they never did "tame"... Check out the rear seat POV video...

Elissa, If you would please: "Looking for one more nickel night reride." Thanks and...

Rough and Pointless: Colossus - SFMM Front facing was bad enough, but then I had to ride it backwards... Rough and Fun: Texas Cyclone - SFAstroworld In first couple years of operation it would BTH outta you (especially in the front seat)... and you'd love it. Then they went and tamed it... So Unrideably Rough that They Tore It Down: The Bat - PKI Was broke down more than it was up, but I got to ride it one night. I was told they had doubled the number of shock absorbers per car, yet it still bottomed out at least four times during the ride... and everytime it did it hurt.
