I think the show Epic Adventures on Travel Channel has given a hint at a coaster name change! Nighthawk was called Carolina Cyclone!....lol Also before Fury 325, Intimidator was the longest steel coaster in North America. Someone didn't do their fact checking. -

It is the prototype... It was rather smooth in 2008 when I rode it several times during the season. It was even in my top ten...until this year. When I returned last month it was the roughest thing in the park...with Carolina Cyclone not too far behind. -

If I were to see something like this going on I would be reporting that person to guest relations or whoever else needs to be informed. I don't know all the ins and outs of park operations, but I thought the bins were put in use so that employees didn't have to handle riders belongings and therefore the park can state they aren't responsible for them (this outside of providing a place for loose articles). I would think an employee taking them and putting them in for you would make them responsible should they go missing or broken. This is one reason they are starting to put lockers in now with new coasters (besides increasing capacity)....they will be at the rest soon enough. -

^That's standard practice for most amusement parks with their season passes. They always offer discounted deals before the start of summer. After a certain point they go to a regular rate. I had the same thing happen as I wasn't ready to purchase mine at the lower rate when it was available because I wasn't sure I would make it. Also I'm pretty sure Carowinds has been 3 years old and younger free for as long as they've been Cedar Fair owned and Paramount before...never 4 and under. -

The only CCI coaster I've ridden is Cheetah @ Wild Adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and was quite surprised how smooth it was (in 2012). It was my # 2 woodie until I rode GCI's White Lightning (2013) @ Fun Spot and Thunderhead (in 2014). Keep in mind I've never been on a woodie north of KD or west of Dollywood/SFOG so I don't have a lot to compare (only 16 wood ridden)...yet. -

Yes. Now the only Togo left in the USA will be Big Apple Coaster @ New York, New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. -
The Mears shuttle is great. I used it a few times back when I first started visiting Orlando/Tampa. Depending on your pickup spot it takes an hour-hour 20 minutes to get to the park. Just be sure to arrive a bit early at your pickup spot and be sure to be back at the bus before it's scheduled return time (which they will tell you on your bus). The thing with this is they usually return before park closing (usually by 6 or 7PM) so don't expect to get any night rides. They do not allow backpacks on rides and you will need to use a l.o.c.k.e.r for most coasters. They do have bins/cubbyholes for shoes/flipflops/cups but they aren't secured and used at your own risk. You may be able to leave your bag off to the side at some flat rides. I hadn't been recently, but the lockers used to be 50 cents...I heard they went up but someone else here perhaps can confirm.

Red=Where the stakes are/were. Blue=Waterpark I doubt those stakes have anything to do with the water park being way over there or even a flat ride for the park. They did however shoot the fireworks off for the 4th near that area. Then again if it was for that why leave those behind after clean-up? They are probably just messing with folks...lol -

^I'm sure it depends on the crew working a particular shift/time of day. When I was at Carowinds last month they were dispatching very slow and stacked all trains pretty much all 3 days I was went to the park that week. It was a 20 minute wait at the bottom of the stairs on one of my rides. That's ridiculous. With Carowinds they have the newness with Fury 325 so likely their top people are over there. Also those bins in the station really slow everything down, especially when they work with a skeleton crew (as it was when I was there since schools were still in session). Perhaps as the season progresses they will get these newer folks together at all their parks. -

I miss the old Powder Keg Flume...Intimidator is a nice replacement I guess, but it would have been nice to have both. I did hate the Nickelodeon theming they had on it in it's final years though. -
