  1. That's why they just added 900 spaces by the main gate when they built Fury 325 and revamped the front entrance. They knew they were doing this well in advance. They probably need it today since they are using the grass overflow. But as commented above it was in the works anyways.
  2. They can more than triple the water park with the land available over there. I doubt the grassy/tree area would be used but there is a lot of space to work with. I just wish they'd keep Thunder Road and build on the other side with a path underneath. CW2016.bmp
  3. It's all about personal preference. Some people just don't like spinning or rotating like that with a frisbee ride (even though it's not a fast spin) so they are more likely to prefer a Screamin' Swing. I've been on 2 Screamin' Swings and one frisbee ride, and I prefer the Screamin' Swings. Frisbees were my favorite flat until I rode Barnstormer at Dollywood last year and I normally don't like rides that spin (diskos make me nauseous for example). I think it was the airtime I get on the SS and they didn't have OTSRs like the frisbee I've been on (Rattler @ Wild Adventures).
  4. Eh...I like Mako more than Reef Hunter. After Cheetaka (great name) became Cheetah Hunt (awful name...great coaster) & BGT I wouldn't be surprised if it was named Reef Hunter. Either way I'll ride it.
  5. How long do you think a coaster with that layout would be? Over 8000 feet? #pipedreams
  6. Generally during summer in Charlotte it rains/storms in the afternoon as it heats up (when it does) and it's usually quick moving and lasts maybe 30 minutes. It's rarely an all day wash out, unless it's remnants of a tropical storm/hurricane from the Gulf or Atlantic. Of course there are always other exceptions since weather pretty much happens when it happens. Just pay attention to the forecast as close to when you're going to plan accordingly.
  7. I absolutely love Seaworld...I really do. I will say Antarctica Empire Of The Penguin was a huge let down from all the hype. I was expecting the ride to be at least twice as long. I've only done it once since it opened and that was during a passholder perk where I could skip the line once with a voucher shortly after it opened. I would have been really pissed if I had waited in that 180 minute line (according to the wait time posted). I did like the penguin area itself, but honestly preferred the old one with the moving walkway. I really do like the rest of the area however. Expedition Cafe is now our go to place for lunch or dinner when at the park. I will also include that I wasn't very impressed with Turtle Trek either. That may be partly due to not being able to see the full effect of 3D since I'm blind in one eye. I just go through there to see the manatees underwater when I go and skip the rest. Wild Arctic needs a facelift. I get bored with watching the film just to see the animal exhibits after. Sometimes they will let us in through the back to skip it, but usually someone will say you can't. I just want to see the animals at this point...lol
  8. They will still be in school on Friday. The morning may not be too bad. However the late afternoon and evening may be another story. I wouldn't go near the park personally the rest of the weekend without FL+.
  9. OH I know the GP could care less. It's a new ride to them no matter what it is. There are others however I can see complaining. I'll be happy with whatever it is, but I really want a hyper at one of my home parks.
  10. I don't want a wing coaster there. There are enough inversions in the park. FL needs a Hyper. If they build a wing coaster someone will say it's elements are too much like Kraken and will almost be on top of each other.
  11. I'm trying to figure out what Seaworld park you're referring to. Seaworld Orlando: Kraken (Floorless) & Manta (Flying); nothing like each other & not that close to each other. Seaworld San Antonio: Great White (Invert); no others. Seaworld San Diego: No B&M. BGT: Montu (Invert), Kumba (Sit Down) & SkeiKra (Floorless Dive); none are near each other and all different ride type. BGW: Alpengeist (Invert), Griffon (Floorless Dive) & Apollo's Chariot (Hyper); while Alpengiest & Griffon both have Immelmanns, they are all completely different ride types. I guess you would be referring to BGW but still those are different experiences.
  12. To expand the water park they only have to do what was done at Kings Dominion with Rebel Yell...yes...a path under Thunder Road...which there are at least 3 already for maintenance. Thunder Road isn't going anywhere just yet.
  13. Also there are other rides than coasters that CF parks install....and waterpark additions too. I'm sure all that's included along with other park enhancements...unless of course it said that was just for rides. With all the parks in the chain 120 million can go pretty fast with all the additions. I don't see five new (big) coasters in the chain in one year. Maybe a a couple large ones, a couple smaller ones and maybe a relocation.
  14. To be fair, the park only had 6 coasters when Paramount bought them. They added 7 (1 now closed). They had to do this to keep up with market area (It was almost the same thing with Carowinds). Of the 6 they put in still operating, only a couple are even really noteworthy: Flight of Fear & Volcano. The park already had 13 coasters when Cedar Fair took over. They closed one and added a decent used floorless and from my understanding a kick-@ss Intamin giga (hadn't been since CF purchased). You have to remember as well that Paramount only had 5 parks...Cedar Fair has triple that if you include the separate ticketed waterparks. They don't need to add a coaster every year/every other year like Paramount needed to do to keep up. I think Cedar Fair knows what they are doing.
  15. I don't think they'll ever get a dive coaster...you know since there is one about an hour to the SE of it. A B&M Flyer perhaps...even though there is a Flying Dutchman an hour and a half NE. I also don't know about a B&M Hyper or Invert for the same reason as above for those who think they'll be adding one. Intamin (MC) perhaps, but then you have the one at SFA. I think they may go for the tallest wing coaster since that's the only one not anywhere nearby.
  16. What parking lot? This one? That's the parking lot for the marina, Famous Dave's and Human Resources. Don't think that's going anywhere. The area is not really that large. The pics I've seen provide a nice optical illusion that it's larger than it really is. It is perfect for a nice larger than normal dive coaster.
  17. Normally that may be the case. The park knew the area was going to need to be cleared, and it's definitely easier to do it in the off season. There wasn't any need in getting the cars ready to open for a couple months with wasted maintenance and training on a ride that was leaving. Also the theater would have been sitting empty anyway so why not remove it ASAP. It was also a good time to move any other attractions they were keeping then so as to not lose more attractions temporarily for the remainder of the season. It makes sense to do that much clearing before the season starts and reroute any roads and utilities in that area. Since Perimeter Rd is the only way for guests to get to and from the hotels/campground it made sense to do so this early to not cause more traffic delays than usual during the busy summer months.
  18. I was able to ride it when the park was still owned by Paramount without a child....lol
  19. UPDATE: In order ridden, including two that moved: Wild Maus (BGW moved to BGT) Big Bad Wolf Drachen Fire Viper (SFOG moved to KK-scrapped?) Flying Super Saturator (Carowinds) Gwazi Tiger Gwazi Lion
  20. The lift hill of what? I believe they are referring to Invertigo. The lift cable snapped/broke recently.
  21. This is wonderful news! It's about time they officially let something out of the bag. Here's what I believe it will be: -B&M Hyper, 200 ft or maybe +5-15 feet to make it taller than SheiKra if allowed. -Shark Themed, perhaps called Great White (since it has the TM already with the invert in TX...savings $$$) -Station between Shark encounter and Nautilus Theater headed out & back along retention pond along I-Drive/parallel to Kraken -Alternate station location where Nautilus Theater is, however since it's the largest indoor theater, I don't think they would remove it just yet.
