  4. This would have been the year after my first trip there - Mum and dad had told us "we were going somewhere" butg wouldn't say where, and the neighbour gave it away a few days before. Amongst the now closed rides we did were: Black hole - one of the attractions I was really looking forward too Corkscrew - My first upside down coaster - YAY! 4 man bob - didn't know about this one before going, but liked it! Alpine Bobsleigh - the predecessor of the wiegand rides - http://old.towerstimes.co.uk/history/oldrides/alpine.htm 1001 knights - my first experience of the gut crushing restraint! the original skyride! I'm sure we did the cine 360 or cinema 2000

  7. Rode it several times during the ECC ers this past weekend! Great little ride - smooth, fun, thoroughly enjoyable, and even some nice air on the drop if you're near the back! Can't praise them highly enough!
  8. nothing stopping you just staying one night in the hotel in stoke on trent - a couple of years ago the north stafford hotel (which is the one opposite the station) had an offer including towers tickets
  9. If you're south of london, it has to be thorpe - alton would take about 4 hours to get too (assuming you're using public transport)

I was lucky enough to visit m & d's in Scotland a few weeks ago, where they have 2 entries in the roughest coaster list. 1st up - space coaster (which their website claims launches you from 0-60 in 8 seconds). http://rcdb.com/3653.htm Looks innocent enough, but seriously bashes your legs, and the helix is just pain!! 2nd up - tornado. http://rcdb.com/1070.htm Had heard bad reviews, the 2 loops are actually pretty smooth, then EVERY transition gives you a big old neckchop! Strangely fun though!

  15. They got rid of tomahawk for a top spin??? that makes me want to cry a little Still - the alpine coaster is awesome, and I didn't think whirlwind was too bad either!

  18. Looks a great ride! Coasterforce had a good visit to the park on the 12th. Actually I lied - Most of the rides (including gatekeeper) were closed all day because of the wind!! glad I wasn't there!!

  20. I actually quite liked the track editing in hyper rails - it was just a little buggy, and had an awful manual - I'm hoping they've improved for TPS it's now $79,535!
  21. Oh, I can handle plenty of intenseness! I thought baco had a great launch, but that was where the positives ended. The restraints are a lot tighter than the other intamin OTSRs (which I never really have a problem with), and the ride just vibrates horribly throughout I just wonder what goudurix would have been like if it was built by B&M
  22. Maybe that one was a bit OTT (I'd need to ride both again to be sure), but I'd still stand by my comment that Goudurix is better than Furius baco, kanonen, infusion (and some of the other SLCs - I think it was SFA's mind eraser which was particularly bad) and Space mountain 2
  23. What? How can you like Goudurix more than SDL? I understand that SDL is one of the tamest Schwarzkopf's but it doesn't try to kill you. I just found it dull, particularly after nessie at hansa park..
