  1. I never had an opportunity to visit Astroworld, but it's pretty awesome to see a shuttle loop and ultra twister together. Anyway, this was a very cool retro trip report.
  2. I actually enjoy the B&M dive coasters, so I'm looking forward to riding this during the spring/summer. I think it's a terrific addition to the park and really gives the park an even more solid coaster collection.
  3. Please be an Intamin. Seriously, I'd love to see another Intamin (as Busch seems like the best shot, at least stateside, nowadays, anyway) or a Mack. Obviously, I'm a bit partial to Intamin coasters, but I do like some variety.
  4. Great start Martin, as usual I'm looking forward to the rest.
  5. It's so awesome to see new Intamin construction going on elsewhere in the world given their gradual disappearance stateside over the last few years.
  6. ^ I'd have to say that CP and KI are my preferred parks in the Cedar Fair chain; I also really enjoy the charm of Knott's (plus it's one of the WCB parks-which obviously bolsters its appeal even more); that said, I'd probably put Great Adventure after those three; and although it does have El Toro and Nitro, I'll look at the entire experience.
  7. 1. Cedar Point 2. King's Island 3. Knott's Berry Farm 4. King's Dominion 5. Carowinds 6. World's of Fun 7. Valley Fair 8. Michigan's Adventure 9. Dorney Park
  8. Let me guess, this photo was taken around 11pm. Seriously, this coaster looks pretty rad; it makes me miss Scandinavia.
  9. I'm really enjoying this trip report; Japan looks awesome.
  10. I had the opportunity to ride Fury yesterday during the media day and I will say that the ride does definitely improve the park's ride selection and skyline; I think it will really appeal to the public, which is great for park attendance, revenues, and future investment. That said, did this coaster blow me away? In all honesty, no. Fury is fun and fast, but like Derek mentioned, I would put it in my B-class of coasters, and my count is about half of his. I admittedly found myself a bit underwhelmed, which is not to say it isn't a good coaster. In fact, Fury is a both a solid coaster and addition to Carowinds. In any case, I hope Fury will generate some really positive effects for years to come, which can only be good for the park and the industry.
  11. This looks pretty awesome- looking forward to riding it this week.
  12. I must say that this one cool looking station- I'm looking forward to seeing it in-person a couple months from now.
  13. I must say that this one cool looking station- I'm looking forward to seeing it in a couple months.
  14. I would of thought you'd be looking more forward to the unknown Intamin hyper. This may turn out to be one of the better coasters in Asia if I305 & SkyRush are any indication of what the modern Intamin mega-coaster is like. I'd look forward to it more if I could ride it any time soon.
  15. I'd have to say Wicked Cyclone, followed by Twisted Colossus and Fury 325.
  16. I have to say- as somebody who prefers Intamin, I don't typically get that excited about B&Ms (especially new ones), but I am actually really pumped to ride this next week.
  17. After debating which park to participate in my third "Coasting for Kids", I decided to do King's Island; I am again looking forward to this awesome event/cause.
  18. Terrific start to your TR, Andy. I look forward to following this thread; something about your photos just makes me wish it was summer already (for the weather and of course, the coasters, especially as it snows in Chicago tonight).
  19. 1. Banshee 2. Talon 3. Montu 4. Great Bear 5. Alpengeist
  20. Nice report Neil, the "Big Zipper" looks really awesome; I have yet to do one of these "Superman" zip-lines, but I am suddenly inspired to find one near me.
  21. Of the new coasters that I rode this summer, I would rank them as follows, 1. Banshee: I was pleasantly surprised by Banshee, especially since I was so skeptical about another B&M. That said, I really enjoyed the layout and found it both fun and re-rideable. The theming and experience is definitely a leap forward for Cedar Fair. Night rides on it are fantastic. 2. Lighting Run: This was another pleasant surprise. I think this coaster shows that even a less costly alternative can pack a proverbial punch and offer a lot within a small layout. 3. Goliath: I had both high expectations and excitement for this coaster (more than the other new coasters), since this is an RMC and it's at my home park. However, after the first-airtime hill, it was really downhill from there. It is definitely a solid coaster, but no Outlaw Run. I was let-down, but I think that is partly due to RMC's reputation for high-quality coasters. It needed more air-time hills and less hang-time. Of course, I understand that the former Iron Wolf site is unique and impacted the coaster design, but I was a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, it is a good coaster, just not as good as Outlaw Run. 4. Helix: I was underwhelmed by Helix. I think it's a solid coaster, but the launches/ some of the elements were somewhat lackluster, especially when compared to say- Maverick. However, I really do like how the coaster interacts with the terrain. The couple air-time hills were really good too. I think Helix also scores big for its electronic-music blasting, futuristic club-looking station. Of course, experiencing this ride with TPR during Scandi definitely added to the overall experience. 5. El Loco: This is a decent coaster, but it has some serious competition from the coasters listed above.
  22. Loop-de-loop always get a laugh out-of-me.
  23. Reading this thread has caused me about as much pain as Mantis. On a more positive note, I am really looking forward to the Breakers renovations, which is desperately needed (some of the larger rooms still have 1970s-era wood paneling).
