  1. I do understand Six Flags trying to save some money, though. Whatever they save will just be more to put toward lowering their debt and adding new attractions. Maybe I'll just go to Disneyland instead. Eric
  2. ^ I've heard people comment about empty trains even before reaching the first pre-show. That's easy to see since part of the queue winds around through the track structure. But I've been in ToT or HM when people are too busy yakking. It isn't every time, but often enough. Eric
  3. Not being a football fan, I had no idea that February 7 is Super Bowl Sunday, so that didn't even click. It's too bad that SFMM will be closed because Super Bowl Sunday is a good day to go out there. Eric
  4. I gave this a little more thought...what if the pre-shows were not only spread out a bit more, but were not so close to the station? That would allow some room for enough of a crowd to form and keep a little backlog on boarding. Another annoyance of mine is that people go into the pre-shows and just keep on yakking like they were still outside. But that happens anywhere---even in the Tower of Terror pre-show and the stretching room in the Haunted Mansion. FACT: People just can't shut up. Anyway, I hope at some point some adjustments can be made to Terminator to keep it running at maximum capacity. Eric
  5. ^ I think the swinging aspect could relieve some of the discomfort of a typical SLC. The "kneeling" riding position may well be interesting. I've always liked Arrow's swinging suspended coaster idea; sadly, the only one I've ridden is Ninja at SFMM. If Vekoma could pull this off, good for them. It looks like they're beginning to overcome their "painful coaster builder" reputation. Eric
  6. My favorite so far: It just looks right. Eric
  7. On another note, SFMM is closed on Sunday, February 7, according to their calendar. On the plus side, however, as we get further into the year, the park seems to be staying open a bit later (till 7pm or 8pm). Not too bad for a park during the winter. Eric
  8. ^ Sorry. I was poking a little fun at your design, but notice that I edited my post. I'm in a strange mood tonight; maybe I'll just log off and go take a walk... Eric
  9. While I don't possess the know-how to use Photoshop to design a card, I would design a very basic one with some adaptation of the TPR logo that is used here on the forums. Black background with the green, red, and blue colored letters/words that we're familiar with. Honestly, I do think those of you who have designed cards have done a good job. I do like the idea of membership cards. At one point in the early days of Westcoaster, they were working on designs for cards for members of the never formed Southern California Coaster Club. Eric
  10. I've wondered, too, whether spacing out the pre-shows would have worked. That would also result in a longer indoor queue (not a bad thing) and might allow a backlog of riders to build up---which is needed in order to ensure full trains. Eric
  11. This is where Terminator runs into problems. Can they not either have shorter pre-shows, combine two of them, or maybe just one that's a couple of minutes long? In my experience, most people don't even watch the first one, let alone the rest of them---they just want to get on the ride. Eric
  12. ^ Posted in 2010 while sitting in Ventura County. < Also posted this in 2010 while sitting in Ventura County. V Tried to post bail to get out of the county jail!
  13. If I go to 7-Eleven and it's closed, would that make it an inconvenience store? Eric
  14. ^ They grow taller. Eric
  15. ^ And that would certainly explain the Roller Skater from SFNO that is rumored to be heading to SFMM. There's no need to scrap perfectly good rides. Eric
  16. Kirk Douglas. Eric
  17. ^ Agreed. I think most Six Flags parks are not having major upgrades, so it's hard to justify spending a bunch of money on small coasters, little improvements, etc. Also, maybe what's in store for most Six Flags parks in 2010 will pale compared to what 2011 will bring and they're saving up for that and all the hoopla that will accompany those plans. I would think that the economy will be much improved by then, too. Eric
  18. ^ I noticed that on New Year's Eve when the guy at the Revolution control panel told us to "go check out Tatsu" and even threw in the infamous "HIYAAA!!!" To me that seems kind of pointless unless a ride has been having fewer riders than normal and they're trying to boost ridership. Now if they said to go check out Flashback or Psyclone, it'd just be funny if anyone actually tried to look for either one. But I have heard people referring to Terminator as the park having rebuilt Psyclone and changing its name. Eric
  19. As I said somewhere else, having this tour just might sway my decision to do the Knott's part of the event. (I'm wavering on it because I'm strapped for cash). But it's starting to look like WCB is going to bring to Knott's what Solace used to bring and what made it fun for the first few years. Eric
  20. ^^ Thank you. We need a Grammar Fairy around here sometimes... Now that Batman and Goliath are both very close to---or done---with painting, I hope to see them both open soon. The only ride now that could really use a repaint is Scream! Riddler's Revenge is holding up fairly well for a 12-year-old ride, and Tatsu, while starting to show some fading, isn't that bad yet. Eric
  21. I closed out the year on Ninja at SFMM...HI-YAAA!!! Eric
  22. ^ That's right, we do... [beams with pride] Eric
  23. I'm ashamed to say that I have never eaten at Ghost Town Grill. Next time I go, I'll definitely look into it. Eric
  24. My computer mouse's scroll wheel is acting up. It scrolls UP just fine, but not DOWN. I cleaned it out as well as I could and it still acts that way. It's a Logitech, but a cheapie one anyway, so it's time for a new mouse. Eric
  25. ^ Your video was NOT too long considering all that you covered. Being fellow Ventura County residents, we'll have to meet up sometime. Eric
