  1. Stop celebrating it as we do now, YES! Get back to the real meaning and take the emphasis off of the gifts. [/soapbox] Did you visit the post office today or in the last three days?
  2. Sure...that happens to me all the time. Did anyone in your home bake Christmas cookies?
  3. ^ Only the Doom Buggies go faster! Eric
  4. Looks like they've done quite a bit more on Batman's paint job. Last Sunday, the blue only went from the station to the halfway point in the heartline spin. Might even be done in a week! The extra clearing for the new coaster is interesting. Could it be that SFMM isn't getting the coaster that's been rumored to come? Eric
  5. ^^ That's what she tweeted. For some reason, I thought about the new coaster being called "Deja Vunior" (takeoff on Goliath Jr.), but I know that won't happen. But I thought by now we'd have something. In fact, I usually receive a notice in the mail to come renew my season pass, but nothing has come. Maybe they're just unplanningly behind... Eric
  6. ^ I like how they do the flags on Twitter: |> |> |> |> |> |> Some time back, Tim Burkhart mentioned that he had a few ideas that would make use of the Metro track. I hope that track is structurally sound enough to support anything. Something like the old Rocket Rods would be a nice attraction. And it could be adapted to use as a transportation system if the cars could pull into the existing stations. However, realistically, I think Metro's track will finally be removed whenever SFMM builds something on the mountain, as is rumored for 2011. Eric
  7. I stood on a street corner and announced it so I'd have an audience. Even got a few tips... Do you ever make a point to watch for 11:11:11 on November 11 (11/11) or 12:34:56 on July 8 (7/8)?
  8. ^ Last Sunday when I was at SFMM, the Dippin Dots guy was on his break, but the Season Pass Processing guy said that he heard something about that, too. Eric
  9. ^ If Rick Astley rocks, then you got Rick ROCKED! But I guess that's better than getting BRICK rocked! Eric
  10. ^^ Since you'll be entering the park in 2009, your 2009 pass should get you in. Technically, it expires at the close of business on December 31, 2009, but you will have entered before then. Eric
  11. ^ Actually, while I don't mind the color it is now, painting the track, say, blue, and the structure red with accents of yellow (or any mix thereof) would look nice. But most likely this is for a new coat of kryptonite block (KPF 500) or the previously mentioned botox. Or a change of shorts. Who knows? For all we know, the park is getting an early start on its 2011 plans... Eric
  12. Maybe Superman is out for a shot of Botox. Rides aren't the only things that show their age... Y'think Batman's trains will get a little change of color, too? Eric
  13. ^ Eh, no worries. He's just a little emotional. Eric
  14. ^^ I've heard that Gold Rusher is closed. But it was open on Sunday when I was there, so I can't confirm that. Next week, huh? I should meet up with you if I can. (EDIT: I was talking to Gregg.) Eric
  15. ^ What a great job you have! I wouldn't mind doing that. Eric
  16. I would pay to be able to climb all over a coaster. Thanks for some great shots. Eric
  17. ^ I have to admit that the more I look at the "new, blue" Batman, the more I like it. Eric
  18. You might look into what Canon has to offer. I don't personally have a Canon camcorder, but I know a few people who do and have been happy with them. Eric
  19. ^ Superman has been looking down on the park since 1996 (the ride's planned opening till technical problems delayed it till early 1997). He agreed to stay, but noticed that his friend Batman started feeling blue. So he needed some space and flew away. I would have done the same... Eric
  20. This is a picture of my grandparents' house. Unfortunately, it was torn down about September 2007, but I took a picture of it just over a year earlier. Eric
  21. ^ I've heard "Termy" before. Termination of that word will be our salvation. Eric
  22. ^ My brother-in-law lived there till about two years ago. I never went to visit him there, but my daughter did in 2002. Eric
  23. I went back through this entire thread and was surprised that I hadn't added myself. There are several members in Ventura County; I wonder if they've all added themselves. Eric
  24. Gold Rusher's entire layout was red in its first season (1971). When the park reopened for the 1972 season after an extensive six-month improvement, the track was painted a bright yellow color, and has been various shades of yellow ever since. The supports were dark green for awhile, too. Eric
