  1. Oh yeah, 1pm was when I was walking out. With the amount of people that were flowing in, I wouldn't have wanted to stay much longer. I didn't get anything from the Food & Wine booths (hoping to do a full day of that later) but the new Caribbean and Southwest options looked pretty good. Glad to see they're expanding the event a good deal.
  2. Went to the park today. It wasn't overly crowded, but there were butt tons of people flooding in while I was walking out. Both ticket buildings must have been at least an hour wait. I didn't get a chance to see the new show as I had to be in and out pretty quick, but I must say England is very much improved from last year, the amounts of color and music really make a huge difference. I got my first ride on Mach Tower of the season and found the drop to be larger than last year. I might just be insane though. Some pictures: Union Jacks have clearly taken over the area.
  3. Interesting, I wonder how that one fell through No idea, but let's just be happy that it did.
  4. Lochness has been without a logo on the hood since the 30th anniversary (2008) I believe.
  5. Some pics I took in the park yesterday if anyone's interested -
  6. I know this is only a rumor and should be considered as such with no validity, but thoughts on this? http://bgwfansite.com/2014/04/new-for-2015/ Personally I think a S:UF clone would be an awful move for the park. The capacity is not fit for the park, and in my opinion the ride would just look plain ugly. I think the park would be best off with something along the lines of Full-Throttle if it had nice use of terrain and theming (in Festa). But that's just me.
  7. This is so full of win! I've read through about half of this thread, and I can't wait until I get some time to read the rest! Your trip reports are fantastic! Although I haven't read them all, it's obvious in my mind that this was the best send off you possibly could have done.
  8. OK, so I lied. The weather was crap both weekends I made it to BGW, so I didn't take my camera stuff in or make any effort of getting photos. But, I am currently on spring break in Orlando, and have tons of photos that I will upload over the next couple of weeks or so. Today has been kind of a washout with the rain, so I figured I'd take advantage of the opportunity and upload some pictures. On Saturday I went to SeaWorld, so here's some pictures from there: (More pictures at higher-res here.) I arrived at the park shortly after noon, went in and immediately started riding the coasters. That's how I spent the majority of the day. Between Saturday and today (Tuesday) I got 9 rides on Kraken, as well as 9 on Manta. I really wish I had more pictures of the waterfront, but I took hardly any for some reason. In my opinion, Manta is the most beautiful ride I've ever seen. The theming is great, and it's got wonderful offride perspective. It's currently my favorite B&M, in my #10 spot. Thanks for looking. Next up is Islands of Adventure.
  9. Oh wow, that actually does look fantastic. Much better than I was expecting from them.
  10. ^That photo was posted literally 5 posts ago. Anyway, I think the blocky colors look a little weird, but I'm happy that the park is putting forth any theming at all to the station.
  11. Why doesn't it say you are part of Team TPR? Sorry, I didn't realize I had to join the team. I've deleted the link and taken off the banner. Sorry for any confusion.
  12. ^I really have doubts in my mind that that is how the photo booth is going to be left throughout the season.
  13. ^It's most definitely worth a few hour visit if you have a season pass. The coaster lineup is pretty fantastic, but the operations and employees really bring it down. During my visit last year, the first few hours were great as the park was practically empty, but as the day went on more people showed up and the lines got longer (I don't think I rode anything past 1pm). But if you're going for a coaster pickup for only a few hours I would definitely recommend it. They should put this on the cover of their 2014 Park Guide.
  14. ^^ & ^ Thanks! The park was a mess (even more than usual), but it was still more enjoyable than it is with all of the unpleasant employees and awful ride operations.
  15. ^Yes, that was most definitely the answer that the operations manager gave.
  16. ^Let's just say that it was a special event which I will spare the details to.
  17. OK, so, many people have these TR threads so I thought I'd give it a shot. Mine will be focused more on the photographs than captions and descriptions, as I suck at making those. Feel free to not read the ones I put down, they'll probably take away from the report anyway. That's something I hope to work on. Six Flags America - 3/1/2014 (below) SeaWorld Orlando - 4/5/2014 Islands of Adventure - 4/6/2014 Legoland Florida - 4/7/2014 Universal Studios - 4/9/2014 Busch Gardens Tampa - 4/10/2014 Islands of Adventure - 4/11/2014 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit SFA, and while the sun and lighting may not have been ideal, I feel like I still got some decent shots out of it. Go here for a construction update! (higher-res versions of these pictures available here) Anyway, In my opinion, the park makes a surprisingly good first impression. Of course, this impression is completely crushed when you advance further. Looking back at the entrance. I actually spent about 45 minutes sitting in Cold Stone last year after being so fed up with the ride operations and park employees. I must say the air conditioning felt nice in the 105 F heat. I personally hate this ride, but it looks nice with the receded trees. Opposed to Roar, I absolutely love Wild One. It's smooth and has great airtime. Probably in my top 10 woodies. Despite the lack of sun later in the day, somehow I made this picture work. It's my favorite one from the bunch. Joker's Jinx was in the process of being repainted, or at least the supports were. I'm not sure if the track is getting painted. I actually really liked Apocalypse last year. I was told to ride in the back, and I found it to have some oddly satisfying hangtime. Previously Falling Star. I think it looks much better with its new sign and color. One for the control panel geeks. And here's Flying Carousel to wrap it up. Thanks for looking. The next addition to this thread will be pictures from BGW later in the month.
  18. Some pictures from yesterday... Go here for some more photographs! Shipwreck Falls looks a bit worn...as everything else in the park does I suppose. Anyway, off to Mardi Gras... There won't be any fooling today, unfortunately. This is the pad where French Quarter Flyers will sit. They cut out all the trees and green, for a "more open" look. I was told some small bushes and shrubbery will be placed back in this spot, but I wouldn't put my money on it. (this is the spot across from Johnny Rockets) Walking around the corner... Back side of the FQF pad. The level of theming and detail is just astounding. This is where Ragin Cajun is going in. No vertical construction yet. Hmm...wonder what that could be for. Senora Speedway has been renamed the Big Easy Speedway. The cars will be the same, but they will have a very different look, supposedly. Tower of Doom will be renamed Voodoo Drop. None of the reps knew the color it's being painted, so I assume it's staying the same. This thing is missing from the top, however. Falling Star has been renamed Zydeco Zinger and has received a fresh coat of purple paint. Joker is getting a fresh new layer of dark purple paint on the supports. The difference isn't quite so apparent because of the sun's location in this picture, but trust me, it looks pretty fab in person. Seems Joker is shedding its old paint all over the place, and I'm so big of a geek I grabbed a piece and took it home with me. That's all, thanks for reading.
  19. I have to go with Mummy. I'm a sucker for dark coasters. Ripsaw Falls follows shortly after, that ride just soaks you to the point of being ridiculous.
  20. In all of my years of internet travels I don't think I've ever come across a single person that legitimately has this bad of sentence structure.
  21. Missouri - Mr Freeze Florida - Cheetah Hunt South Carolina - Afterburn North Carolina - Vortex Virginia - Intimidator 305 Maryland - Superman Washington - Windstorm, when Fun Forest was open Pennsylvania - Storm Runner Massachusetts - Bizarro New Jersey - El Toro Ohio - Maverick Edit! Indiana - Voyage West Virginia - Big Dipper Kentucky - Lightning Run
  22. As someone who's spent a week at GKTW, I honestly don't know why I haven't done this event yet. I've always wanted to, but it just kinda never happens. Really hoping I participate this year at KD.
  23. I really liked Racer's station (Kennywood). I loved the classic old-timey feeling it has, and I also thought it was cool that the entire structure rumbled and vibrated loudly when the trains passed over.
  24. ^ I must say you have fantastic taste in roller coaster photographs.
