  1. Really look forward now I got a chance of riding Helix at Liseberg next year, Also I'll be riding my first winged coaster at Heide park, both during my first trip ever. Also looking forward tot the Premier launch at Holiday park because it will be my first Premier. Also there is one non coaster I look forward to, Chiapas at Phantasialand. Basicly looking forward to a year bigger then any I had before.
  2. General list of what I know to be my first's: First coaster: Winja's Fear (Phantasialand) First steel: Winja's Fear (phantasialand) First woodie: Bandit (Movie park Germany) First 100 ft. coaster: Robin Hood (Walibi Holland) First 200 ft. coaster: Silver Star (Europa park) First looping coaster: Rock n Roller Coaster (Walt Disney studios Paris) First Inverted: Black Mamba (Phantasialand) First launch: Rock 'n Roller Coaster (Walt Disney studios Paris) First water coaster: De Vliegende Hollander (Efteling) First bobsled: Bobbaan (Efteling) First Indoor: Winja's Fear (Phantasialand) First Spinning: Winja's Fear (Phantasialand) First floorless: Krake (Heide park) First B&M: Black Mamba (Phantasialand) First Gerstlauer: Typhoon (Bobbejaanland) First GCI: Joris en de Draak (Efteling) First Intamin: Bobbaan (Efteling) First kumbak: De Vliegende Hollander (Efteling) First Mack: Speedy Bob (Bobbejaanland) First Maurer: Winja's Fear (Phantasialand) First Schwarzkopf: Psyké Underground (although edit by Gerst) (Walibi Belgium) First Vekoma: Colorado Adventure (Phantasialand.
  3. That queue is really close to the coaster, I really like those queues. Really looking forward to ride this in 2014.
  4. ^ I also dont see them together after IAAPA 2012 video's form TPR. Itamin has no intrest in inversions on woodies and will continue on building traditional woodies. Can't see that with RMC who seems to have no problem with that. I do admit Vekoma woodies have great and fun lay-outs (did 2 of the 3 in the world), but they're not really that comfortable. I have no fear for that in the Vekoma RMC woodies, meaning we'll see some great rides from them in Europe and Asia. I really hope there is already intrest in a RMC woodie here in Europe.
  5. I think this is good news. RCM coasters look really good and it only increases the chance of me riding one one day. But Vekoma is kind of a suprise.
  6. Those pictures are great with the background sky. About the theming I think the ride looks great so far. The hill themed station looks awesome.
  7. Good news I must say. So Super Wirbel didn't get sold but good to hear the first inverting coaster of Germany (according to RCDB) won't be complete trash. I just don't hope on a sparkling vampire ride.
  8. In 2014 I'm thinking these 2 trips: Trip 1 Germany: Day 1: Drive to Kiel (Germany) and take the ferry to Göteborg (Sweden). Day 2: Get from the ferry and drive to Liseberg (visit the park) drive back to the ferry back to Kiel. Day 3: Ride from Kiel to Heide park and visit. Get to hotel afterwards. Day 4: Get from hotel to Movie park and visit the park before driving home. Trip 2 England: Day 1: Drive to train or Ferry. (Depending on the choice). Day 2: Arriving at England and try to get to the hotel of stay. Day 3: Find my way to Alton and visit. Day 4: Return to Alton and visit for more fun. Day 5: Find my way to Flamingo land and visit. Day 6: Find my way to Thorpe park. (Perhaps start to go back home) Day 7: Or begin the drive home or arrive at home. Day 8: (Possible) extra day to get home.
  9. I'm planning basically my biggest year so far. Now the last barrier has been broken I finally can enjoy a year of coasters. - (Winter) Efteling (There's a lot of news I haven't seen in person. I'm pretty exited to go again.) (Revisit) - Phantasialand (This park will be experienced as completely new after my last visit back in 2009, there are some major changes.) (Revisit) - Heide park (The biggest chance to ride the Wing rider next season, I have one more on the calendar but still not 100% sure about that one.) (Revisit) - Movie park Germany (Still have to catch up on some credits, last visit was in 2007 en got to do the SLC and van Helsing) (Revisit) - Liseberg (The first new park for me in 2014, With Helix I really can't wait for that visit. ) (First visit) - Alton Towers (I tried my trip to England last year but it was stopped thanks to some events. Better luck this year to ride Nemesis and the Smiler) (First visit) - Thorpe park (My other chance of riding a wing rider. Still don't know if I will make the trip, but It's really planned now) (First visit) - Flamingo land (Yes no Pleasure beach on this england tour, but Flamingo land is. Why? Because I want to ride a El Loco and a special hang and bang) (First visit) - Holiday park (This year I finish with Holiday park for GeForce and their new ride for 2014. Let's see what the Itamin can do ) (First visit) This is a big year for me (perhaps small in compared to others) 3 times the amount of parks I can usually visit (meaning in previous years I never got over the 3). What makes this year special that I can make this big step? Well for starters I'm finally able to stand where I want to and I'm no longer depended of my parents. 2014 is truly a year to never forget in my eyes already.
  10. Is it just me or is Rocky Mountains very active on Facebook? I mean I don't see so much of other manufactures being this active. Anyhow Medusa looks really good. on those. It makes me exited to look at the finished version and onride.
  11. Helix train comes to mind. Really love the theming on that.
  12. Wow Goliath is going vertical. I'm already looking forward to see the inversions going up.
  13. I used to have the holidays like Sinterklaas (Saint Nicklas) (what is kind of the Dutch Santa, He just stays a while longer) and Christmas, so time flew by. Now I enjoy this clod days by looking back at the previous year on the web, going to movies and looking at the next season. So basically I try to push fort the hobby at home for as much as I can.
  14. I know there hasn't been much news from the Efteling in a long time. But the park isn't standing still aether. The park has is doing a lot of interesting developments, although there won't be a new ride for 2014 the park is determent to do at least something. Their most iconic dark-ride Droomvlucht (Dreamflight) has gotten a major overhaul that started 2 months ago. The ride has reopened last Monday. (source Efteling self) Here's a list of what they've done to the ride: - More trolls, Elf's and other weird things. - Theming the queue. (Big thing for the park to do, the queue was basically a eyesore.) (Source) - Major track inspections and track fixing. - The star tunnel Has been given a upgrade to make it look more like a endless tunnel. - Final big scene has been given extra supports and extra tree covering to make it more like a jungle. Also the first words are within this scene. It's a big upgrade this 20 year old ride. Also the park is doing yet another renovation in the park. Their rapid stays closed from November 4 2013 to April 30 2014, this is one month longer then the other rides staying closed during the winter season. The rapid undergoes some really heavy renovations as the ride is partly broken down and they're already in the progress to rebuild those parts. Rebuilding the ride. These brick walls in the ground are new. (Source and more here.) What's odd about the Piraña renovation is that on the other side of the road there has been some excavation. (Source) With this we're still not done with the current big projects, this one is outside the park but still their ground. Their bus station is undergoing a complete change so buses can drive much easier in and out of the drop place. Their new bus stations are already being used, their first bus made entrance on November 22. (Source) With all that we got the constructions that have been in the past few days and currently going on. But where still not done, the park is in their holiday season and got some changes with last year. The park still have their winter choir walking through the park warming you up at the campfires. anyway the change: - Some red leaves in their giant E's at the end of parks main road. - For the first time ever you can skate inside and outside of their IJspaleis (Icepalace) tent. - Their 2 tents are combined as the children tent wasn't placed very smart all the years, so there IJspaleis (Icepalce) tent has gotten a little bigger this year. - The park also brought back their Vogel Rok (Bird Rok) Christmas hat and scarf (Was missing the last few years). - Also earlier this year the Dutch queen resigned and left this job to her son (now our king). The Efteling made a giant crown and placed this on the Pagode for this event, now they had this giant crown and had no idea what to do with it. So they made it white and placed it back for the winter. (Source) this covers up most of the recent news. What do you think, should a park spend this much money on renovation an improvement of existing rides or should they just have bought a new ride? Also what do you think about the latest changes? I think this park is doing great so I hope 2015 brings at least a new fairy tale. Anyway I'm really glad they don't forget their existing rides and make plans like these to restore them to bring back the feeling you needed to have when they opened the ride.
  15. The Shop really looks like a close call. I really love the ride so far. Still hoping on a video anytime soon.
  16. Thank you for the information, this makes it pretty clear to me already. Now I can finally make a minimum price for this trip. Since I'm staying 1 day I think the wristband is the best option for me. But it seems like I will ride Helix next year after all, already exited. Anyway yet again thank you for explaining it.
  17. I got a little question about Liseberg: I'm thinking to make my first visit to this park in 2014 but can't understand the system they use. I read somewhere about coupons and cards to ride the attractions of the park with a payment to enter. My question is: how does this system works? Do I have to buy (specific) coupons for rides and how expensive would these bee? I can't really find the information I need and I want to know beforehand.
  18. What I could remember they would leave the track like it was, I think if it would get an other color we would have seen something already. The Black Supports stand so much better. I still mis the purple, but that's because I visited the park a lot of times and it kinda is how I always knew the ride. But I think I can get used to the black in the progress of the upcoming year.
  19. Well if I go alone I just take my everyday stuff: - Phone - Wallet (with cash and Id off-coarse) - Keys - Music player (mostly just because I have it always on me) - Camera (doesn't belong to the everyday stuff but comes along) If my parents come along (not much anymore, only on further parks): - all of the above. - A bag (With bread and cans or bottles of soda). So basically when I'm alone I buy in the park what my parents find to expensive, I hate to bring a bag on every ride that's why I never bring one with me.
  20. Looks awesome. second picture indeed looks weird, it's like there is no track from where it came. Cool shot from the Immelmann though. Really hope I can make my 2014 visit to Heide Park.
  21. Coming back to the 525 ft. coaster. I just read this on Screamscape.com Apparently on that 500 ft. there will be a inversion as well, gets sorta interesting. I do think they didn't listen good enough to the interview, they ask how long it will take to complete the coaster, the answer they get is 24 months but actual construction about 12 to 15 months. So I according to that the ride will open 2015/2016.
  22. That Kumback Train looks like something that would be in a Saw movie, kinda scary. I mean I can just judge on looks here. Great to see GG 5th coaster announcement this IAAPA, train looks good.
  23. Don't they feed Robb enough anymore? Yesterday he tried to eat a Proslide model and today Homer's Remote. Great pictures as always.
  24. I enjoy how the video looks this year. Something fresh and isn't IAAPA all about new and fresh? - Great how you ask the questions about Elephant vs Cheetah. - I found it interesting that you asked about Hard Rock Music Park. It really showed what kind of experts the manufacturer's are. - Had a good laugh during lot of the answers. (Balloon suspended coaster, Son of Beast, Lala land, moon ride, Alan Schilke's coaster dream, Deck on the house, and some more.) - I hoped Walter would talk more. But no, again keeping his mouth shut. He should talk about the new trains or something, he may keep quite about the future but talk about the news we know already. - Interesting ideas that never made it. Great interviews, looking forward to day 2.
  25. I actually thought it would have been nice if they sent it to Orlando. it's actually sad that nobody at IAAPA will be able to see this beautiful car.
