On Wednesday when I rode, we went up the lift completely facing the ground and we still only got the one flip at the end. But I have to say the rocking was pretty intense! Just watch, 6 months after Lex Luthor has opened they will only lift the ride to the top of the brakes and then drop it into the brakes.

Just got back from the park. I am hoping it was a dud day because it was rather slow, but the park was having trouble running X2 and Tatsu. X2 opened like an hour and a half late and so did Tatsu. So while everyone else was waiting for those, we walked on Riddler, Apocalypse, Green Lantern (which we got stuck on), Batman, Colossus, Scream, and Goliath (all with 2 train operation). Then we went back to X2 and waited 1 hr. 40 min. for X2 (with 1 train; no fire, no audio). The parking lot was not full past the picnic area and it really wasn't all that crowded. Viper also only had one train. Also, on Colossus, one of the wheels that pushes the train down the track to the lift was either not working or it was kicking in really late. It made the ride feel like it was going at 2 mph. But the rest of the ride was smooth!

The wireless wristbands are only in the water park right? For the Flash Passes or the lockers? Flash Pass: The Q-bands are just at SFHH. SFMM still uses Q-bots. Locker: I am not sure if they are in SFMM or not. I haven't checked. But they are so much better than keys! Not to mention, the park looked really nice today! Everything was clean! The water was clean and it looked like almost everything had a fresh coat of paint!

Back from Hurricane Harbor. The new bar has a loud band. They do indeed have Flash Pass. $20 for Regular, $30 for Gold. Basically every ride has it. Now for the regular rides, you queue up in switchbacks below the towers before they let you up on the towers for a 5-10ish minute wait. On the intertube rides, you have to wait in a line for the tube, then switchbacks before you go up into the tower, then a third line on the tower. There are kiosks throughout the park so you can put rides on the Flash Pass. Also, the lockers now use wireless wristbands to unlock them. If you have any questions, just post them.

I am going on a nationwide roller coaster trip in June 2013 and I am looking for some recommendations for parks to visit. I can go anywhere in the US. Do you have any recommendations for the top 10-15 coaster parks? Thanks!!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Viper at SFMM about an hour ago. -
No matter what, go to X2 first and get on. Then if you want to get a Flash Pass, get one now. If not, proceed to Tatsu, then Apocalypse, then Riddler's Revenge (single rider line), Green Lantern (single rider line), Batman, Scream, Goliath, then rerides or anything else. (This is the plan I am taking today and I will let you know how it goes.)

I have a hard time believing that X2 operates at 350 riders people hour. I remebering hearing in an interview with Jay Thomas back when the ride opened, that capacity would be at 1300+. Plus I don't think you are accounting for multiple trains. When I was at the park this last weekend, dispatches were nowhere near five minutes, and that's running two trains. SFMM has bad operations, but not that bad. Yes, this is 1 train operation. Assuming 2 minute dispatches and all 28 seats being filled, that is still only 840 people/hour. I am going to guess that there are usually an average of 2 minutes 15 seconds dispatches and an average of 26 of the 28 seats are being filled. That capacity is just short of 700 people/hour.

To the person who asked a while back about the timer/other number in the X2 station. The RIGHT screen is the timer for dispatches (It starts at 1:45 and goes to 0). They ride ops shoukd easily be able to get the train out in that amount of time. The LEFT screen counts how many trains have been dispatched in the last hour. (It resets at the top of each hour). If there is one train running, the number usually won't be above 12 or 13. If there are 2 trains, usually double that.
