  1. Yes. I have an appeal for rough rides. When the rides are smooth, they just seem too "graceful". Then they just become slow and boring. I just love being tossed and rattled around every which way! Or going really fast like on Goliath and Superman. Maybe it's just that I've been on them too many times and they just got boring. Because I have been on every ride in the park (except Lex and Superman, about 20 times on each) at least 50 times, some even over 100 times. I think I'm just bored. I will usually only ride RR once every 3 times I visit, just because I don't feel like wasting my time on it.
  2. ^Yes, and Scream and Batman too! Those B&Ms are just too smooth. I like the rougher coasters like X2 and Viper and the more forceful coasters like Goliath and Green Lantern. I would pick Viper any day over Riddler or Scream.
  3. I don't understand. It doesn't hurt at all! I see how it could, but I would have to TRY to make it feel uncomfortable. If everyone stood naturally there would be no problems whatsoever. Just stand like you normally would and let the seat lock. When it locks, press down so the seat locks lower, not higher! And it will be nice. I just don't like RR because it is rather boring. It is not forceful at all and there is no airtime.
  4. This can also be attributed to the longer load time required by stand-ups. I mean they take so long that CP elects to run 2 trains rather than 3 on Mantis because they can't get any higher throughput due to the slow load time. It wasn't stacking and it usually never does. Tatsu was taking about twice as long to load and had a line less than half as long. It's just that some people don't get the concept that you stand up on a stand up roller coaster. It's personally not anywhere near my favorite ride at the park, but the GP always seems to like it.
  5. Riddler had the longest line in the park on Friday, so I think it is still popular. It usually has a decent size line whenever I go.
  6. Avoid Fridays!!! That's all I can say. Any Friday that has a private party is packed like a Saturday! Tuesday - Thursday is your best bet.
  7. ^It will probably be as dead as yesterday. Kids are already back in school and the hours are really short. You can usually somewhat tell the crowds by the park hours.
  8. It was working just fine today. Not to mention a really dead day at the park. I walked right onto Goliath, no line whatsoever. Also walked onto Batman, Scream, and Colossus. Green Lantern had a 15 minute wait. Then went to Riddlers and found a wait almost to the entrance so walked on with Single Rider. Then walked on Apocalypse (which is no longer sponsored by Falling Skies) and went over to X2. There was a less than 10 minute wait, with the line ending about half way up the stairs or the ramp, depending on which side you went to. I rode twice and the music was still blasting. Then rode Viper twice in a row. Went up to Superman and waited 30 minutes with both sides running. Lex was experiencing technical difficulties all day but reopened right when we got back from Superman. So we waited 10 minutes and got on. We walked on Gold Rusher and Ninja then headed to Tatsu for the last ride. The line was only full through the first row on the bottom and wasn't even switchback. Still took 20 minutes with horrible operations. Overall pretty good day with almost no lines!
  9. Tatsu does have 4 ops checking seats during peak season. Any time other than that, both Tatsu and X2 only have 2 ops checking seats. Usually Goliath has 3 ops checking seats, 2 on one side and 1 on the other. I never understood that. And why on Colossus and Goliath do they have to check the seats at the same time?
  10. Oh, you aren't talking a out this coming Monday. Well I could probably estimate some waits for you. X2- if you run fast enough and it opens on time, none. On Tuesday it opened 20 minutes late. Tatsu- if X2 opened on time, 5 minutes. If X2 opened any more than 5 minutes late, expect a 15-30 minute wait. Superman - if X2 opened on time, expect a 5 minute wait. If X2 opened late, expect a 15-30 minute wait. Apocalypse - 10 minutes or less Riddlers - 5 minutes or less with Single Rider Green Lantern - 5 minutes or less with Single Rider Batman - 10 minutes or so Lex- 5-10 min with Single Rider Line (which doesn't open til noon) Scream and Colossus - 5-10 minutes each Goliath - 15-60 min. It's different every day so you may get lucky or you may not. I usually have to wait around 30 minutes. Nothing else should have anything more than a 10 minute wait.
  11. I've also seen some improvement in the Tatsu crew this summer as well. Still nowhere close to where they should be, but better. Usually it will only stack on the transfer for about 10-20 seconds. One ride I've noticed that is getting worse in terms of operations is Goliath. Now, even with 2 trains, it will stack! It usually takes about 2 min. 30 seconds for dispatches and it is just really slow. It's fine if it stacks with 3 trains, but It shouldn't be stacking with 2 trains. Especially when the ride ops are just chatting away and laughing with each other.
  12. There's never a 3-4 hour line anymore. I haven't seen anything more than 2 hours 15 minutes this whole season, including weekends! In weekdays, it usually won't get much longer than 75 minutes in the morning and will usually drop to about 25-30 minutes around 4:40 PM. I will usually go to X2 in the morning and then go back for a second ride during the 4 'o clock hour. Monday shouldn't be bad. The hours are decreased to 10:30-8PM. You would probably be better going Tuesday though as Tuesday always seems to be the emptiest day of the week. But use this order: X2 Tatsu Superman: Escape from Krypton Apocalypse Riddler's Revenge Single Rider Green Lantern Single Rider Batman Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom Single Rider Colossus Scream Goliath Viper Ninja Rerides and any other rides
  13. ^And we got another ride with no wait after that! So you would get what you wish for!
  14. Yes they do. Yesterday they said "Attention, you will be dropping momentarily. Be ready to drop! Then after another 45 seconds or so, it dropped randomly and actually scared me! ^^ It's a $15 up charge for X2 (only available on Gold and Platinum, and $15 for Lex Luthor (Platinum only). Green Lantern is now available for ALL Flash Pass levels with no up charge, which is really clogging the line lately. And I would recommend Monday, the 3rd to go. Usually the actual day of the holiday is much emptier than the preceding weekend. Especially now since most of the kids will be back in school by then. I went on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and my longest wait was 40 minutes for Goliath. So you probably won't need a Flash Pass.
  15. Just got back from SFMM and I'm glad to report that I had a fantastic day! The park was relatively not crowded for a summer weekday in early August. Went into the park and was the first one on X2 (opened 20 minutes late; music was BLASTING very very loudly on both trains and the fire was working!). Then headed up to Tatsu and waited 15 minutes for the front row (decent operations). Waited 15 minutes for Superman, running just the right side. Then headed to Apocalypse and waited 5 minutes (1 train operation due to "routine annual maintenance". Again??). Went and got lunch in DC Universe and used to single rider line to ride Green Lantern 3 times and got some AMAZING rides! On the first ride I got 2 flips, including a flip in the first half of the ride; this car was very unbalanced. On the second ride, which was relatively unbalanced, I got 1 flip at the end. On the third ride, by far the best, I got a whopping 3 flips! One in the first half of the ride, then in the second half it was back flipping continuously! It felt so awesome! And what was strange was that it was almost perfectly balanced! Seems like they are loosening it up a bit. Then I headed over to Lex Luthor Single rider and this is where the fun started. I got stuck at the top for about 5 minutes on side 1! The views were great! And when we got back down they let us ride again without waiting. After I left the ride operated for about 30 more minutes and then was down for 4-5 hours! I think the heat (109°F) today was causing the ride to malfunction and make the cars and catch cars get stuck at the top. Maintenance was there testing the ride and had ladders in the station to access the catch cars during this time. It finally reopened around 6 PM. We rode some more rides and our longest wait was 30 invites for Goliath! Not bad! I also saw Bonnie Rabjohn out talking to guests this morning just after opening. It seemed very welcoming and friendly to enter the park this morning! She was with Sue Carpenter. Overall great day!
  16. ^What he said. X2, then Tatsu, then Lex Luthor, then Green Lantern, and you are good for the day. I used this plan last Thursday and it worked like a charm! I had to wait about 10 minutes for Lex Luthor when I did this. I will also be at the park today and running to X2 first. So I might see you there!
  17. ^^ Saturday or Sunday? Yesterday was dead for a Sunday. 20 minutes for X2 and 10 for Goliath all day. Saturday I recommend a Gold Flash Pass, Sunday you should be fine. Just follow this plan: RUN to X2 (if it opens on time or within 2-3 minutes, ride it! If it isn't open during this time, continue to Tatsu.) Tatsu Superman Apocalypse Riddlers Revenge Green Lantern Single Rider Batman Lex Luthor Single Rider Colossus Scream Goliath X2 (if you haven't already been on, or you want a second ride, go here around 4-4:30 and get in line). Viper and anything else
  18. If you buy a ticket (or season pass) at the SF park, you will be given a receipt at the ticket booth. Instead of getting your pass processed in the morning when everyone does it, use the receipt to get into the park and get your pass at the end of your visit! Works like a charm every time.
  19. No need for that. It's possible to have inversions and airtime! We all know what happens when this park tries to "avoid inversions". (Green Lantern issues) Not a good idea.
  20. I got the Full Throttle Survey, but I didn't get this one. The FT survey was interesting, but we agreed not to say anything about it.
  21. ^^Yes, that's the only place where my head every touches the OTSR every single ride. And I usually have my head turned sideways looking at X2, that hurts. Has anyone ridden Lex Luthor with their eyes closed? It's actually pretty cool and those magnetic brakes feel awesome when you hit them.
  22. I might be there on Tuesday as well! I forgot to mention earlier that Colossus now has a rehabbed red train on the track that runs AMAZING! I think I would say it was smoother than Scream, definitely smoother than Apocalypse. Not quite as much airtime, but it is still there and the ride itself seems amazing! You have to check it out sometime!
  23. Usually Mondays and Fridays are the busiest days of the week at the park, but they aren't very noticeably busier. I was at Hurricane Harbor this past Monday and the parking lot was full, but the dirt lot was not in use. It seemed quite busy though. That's the only Monday I've been all summer, but it seemed similar to a Friday to me. Tuesday's seem to be the least crowded. It might be lighter next week because some schools are back in session or will be soon. I should also mention that there was a mechanic walking the track at SEFK this morning where it passes over the midway. So I'm not sure what the problem was.
